Installing Oracle Developer suite 10g On Windows 8.

1 Pro 64 BIt (Not

recomended by Oracle)

We Have oracle EBS version 12.1.3 on Linux (Obviously)

As per oracle, to develop custom reports on EBS , we need to install base developer suite
10.1.2.0.2. Then need to install patch number 598362 in order to get the version 10.1.2.3.
But the version 10.2. 10.1.2.0.2 will support only 32 bit version WIN7. I having window 8.1Pro
64-bit.

However Please Follow the below steps and did it.

1.  Download the version 10.1.2.0.2

2.  You will be having DISK1 and DISK2 - folders.
3.  In Disk1 \install\oraparam
4.  Edit this file with notepad.. Enlarge for full size and go to second line. Search for
‘windows=5.0,5.1,5.2
5. Then add 6.0,6.1,6.2
6.  So now it look like Windows=5.0,5.1,5.2,6.0,6.0,6.1
7.  Save the file.
8.  Right click setup.exe properties -> compatibility tab & select
9.  Run this program for compatibility mode :Windows XP service pack 2
10.  Select ‘Run this program as an Administrator’
