General Education Setting:
In the fall of 2018, I taught for 15 weeks in a 3rd
grade general education classroom at Bellevue
  
Elementary School in Bellevue, Michigan. In my
general education setting I learned critical skills

on how to manage a classroom and how to
effectively assist and service all students,
including students with special needs in the
general education classroom curriculum. I was
able to differentiate instruction and
accommodate assignments based on student’
needs, as well as give students a more
appropriate way to view and access general

● I believe that one of the most important
parts of teaching is building
relationships. This includes building
relationships with your students, your
families, your colleagues, and those in
your community.
● I believe that goals are crucially
important for students. This means that
setting goals is a skill that I stress. I
believe that students can make their
own goals, and teachers and other
individuals can discuss and make goals
with them, but I believe students should
be always be a central part of the goal
making process.
● I also believe that students can and
should be held accountable for tracking
their progress within goals. This makes
students more invested in their own
progress and allows them to see their
growth in a visible way, which can be
very motivating and encouraging.

● I have high expectations for all of my
students. I will not expect anything less
than the best from my students –
although that may look different from
student to student. I do not have the
same expectations for all of my students,
but I will work to ensure my students
know and understand what I expect
from them.
