There are more than 70 million homeless dogs
and cats in the United States. Only around 6 to 8
million dogs and cats enter a shelter each year.
From those shelters, only about 3.2 million dogs
and cats are adopted a year. This mean, due to
overpopulation 2.7 million dogs and cats are
being euthanaized in shelters every year.
Not only does spaying and neutering dogs and
cats provide many health benefits to the animal,
but it also can benefit local overpopulation issues
with dogs and cats.
In one year, one unspayed dog can lead to 16
off-spring. Spaying and neutering dogs and cats
can prevent unwanted off-spring, a help stop
overpopulation, and elimate eutanazation in local
shelters.

NEUTER VOUCHER:
The M-SNAP policy for reducing pet
overpopulation, agreed to by all members in
2008, is that we will send vouchers to residents
in need until our funds are exhausted. During
periods when we have no money, we will
maintain a wait list and resume distribution of
vouchers when new funds become available.
M-SNAP members support the philosophy that
money in the bank serves no good purpose while
homeless, innocent pets continue to be killed in
Monongalia County.
To request a voucher, call us at 304-985-0123 and
leave your name and phone number in mailbox
#1, along with the best time to reach you.
We respond to calls in the order they are
recorded and as quickly as we can.

TO M-SNAP
• Check contribution can be made payable to
M-SNAP and sent to PO Box 4335, Morgan-

• Contributions can be made through JustGive,

ognized as a M-SNAP supporter and M-SNAP
