CHAPTER 1

INTRODUCTION

Human beings are one of the most complex being on earth. Their

complexity knows no bounds that they can even make the most simple of

things like sex become an art and a science. So what comes into a person’s

mind when one talks about sex? Is it more about sexual intercourse or

likely be pornography? What one thinks about sex depends on a person’s

experiences, age, orientation and many more. Attitudes about sex have

become increasingly more permissive in the past years, so it is not

surprising to find another person who is more knowledgeable than others.

At an early age, children may be attached to parents and other family

members and may be avoidant to other people outside of their family.

However, as they grow, they will encounter all sorts of people between

the ages of 10 and 19 and a ‘young person’ between the ages of 15 to 24

and be drawn closer to them; especially to the opposite sex. Therefore,

other than attachment, attraction occurs and relationship in whatever form

happens. Both adolescents and young adults alike become involved in a

broad range of activities.
