Envisions Staff Meeting:
Opening up envisions and using it in a proper way
Beginning of every chapter talks about the:
Major cluster: Content standard → breaks it down, a big part of the learning goal and the
FOCUS
Also talks about the background knowledge that students SHOULD have before diving into the
chapter.
Topic Planner:
List each section → Standard, objective, essential, vocabulary, materials. USE THESE
RESOURCES
The beginning of each section:
Focus, coherence, rigor
Focus: What the lesson focuses on, standard, objective, vocab
Coherence: What they learned in grade 1 and how we are building on that now
Rigor → Conceptual Understanding
How to use envisions:
Solve and share: It is important to do this because students should be talking about the math
that they are doing. They should be talking about their math and their peer's math
Learning target: It is important that students know what they are learning.
Mini Lesson: Clear up any misconceptions
Independent work: You want to know what they can do on their own
