Hacking with Heart Code of Conduct 
 
As participants, event hosts, and judges, we are committed to a safe, respectful, and fun 
experience at the Hacking With Heart event. 
 
We are committed to making participation in this event a harassment­free experience for 
everyone, regardless of level of experience, gender, gender identity and expression, 
sexual orientation, disability, personal appearance, body size, race, ethnicity, age, 
religion, or nationality. 
 
Examples of unacceptable behavior by participants include: 
 
● The use of sexualized language or imagery 
● Personal attacks 
● Insulting/derogatory (or "trolling") comments 
● Public or private harassment 
● Publishing other's private information without permission 
● Inappropriate violations of others’ personal space 
● Other unethical or unprofessional conduct 

 
We are committed to respecting and protecting the event space ­ St. Anthony’s 
Community room. 
 
Examples of unacceptable behavior include: 
● Damaging, defacing, or otherwise harming property of St. Anthony’s. 
● Taking or misappropriating St. Anthony’s property. 
 
The event staff retains the right to remove any participant for any behaviors that they deem 
inappropriate, threatening, offensive, or harmful to the event and or the environment. Egregious 
violations may result in dismissal from the event.  
 
By adopting this Code of Conduct, students and instructional staff commit themselves to fairly 
and consistently applying these principles to every aspect of participating in this event. 
 
REPORTING:  
Instances of abusive, harassing, or otherwise unacceptable behavior may be reported speaking 
with a member of the event staff. This can be done either in person or electronically via email to 
hackingwithheart@gmail.com . All complaints will be reviewed and investigated and will result in 
a response that is deemed necessary and appropriate to the circumstances. The event staff will 
maintain confidentiality with regard to the reporter of an incident. 
 
This code of conduct is adapted from the Kickstart Coding Code of Conduct.
