Located on the south-facing wall of the Angels Trumpet Brew House on McKinley and
2ndStreet is an untitled art collaboration between Lalo Cota and Thomas “Breeze” Marcus. The
mural portrays a woman in the middle with wings and clouds sprouting to the right and left of
her. The woman is seen holding a tray with several drinks on it. Lola Cota painted the woman
while Thomas “Breeze” Marcus painted the wings. This mural is used effectively by the owners
of Angels Trumpet Brew House to attract people off the street to come to the restaurant.
The visual elements of this mural are possibly the most confusing piece to analyze. The
background of the mural is yellow, which the artists might have wanted to appear as a sun. This
gives the woman a divine appearance, with the wings and halo only adding to this allusion. The
woman herself does not display any emotion, but she holds the tray of drinks in a way that
makes her seem comfortable and welcoming. The colors used are red, yellow, white and brown.
The red is used for the wings, the yellow is used for the background and the girl’s dress, the
white is used for the clouds, and the brown is used for the girl’s hair and drink. The use of the
yellow background and the girl wearing a yellow dress brings attention to her because of the
contrast from the background to the wings and then to her. The fade of yellow on her dress
brings out the innocence displayed on the face of the girl by not being an eye-popping visual
that distracts the viewer. The wings are huge compared to this girl, who looks very small in this
mural. This gives her even more elegance and a sense of power that you wouldn’t have
expected if you just saw the face of the girl. The wings of the girl are not just a set of wings that
have no significant visual element to them. The wings have a texture that appears to be a set of
roses. The halo-like circle behind her hair has a scattered look with several different colors
making up the circle. This draws attention to her face because of the variety of colors around
her.

The people who created this mural for Angels Trumpet Ale House did not leave a
signature on the mural. The only writing on the mural is the logo of the ale house. The audience
for this mural is people over the age of 21 to attract them to go to this restaurant. This is evident
because of the girl holding the tray of drinks and the logo. The halo-like figure behind the
woman’s head does a good job of attracting the viewers’ attention to the middle of the mural and
to the tray of drinks. Pathos is used in a number of ways in this mural, through the use of the
emotion displayed on the woman’s face, the colors that bring attention to the girl and her drinks,
and the clothing she wears. The branding of the ale house on the side of the mural is a perfect
This mural is located on the southern wall of the Angels Trumpet Ale House. The area in
front of the mural is an empty lot that allows for the mural to be viewed from 2ndStreet and
McKinley. Lalo Cato and Thomas “Breeze” Marcus were commissioned by Mat and Sharry
Englehorn, the owners of Angels Trumpet Ale House. The mural was made in 2012 for the
opening of the bar. The purpose of the mural is to attract people to come to the bar.
The mural depicted on the south-facing wall of the Angels Trumpet Brew House is a
marketing strategy to attract customers into the restaurant. The large mural acts as a magnet for
anyone near 2ndand McKinley by its colors and imagery. The woman holding the glasses
immediately shows the viewer what they are selling in the restaurant and the audience they
wish to attract. The untitled mural by Lola Cota and Thomas “Breeze” Marcus is an amazing
artistic piece that works well to attract customers to the Angels Trumpet Brew House.
