My Teaching Philosophy

Introduction:

All young learners wait for teacher to start teaching them and tries her best to prepare all students to
be ready for the future. As a primary generalist student teacher in private and government schools, I
framed my own philosophy which is depend in my experiences during my teaching practice.
Further more, I believe that classroom management is a part of a successful educational
environment. Each semester, I assess my teaching by using management strategies which are
effective in students learning and behaviour. I believe using management strategy such as points
reinforcement will help the teachers to avoid misbehaviour in the classroom.

Learning Theory

I believe a good teacher must have different ways of teaching to match students learning style.
There are three different style which is kinaesthetic, auditory and visual. learner learn better when
the teacher uses differentiation during the lesson. In addition, using differentiation during the class
will benefit more in students learning according to each student’s level. Social constructivism it is a
theory talking about knowledge and development socially. In my teaching practice, I try as much as
I can to provide those three styles in my lessons. I try to use videos, games and speaking writing
skills. I used paris mixed level to encourage and help each other.

Strategies

I believe that communication is a major role of learning. As a teacher, I encourage my students to


communicate and share ideas to build their understanding and confidence. Thus, Researchers have
found that students' learning is enhanced when they have many chances to elaborate on ideas
through talk (Pressley, 1992). In my previous practice, I used difference strategies that encourage
communication. One of the strategies that I have used is Think pair and share together a strategy
which increase the oral communication skills. First, they think individually then discussing as a pair
after that sharing as the whole class. This strategy is allowing the studs to answer the questions and
share their ideas. Finally, from students answers, teacher can evaluate students understanding.

Value and UAE context:

Through my experience in UAE education field,I noticed the huge change that happened in ministry
of education in UAE. They try to prepare a new expert generation that work with UAE 2021vision
which to be the most innovative nations of the world.(Raffles). In my opinion, students and teachers
should use differences skills which is group work,critical thinking and modified to be successful. As
Im going to be a emirate teacher I have some values which are be caring,responsibility,honesty and
respect.

Conclusion:

To conclude, as a future teacher when I graduate, I know that it is the begging of improving. So I
will try to develop my self more to take a part in UAE education vision to create a high level
students with defences skills.
