Sub; Highways Department – Avoidance of calling of tenders by the Assistant Divisional

It is noticed that Assistant Divisional Engineer (H) Construction and Maintenance wings are
inviting tenders for a value of Rs.10,000/-as per powers delegated in the Tamilnadu Highways Manual
Vol,IV para 307 for piece works. Subsequently in the reference second cited the inviting powers of
Assistant Divisional Engineer (H) Construction and Maintenance, has been enhanced from Rs.10,000/-to
Rs.20,000/- and tenders are being invited accordingly.

In order to adopt effective implementation of tender procedure and tender transparency Act,
all the Superintending Engineer (H) Construction and Maintenance, are instructed to avoid giving
permission for calling of tenders for such piece works to the Assistant Divisional Engineer (H)
Construction And Maintenance ,Immediately.

The receipt of this memo should be acknowledged by return of post.
