Jianna has a solid knowledge of grade level content. She uses real world examples to explain concepts to her students, and is
beginning to questions students at a higher level of understanding.

Jianna writes lesson plans that are aligned to state, local, and school objectives, and contain all the major component parts. She plans
well and teaches the content using her developmental plan. During my observations, she is still working on transitions within the class
and how to link the content to her objectives. Overall, she is progressing in all of the above areas.

Jianna use of technology in the classroom, supports her learning objectives. During my visits, she has used the SMART Board, Chrome
Books, other applications and Schoology. She continues to use a variety of teaching strategies, from whole group to small group, and
is confident in her presentation. I have seen her improve in her presentation skills and is engaging students more, as she develops her
style of teaching.

In the above areas, Jianna has worked with her cooperating teacher to study student data from quarterly tests, mid and post
assessments, Achieve 300, and the Daily 5. From this data, she has changed her instruction to meet the needs of the students. For
example, she is working with specific students and small groups to improve several areas of instruction using guided practice and
individual sessions with the students.

Jianna is well respected in the classroom and tries hard to balance her classroom management with a positive classroom environment.
During my visits the students listened to her and she in turn made sure their voices were heard. Jianna consistently makes sure the
students are on task and has no problem bringing the students back into focus if they are not paying attention.

Jianna is on her way to becoming an effective teacher. She listens to how she can improve her teaching and wants to learn new and
innovative strategies. She has grown in confidence from the earlier observations and is implementing better lessons. Jianna is
professional when discussing improvements to her classroom delivery and hopefully will continue this in her next teaching experience.

Jianna is documenting student progress in several areas using a variety of data sources (assessments, benchmark scores, reading
scores, and student work). She is working on plans to increase the performance of her students. I am pleased to see major progress in
this area.
