Imagine winning a national championship, being invited to the White House for dinner, picturing
and almost expecting the fanciest dinner one could attend, only to find out that fancy dinner has
been replaced with, “would you like fries with that?”

That is what the College Football National Champions, the Clemson Tigers, arrived to as they
stepped foot in the White House for dinner.

From Wendy’s, to McDonalds, and Burger King, President Trump catered fast food which, as
reported by The Washington Post, was fully paid for out of his pockets.

The football players weren’t the only ones shocked by the array of McDonalds and Wendy’s
burgers embellished with silver platters and candlelight, people on all social media outlets
weighed in on the fast food buffet.

“We have Big Macs, we have Quarter Pounders with cheese,” President Trump exclaimed, “we
have everything that I like, that you like,” he continued according to The Post.
Since White House staff is experiencing a shortage, due to the shutdown, there weren’t many
options for a fancy dinner. Seeing as how football players are put on a healthy diet, Trump saw
it fit to give them a little break and offer a Quarter Pounder.

While he picked restaurants that would cater to the team, he too liked all of the options he
provided.

“I like it all.” “It’s all good stuff. Great American food,” he exclaimed to reporters according to
The New York Times.

After seeing pictures from the dinner on social media many people mocked and laughed at the
fast food buffet chiming in with tweets, videos, gifs, and posts about the Clemson football team’s
real reaction to the dinner.

It was a laughing frenzy for the rest of the world tuning in but still a great experience for the
national champs, who saw no harm or foul in eating their favorite drive-thru meals.

According to The Post, during the dinner the president also gave a speech praising the Tigers
and giving special mentions to cornerback A.J. Terrell, defensive coordinator Brent Venables,
and wide receiver Hunter Renfrow. These three players helped combat Alabama’s competitive
team.

With his concluding statement, the president finished his speech with, “To all of the amazing
athletes here today, that wiped more food than any human being has ever seen before,
including me — I’ve never seen so much — thank you for inspiring America.”

It was a unique and fun-filled experience for The Tigers who were greeted with congratulations,
double cheeseburgers, and many memories on being a part of a White House dinner that will
never be forgotten.
