Calkins Reading and Writing Conference for Eureka Math
Institute
Rationale:? I chose this goal for part of my
continuing professional development
because this is the reading, writing,
and phonics curriculum used in my
district. I think attending the reading
and writing institute would be
amazing and help me as I strive to
teach this curriculum with passion
and fidelity. It would definitely give
me insight and confidence when
teaching which will strengthen my
students learning abilities and allow
them to grow broader and deeper as
learners.
End Date: I would like to accomplish this goal
by the end of summer 2020.
I chose this goal for part of my
professional development plan
because this is the math curriculum
that used in my district. I think
attending this math conference would
give me the foundation in
understanding and teaching number
sense to my students. This math is
definitely not the math I grew up
with, so being trained in the
underlying principles and conceptual
knowledge will really help me as I
teach it to the students. The students
will benefit from this because they
will have a teacher who is confident
and feels trained to teach this great
program.
I would like to accomplish this goal
by the end of summer 2021.
Become a Google Certified
Educator
I chose this as a goal for part of my
professional development plan
because understanding and
implementing technology in the
classroom is the future of education.
Most of the programs adopted by
schools are Google based due to the
fact that Google offers their products
to school for free. Becoming Google
certified will help me as I navigate
the world of technology with and for
my students. My students will benefit
from this because they will have
access to instant learning and
information and they will also have
instant differentiation. The
engagement of technology will be
useful when teaching them and will
give them learning opportunities that
traditional teaching cannot.
I would like to have this
accomplished by end of summer
2021.

 Action Timeline: The steps to take to accomplish this
goal will be to express my desire to
attend to my principal so that I can
then be put on the list of those
attending. I would need to fill out the
application and then be accepted to
attend the program. I plan to put this
plan into action as soon as I am
officially certified.

will help with the monetary cost of

The steps needed to accomplish this
goal will be to express my desire to
attend to my principal. After her
initial approval, I will need to register
for the conference. I would like to
have this accomplished by the end of
summer 2021.

task are registering for the exam and
paying the fee to take the exam.

help study for the exam as well as
You tube videos that help with
content areas of information.
