User Manual 1 Use Instruction

1 Use Instruction

This manual shall only be used as the guide for the installation and operation of the PC500
outdoor cabinet air conditioner. It introduces the functions and daily maintenances of the unit.

CAUTION
 All wiring connections must comply with national and local electrical code; voltage,
frequency and power capacity must be consistent with the provisions of the use of this
product.
 The product must be installed by trained professionals.
 Don’t upside down, excessive tilt and collision.
 Need circuit breaker for both DC and AC power supply.
 Grounding connection must be reliable. Grounding wires can’t be connected to gas pipe,
water pipe, lightning rod, telephone wire. Otherwise, it causes the electric shock hazard.
 Prohibited lead or extend the power line, the prohibition of weight, heating, pull the power
line.
 Compressor use power input of 220 V AC (or 110 V AC dual live wire). Controller and
fans use power input of -48 V DC.
 Power inputs of 220 V AC and -48 V DC are both on, the equipment works well. Only 220
V AC power input is on and -48 V DC is not on, the whole equipment doesn’t work. Only
-48 V DC is on and 220 V AC is not on, only fans and heat exchanger work, compressor
doesn’t work.

2.9 System working princple

Compressor running: When the cabinet internal return temperature reaches the cooling startup
point (cooling startup point = cooling point + cooling sensitivity), the compressor starts.
Compressor stop: When the cabinet internal return temperature is lower than the cooling point,
the compressor stops.
Internal fan running: Fan operation is divided into air mode and cooling mode. In air mode,
fan runs at low speed to ensure that the power consumption reduction and hydrogen. In
cooling mode, fan runs at high speed.
External fan running: The external fan’s speed depends on condenser coil temperature. With
speed regulation function, when the ambient temperature is lower, the external fan runs at
lower speed, so that the noise level reduces.
When the environmental temperature is below -20 degrees, air-conditioning doesn't work,
inner and external fan stop running.

User Manual 6 Power-on and Checking

NO. Item
5 Check the power supply voltage with current meter, Whether the power supply
voltage is normal, and comply with the nameplate parameter.

6.3 Running
Close the AC & DC power input circuit breaker. Air conditioner is powered on.

Normal running
At first, internal fan is running at low speed. 3 minutes later after power on, air conditioner
starts running.
When internal temperature reaches the cooling startup point, the cooling system starts with
compressor and external fan start running.
Many minutes later, the temperature of internal air supply port on bottom will lower than the
air return port on top. The temperature of external air exhaust outlet on top will higher than
ambient.
After self-test, the system enters the normal running status. Internal cycle fan keeps running,
if the cabinet internal Temperature reaches the cooling startup point, the cooling will start, and
then compressor and external fan run at the same time.

Cooling system self-test

Select the “Diagnosis” function in the “Set Up” menu shown in figure 6-2, and the unit will
start the “self-test” procedure automatically.
Press “ESC” button to stop self-test.
If the self-test is passed, the system enters the normal running status.
Self-test runs by fellow turns.
1. The internal fan runs 30 seconds.
2. Compressor and external fan run 3 minutes.
3. Compressor and external fan stop.
4. And then, the unit runs as its normal logic.

Cooling Function Checking

After cooling starts, check whether the unit cooling efficiency is normal. Through the unit
current can judge whether the unit is normal. The unit current is variable according to ambient
Temperature. In the cooling mode, the temperature of internal cooled air supplied is lower
than the internal air return temperature. And the external outlet temperature is higher than the
inlet temperature.
Room temperature (Ambient temp 35 degC): After cooling starts, visually check whether the
internal fan & compressor run normally DC (1.0±0.2 A), AC (1.0±0.2 A). In normal
temperature, the AC and DC current are close to rated AC and DC current.

User Manual 6 Power-on and Checking

High temperature (Ambient temp 55degC): After cooling starts, visually check whether the
internal fan & compressor run normally DC (1.0±0.2 A), AC (1.3±0.2 A). In high temperature,
the AC current is higher than rated AC current.
Low temperature (Ambient temp 15degC): After cooling starts, visually check whether the
internal fan & compressor run normally DC (1.0±0.2 A),AC (0.7±0.2 A). In low Temperature,
the AC current is lower than rated AC current.

NOTE
The air conditioner cooling startup default valve is 25 degC, when the cabinet internal return
temperature is lower than 25 degC, the unit can’t start. Onsite checking, heating the
temperature sensor to the detected Temperature is higher than 25 degC, and then the unit can
start. During the checking, needn’t change the unit’s setting parameter. Cooling normal
judgment:
After cooling starts, if the internal & external fan and compressor run normally without
abnormal noise and the unit current is normal judged according to the above 3 points, and the
internal outlet Temperature is lower than the inlet Temperature; and the external outlet
Temperature is higher than the inlet Temp; it indicates that the unit is in normal cooling mode.

7 Maintenance

This chapter introduces unit maintenance.

7.1 Daily Maintenance

To ensure the normal operation of the air conditioner, please perform regular maintenances for
it by referring to Table 7-1.
Warning: All the maintenances should be performed by qualified professionals. Please
disconnect the power and communication & alarm output cables of the air conditioner before
any maintenance and do not reconnect them until the maintenance is completed.
After the air conditioner is power on, select self-test function firstly, and check whether this
process is normal. If self-test is OK, and then check whether the system enter the normal
interface, without alarm. Refer to “6.3 Running” for this two process.
If the above two process are normal, it indicate that the air conditioner is normal; otherwise
judge the alarm preliminary through referring to “Section 2.11 Alarm and Fault
Management” and “Section 7.2 Common Fault and Solution”.
