ABSTRACT

TheIntelCorei7procesoristhelatestincutingedgeprocesorwithfastest,inteligent,multicoretechnologyforthedesktopPC.IntelCorei7procesordeliversfourcompleteexecutioncoreswithinasingleprocesor,deliveringunprecedentedperformanceandresponsivenesinmu-th
lireadedandmu-taliskingbusinesandhomeusenvironments.Moreinstructioncsanbecariedoutperclockcycle,shorterandwiderpipelinesexecutecommandsmorequickly,andimprovedbuslanesmovedatthroughouthesystemfaster.Theirperformanceisalmostalwayshigher,whichisespecialyevidentincaseofmu-th

1.1 What is Processor ?

Aprocesorismultipurpose,programmabledevicethatreadbinaryinstructionsfrommemory,aceptsbinarydatasinputandprocesesdatacordingtothatinstruction,andprovidesresultsasoutput.

Itcanbeviewedasdatprocesingunitofacomputer.Ithascomputinganddecison-makingcapabilty.

1.2 Generation of Processor

InthisectionwediscusmaingeneartionsofprocesorofIntelfamily.

Intel 80386:

Intel80836isthefirst32-bitmicroprocesorincorporatingseveralmainframecomputerFeatures.Ithasextensivememorymanagementcapabiltes.Semiconductormanufacturingprocestechnologyusedis1.0µm(micrometer).Ithasintegratedmemorymanagementunit.

Intel 80486:

ItishefirstIntelmicroprocesorwithinternalcachememory.Itinstructionpipelineismoresophistcatedthanthatof80386specialy.Internaldatconversionlogicforboth8bitsubsystemand16-bitsubsystem.Semiconductormanufacturingprocestechnologyusedis1.0µmand0.8µm (micrometer).

Pentium processor:

ThePentiumishighlysophistcatedcomparedto80486.Pentiumprocesorhaseveralnewfeatureascomparedto80486th
