In standard AX functionality credit limits can be checked for the following documents and
processes:
Beside standard functionalities, there are several Brainforce customizations that are described
later.
Credit limit control is enabled on Accounts receivable > Accounts receivable parameters >
Credit rating. Here are the options for documents on which creation credit limit should be checked,
type of message, and how the remaining credit limit will be calculated.
Figure 1
Credit limit is set on customer card for each customer in section Credit and collections. Beside
credit limit it is possible to put customer on hold (block) for certain level of activity (just for invoice or
for all activities).
Figure 2
Options for blocking customers and for blocking sales orders are at BRAIN FORCE Model >
Accounts receivable section (Figure 3):
1. Blocking invoice for selected customer. It is working in same way as manual blocking with
option “Invoice” on customer card (Figure 4). Do not work for unblocking.
2. Blocking/unblocking all sales orders (except of manually blocked/unblocked sales orders) for
selected customers.

Figure 5
With BF functionality it is enabled to lock the specific sales order line for picking or packing. This
functionality is in connection to Check credit limit BF where locked sales order lines are excluded
from calculation of remaining credit limit.
Figure 6
Sales order line is automatically locked if the amount exceeds the credit limit and this line is
excluded from calculation of remaining credit limit, so it is possible to process sales order line which
amount do not breach credit limit.
User can manual unlock picking or packing for locked sales order line by marking checkboxes for
those options.
Additional requirements
When using standard functionality for Collections, it is possible to create collection letters for all
customers in due. All necessary settings for using collection functionality should be set up first (yellow
marked in Image 5.).
After this, we can proceed with settings, creation and printing/sending collection letters:
1. Collection letter sequence need to be set up (collection letter codes, levels, days, minimum
amount in due, note…)
2. Collection letter sequence has to be added to customer posting profile
3. In Account receivable parameters settings related to collection letters
4. Creation of collection letters with defined parameters
5. Printing/sending collection letter notes to customers
Figure 7
- contact information (e-mail) with specific purpose has to made on customer card,
- Print management settings has to be made
go to the accounts receivable print management (Accounts receivable > Setup > Forms
> Form setup > Print management). Use an existing node or create a new node under
the collection letter note. Click the arrow besides destination and choose Printer setup.
Select E-mail and click the Edit button for the recipient field. In the dialog you can choose
a purpose with which to identify a customer's e-mail address to which to send the
collection letter.
Now, if you print a collection letter note and AX finds an e-mail address with the
specified purpose it will send the collection letter to that address.
You can overwrite these settings per customer.
You can either use an existing purpose or create a distinct purpose for collection letters
(Organization administration > Setup > Gobal address book > Address and contact
information purpose).
To assign a purpose to a customer's e-mail address you have to open the relevant
contact information in advanced view.
