Introduction of XT-5ES and XT-6ES TM TM

Couplings
This IRM introduces newly released permanent couplings for use on XT-5ESTM and XT-6ESTM
hose.
Product
Couplings have been released, and available to be used as an alternative to any
XT-5ESTM and XT-6ESTM reusable coupling.
assemblies installed on new NPI machines, where designers have decided to use the
permanent coupling offering. The main benefit of the permanent coupling is to help in tight
areas, where space is minimal due to the smaller diameter of the crimped coupling in
comparison to a reusable coupling and sleeve combination. Another focus for these parts will be
on Hydraulic Mining Shovels, this extra clearance may be helpful where valve ports are close
together, or to ensure the access to flange fasteners. These couplings will be labeled with a new
designation XS6 as the coupling series, and requires the hose to be skived, similar to the
reusable couplings.

Cat Hose Tooling

XT-5ES & XT-6ES couplings can be used with the following Cat Hose Machines,
Software packages, and associated tooling:

CRIMPUTER III (C3) controlled machines software packages are now named according to the
hose machine they work with and will be followed by the date the package was created. Check
below to find the name of your machine and its associated part number. Software files dated
13April16 or later will be used to support this release.

Cat Production Crimper (CPC325) covers the following Cat part numbers:
423-4361 (machine group with accessories) 423-4362 (standalone machine)
Software Revision: HMI 5.213 PLC 1.000 Table Values 2.522
File name: CPC325-13April16

NOTE: Software series are sequential and grow with each new revision. Therefore any revision
number equal to or higher than ones stated in this document will contain all the latest crimp
information. You should always use the latest or highest revision level available on the DST
website when updating your Crimputer.
