THE MODERATING EFFECT OF YEAR LEVEL IN THE RELATIONSHIP

GRADE 8 AND 10 STUDENTS IN CATEEL VOCATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL

Abstract

This quantitative descriptive comparative correlation study aimed to


determine a significant relationship between the moderating effect of grade level
in the relationship between parental involvement and learning motivation of grade
8 and 10 students in Cateel Vocational High School. There were a total of 273
respondents from which 167 were Grade 8 students and 106 were Grade 10
students. Stratified random sampling technique was employed in the study.
Through utilization of various statistical tools, result showed that parental
involvement was within the expected level and the learning motivation was
manifested sometime. Furthermore, the result of Pearson-r revealed that there was
no significant difference in their level of parental involvement and learning
motivation when analyzed according to grade level. Moreover, correlational
analysis showed that there was a significant relationship between the two variables
of the study and it was also found out that parental involvement has 88%
influencing power to learning motivation of the students.
