Why do we need inclusivity and diversity?

-Not be small minded anymore

-Don’t fall in to the same traps of our parents
-Accessibility
-Prevent echochamber
-Climate change concerns everyone
-Diversity → diverse solutions / perspectives
-To make everyone feel home/ safe sharing space
-Other organisations are often focussing on one group

Why do we need this target group?

-*Because they represent a significant portion of (student)society. >50%
-Last year some mbo’ers didn’t feel in place
-Integrate accessibility into programme: youth is not only uni
-Combine forces theoretical or practical
-Relationship opportunity
-Equality & representation
- being original

Possibility internship?
New team members?

-My actions won’t make a difference -Yea, can i pay for it?
- lack of society -Is it fair for me?
-No feeling of urgency/ no fear
- burnout pressure
i am concerned about other things
- whats the point? -Simplistic worry/very personal impact e.g.
(other countries) asthma and unclean air
- NL is pushing to much -Suspicion to the government
-Migrant mboér might feel fear because of -
relatives living abroad
-Pressure from outside

Hear & do Hear & do

-More expensive to make domestic changes -Things they dont understand

-They contemplate waste seperation
-Need a reward for doing

Pain gain Pain and Gain

- go out of your way -Related to: money, status, future certainty
- isolation
- lack of understanding
*points mentioned in the discussion

- MBO vs HBO students seem to have no huge differences in regards to personality

- MBO students differ alot among themselves, also in levels 1 to 4 (e.g. level 1 less / not critical
regarding information sources, cannot handle autonomy vs level 4 critical and can handle
autonomy)
- MBO students experience a “gap” after graduatioin, “what to do with their life now”
- MBO students start working partime/fultime relatively young, age 20

How to reach the group created in the empathy map, with in the MBO?
Who
- students who are already worried
- students who are already informed
- Students with a migrant background (worried because of familiy living abroad related to
climate issues)
- students who have some type of affinity with the enviroment (e.g. agriculture)

How
- Do a presentation at the school
- Questionnaire / field research
- Ask the director at the MBO
- Create a “safe space “ (e.g. when ever a meetup is filled with vegans, a non-vegan or
meat eater should still feel safe/welcome)
- Using symbols (e.g. for workshops, signing)

Goals during these activities

- students must feel that we (lcoy team) makes an effort
- Students must feel listened to, and feel appreciated
- “Selling” the topic of enviromental sustainability - vegan is the best thing vs eating less
meat is better for the planet.
- Not making students feel guilty
