ACTIVITIES
PRE LESSON

1. Pupils brainstorm types of weather that they like (Think-Pair-Share)

LESSON DELIVERY
1. Pupils look at the picture and guess what the text is about.
2. Pupils read the text and find 5 unfamiliar words found in the text.
3. Pupils find the meaning for the words in the dictionary.
4. Pupils answer hinge question asked by the teacher in 1 sentence. (Task 1) – Can you summarise
the story in 1 sentence.
5. Pupils arrange the events in correct order (Task 2). – individual task.
6. Pupils compare their answers in pairs and teacher checks answer as a class.
7. Pupils answer 6 comprehension questions (Task 3)
8. Pupils check their answers with partners. (peer assessment)
9. Teacher will monitor the discussion (simultaneous interaction)

POST LESSON
1. Pupils are asked ‘Stingray question’ – WHAT IF SOPHIE DIDN’T WEAR THE MP3 DURING THE
STORM?
