Universal Design for Learning (UDL): I could address Universal Design for Learning by also including the colors
in different languages. I could do the native languages of some students that may be in my class, but also
some others just as practice. This connected PowerPoint allows students that are visual to excel, while also
allowing those that learn cognitively to participate as well. The students will also create their own art work.

Lesson idea implementation: I will start the conversation by asking the students what their favorite colors
are. When they answer, I will ask them if they can find anything around the classroom that is that color. We
will then listen and watch the PowerPoint as if it’s a book. The students will be encouraged to answer what
color the items are before the next slide that gives the answer. I will then have another activity that matches
pictures to the name of the color it shows. After this slideshow, the students will pick a color and draw
pictures of things that are that specific color, write the word and talk about what they are drawing and why
they’re including it in the picture. I will attach the student work to a page on the blog!

Importance of technology: The best part of having this blog is including the students and their families in
their work. The students can go home and show their parents what they and their peers have done. I enjoy
keeping the parents in the loop and they can get involved with the work.

Internet Safety and Student Privacy: The main safety issue with the blog is that the students’ information
might be exposed to others. I would prevent this by not including pictures of the actual children and their
faces, with by their names or at all. I would use only either their first name or their initials.

Reflective Practice: There is a lot of different ways to go from colors. I think it would be beneficial to keep
instilling these ideas in them and encouraging them to explore more themselves as well. I would encourage
students to go out and see what colors are in their environment and which are more prominent in different
places and environments. Exploring colors and where they show up is beneficial to vocabulary for these
students. You could allow them to play games on technology or apps that have to do with colors and
encourage parents at home to also encourage exploration in their students.
