CHAPTER NO 1

INTRODUCTION
Education is the action or process of educating or of being educated. The knowledge
development resulting from the process of being educated. Education is the key to
survival of any society without which not only the present but also the future generation
will face irreparable loss. Teachers being the qualitative change and raise the standers of
education, education, as a result, ensures the welfare, progress and prosperity of the nation.

Teachers play vital roles in the lives of the students in their classrooms. Teachers
are best known for the role of educating the students that are placed in their care.
Beyond their teachers serve many other roles in the classroom. Teacher set the tone of
their classroom, build a warm environment, mentor and nature students, become role model
and listen and look for signs of trouble. Teachers are typically highly respected by people
in the community and therefore become a role model to students and parents.

formal preparation process to become a teacher. Traditionally this process is conducted
through course work, practicum, and seminars. In the field of education, to invention is to
create something new which markedly deviates from traditional practices which have
been followed since a long time to impart education at different levels. Various inventors’
have been introduced as way to break out the complex system which propels student
through a series of identical classrooms in which teachers do most of the talking and
student have little opportunity to respond. The aim of all these innovations-organizational,
curricular, and technological is to adapt instructions more precisely to the needs of each
individual student.

Teaching is an art like every art it requires a sufficient amount of practical


training for the job. Teaching practice, being an integral aspect of teacher education,
provides opportunities to the trainees to put theoretical knowledge into practice weather it
is on regular basis or through distance education. It bring about the natural abilities of
trainees, how to face the class, lesson planning, its presentation etc. It is helpful in shaping
actual situation of teaching-learning situation.

 Statement of the problem:-


Exploring teaching practicum effect on teacher
education.
 Objective of the study:-

1. To investigate the effect of teacher practicum on teacher education.


2. To check the present status of teaching practices being held in teacher
education.

3. To suggest measure to make the teaching practices effective in teacher


education.

 Significance of the study:-


It also provides student teachers with a frame of reference for the skills
they are building. It is a critically important part of initial teacher
education. Quality practice within the practicum component of pre-service
teacher education programs were high related to the preparation of quality
teaching professionals.
