Introduction
& Time
In the introduction teacher will check their Prior Learning by asking them same
questions.
5-10min
1-What is fraction?

2-How to write this fraction?

3-Tenths and hundredths in which side of decimal right or left?

Than teacher will model the lesson.

Teacher will say, today lesson about who to model decimals and fractions in
hundred and tenth chart. In three easy steps.

• First steps: count how many blocks are colour in the chart. The easy
way to count that we know is a hundred chart so in one line we have
10 blocks, list see who many lines colour all that many is ten,6 lines are
colour all that many we have 60 blocks and 6 all together 66.

• Second step: writ the fraction for this chart, make a line, what is my
denominator the whole part 100, and what is my numerator, how many
blocks are colour it 66, my fraction will be .

• The third and last step: we going to write a decimal .66 is part of 100 so it will
be in right side we don’t have ones a whole part so we will put 0 then we will
put our decimal, after that we will write our parts is 0.66

Teacher explains, tenths will be one number because 10 has one zero
hundredths will be 2 numbers because 100 has two zeros.

Resources Main activities

& Time
Center 1: Pair work/puzzle
In this center there will puzzle, students will work in pairs to solve the puzzle.
Power point- First, they have to see a chart picture, then search for a fraction for this chart,
puzzle -glue and after that find the decimal for the fraction, in the end, they have to find the
activity card -A5 word for this decimal. The teacher will do one example for them on the
papers -activity whiteboard.
cards

Center 2: Decimal modeling

In this center, there will be 9 chart pictures, with decimals. Students will work
individually. The teacher will do one example with students in the front. The
first teacher asks the students what the fraction for this part is, the teacher
will write the fraction in the board, then ask the students to find the decimal
for this fraction and glue it in the bottom of the picture

Center 3:
In this center students will work in pairs to complete this activity. Fist students
have to find decimal for the fraction and write it down, then model it in the
100 charts for example, the fraction is ,then students write the decimal
0.22 and the model it in the chart, students will color 2 tenth and 2 ones.

Center 4:
In this center, Students will work individually. The teacher will give each
student one worksheet. First students have to see the chart and count the
blocks and write the fraction than find the decimal for the fraction. For
example, first students will count how many tens they have and how many
ones they have, then write the fraction, after that write the decimal.

Differentiation activities (Stretch)

All activities are differentiated.

Resources
& Time Plenary/Conclusion

After 15 min, the teacher will ring the bell and ask the students to stop and
put everything in the middle of the table. Teacher give each students A5
paper. Teacher will draw one chart in the board, students must find the
fraction for this chart and write the decimal. Teacher will give them 2 min to
finish it.

Assessment Teacher will ask the question during the activity to check students
Strategies: understanding.
