CALL FOR ENTRIES!

Seattle Chinatown International District Preservation and Development Authority (SCIDpda) and the
Washington Vietnamese American Chamber of Commerce (WAVA) invite you to participate in this
photo contest featuring Little Saigon. Photos submitted for this contest should fall into one of the
following four themes: culture, spaces & places, food, and the marketplace. The contest is open to
anyone over the age of 18.

• Culture: images that represent the Vietnamese culture, people or heritage of the area.
• Spaces & Places: buildings and streetscapes that define Little Saigon.
• Food: food enjoyed and bought in Little Saigon.
• The Marketplace: a local business in action in Little Saigon.

HOW TO ENTER
• Complete and submit an application, which includes:
1) An entry form found on page 2 of this form.
2) A $10 entry fee, cash or checks made out to SCIDpda.
3) A CD with a maximum of 10 photos, between 2-4 MB each in JPEG format. (Photos
chosen for exhibition will be printed in 8 x 10 inch dimensions)
4) Photo release forms (if appropriate)

• DEADLINE: Full applications must be received by Tuesday, November 30th, 2010 at
5pm.

GUIDELINES
• Each photo must be titled with the photographer’s name, category & photo name.
Example: AmyNguyen_food_pho.jpg
• A photo release form needs to accompany images showing recognizable faces and can be
found on our website
• Photos must be taken in Little Saigon (map on website)

PRIZES & WINNING PHOTOS


• 100 of the best photos will be exhibited in Little Saigon on December 11-12, 2010. Winners
will be announced at the Artists’ Reception held on Saturday, December 11, 2010.
• Category winners receive $100 in prizes from local businesses and the winning photos will
also be exhibited at the Tet in Seattle 2011 Festival at the Seattle Center on January 29-30,
2011

By signing below, I hereby grant SCIDpda the right to use, reproduce, print and publish my enclosed
images at their discretion toward the purposes of promoting Little Saigon/International District and
this photo competition. I release all claims against SCIDpda with respect to compensation related to
use of the materials, and understand that when used, all images will be credited to me. I am
promising that the content is original, doesn't plagiarize from anyone or infringe
a copyright or trademark, doesn't violate anybody's rights and isn't libelous or
otherwise unlawful or misleading.
