in the mcrnuol. These lensesore most corefully selecfed
ond corrected to produce the best possible results.

The more deplh of focus you need, the smoller the
lens operlure. The smoller the lens operlure the higher
the stop number (stop 5,6 is smoller thon stop 4).

The exposure time


is odiusted by lurning the milled ring 5 until lhe
desired shulter speed comes over the orrow on lhe
lef t o f t h e w ord " K o d o k" . T h e number s r epr esent fr oc-
tions of seconds. A guide lo correct exposure is given
in lhe "Exposure loble" ol the reor of the monuol.

To use as a Fixed Focus Camera

set the stop to f.8 ond focus lhe


lenson the red point neor 25feet.

With the stop set to f.8 ond the
lens focussedon ihe othcr red
point neqr l0 feet, everything is
shorp from l5 feet to 7 feet. (Do

The Compur Rapid Shutler
The Compur Ropid Shulter on your "Retino" ll wlll give
e x p o s u r e s o f l , rl z, rl s, rl n , rl zs, rlsc, l/uo, l/zsl ond l/soc,
olso Bulb exposures. The figures morked on lhe milled
ring represenlfruclions of o second: 2:tlz, 100- Uroo,
elc. The shuttermust be set for oll exposuresincluding
Bulb, by pressing over lhe setling-lever 6 os for os it
will go. The setting Jever must not be left in o holf-
woy position becouse the shulter might then open
occidento!ly. Exposures ore mode by pressing the
body shutter releose 7.

For Bulb exposures ('B') the shulter opens when the


shuller releose is pressed ond closes when it is re-
leosed. For lhese exposures il is qdvisoble to screw
lhe "Retino" ll on lo o lripod; lhere is o tripod socket
18 for this purpose. Next to the body-releose there
is o socket into which the coble-releose con be
screwed.

How to load lhe film
Lift the locking cotch 16 ond open the bock of the
comero. L.oy the comero down in front of you, ope-
ned,. so. thot fhe bock is on the right (fig. l3). Pull
out knob 17 os for os it will come ond inserl lhe new
cosselle of Kodok block-ond-white or Kodochrome"
film in the film-chomber (fig. l4). Push in ond ot the
some time lurn knob l7 to hold lhe cossette in posilion-
