Faculty of Graduate Studies

Guide for Newly Admitted Students

Congratulations on completing the first step to your graduate education. You are
joining a community of innovative scholars, researchers and faculty committed to
ensuring your success. Below are some important steps you need to complete before
you begin your studies at the University of Calgary.

1. Accept the Offer of Admission

In order to accept or decline the University of Calgary offer of admission, you must login
into MyUofC using your eID and password. Under QuickLinks click Student Centre, then
under the Admissions heading at the bottom of the page choose Accept/Decline.

2. Register for Courses

You may register for your approved courses through MyUofC. Contact your program to
confirm the course schedule for your year and degree. All registration must be
completed before the add/drop deadline, you may find this information for specific
academic terms in the Graduate Calendar.

3. Pay Fees

Tuition and general fees can be paid online through online banking or in person at
Enrolment Services. Tuition must be paid before the deadline or there may be holds
placed on your account. Course-based students will also need to pay a $500
confirmation deposit. See our page on paying your fees for more information.

4. Apply for Student Housing

The application for residence at the University is separate from the application for
admission. As there is limited availability for graduate student residence, you are
encouraged to apply early. For further information or to apply contact Residence
Services. The Student’s Union Off-Campus Housing Database can assist you in finding
affordable off-campus housing in Calgary.
