LEGEND
The following elements are used in the exercise booklet as “interface” indicators:

Common Data > BPs > BPs ............This shows directions to a function from the general X3 menu (X3
menu path from standard Admin home page)
Tab
...............................................Indicates a tab in a multi-tab X3 function, such as Controls or
Financial in the Common Data > BPs > Customers function.
Field Field Value ..................................Indicates a screen field and the value that should be entered (if
necessary)
Check Box ........................................Shows a checkbox (or tick box) and its status
Button
...........................................Indicates an X3 button (located on the bottom part of the screen)
such as Create or Save or a toolbar button (top left icons) such as
New.
File > Print > List ...............................This shows the path to a top menu option (top menu bar)

PREAMBLE
In much of the processes where common data is created (such as Customers or Products) the
exercise notes mention XXX in the data codes or designations. Replace that with your own initials.
This is to distinguish your data from other delegate’s data in case the servers are shared.

1. LOGGING IN
Users in Sage ERP X3 v7
1) What are the two types of users that have to be set-up before any individual
can use the Sage ERP X3 v7

2) Will you be keying in all these users code every time you log-in?

3) When you log-in on your laptop, what type of authentication is used.

Duplicate an “Admin” user

• Call “Admin”.
• Change code and name and login. (X + your initials)
• Accept all the default values. Save. Ok.

User Preference Panel (quickAdmin)


• Create user.
• Fill-up the following zones:
o Login
o Password
o First and last name
• Select Add on Groups and select Super Administrators. Save.
• Select Add on Endpoints login, enter your user code in User login. Select an
Endpoint (SEEDCOP+X3 Folder). Save. OK.

Log-out and login using your user code.

Create a “Pupil” user.


Set-up>users

• Duplicate your user code (X+initial).

• Create a security profile : Pupil

d. Allow all the CRUD operations

• Create a role :

c. Security profile: Pupil
d. After validation of the creation, go back and view the security profile,
what is added?

• Create a group for the above-mentioned role.

• Now create your User code.

2. USER INTERFACE

Personalization

When personalizing a page, always get the “All” transaction selection.

Navigation page / Sales /Quotes


1. Personalize the Sales quotes.
a. Management tab : Make Tax/Currency collapsible.
b. Management tab : Put the 2nd sales rep below the first.
c. Invoicing tab : Put Settlement discount in line with payment
terms. Re-dimension the block.
d. Lines tab : Put in one line all the fields on the bottom.
e. Save as My Quotes.
2. Choose another page and carry out your own personalization.
3. Connect to these pages. Are they displayed as you have
personalized?
4. Go to the Sales orders. How will you know that there is no
personalization done on this screen?

4. OFFICE INTEGRATION

Click on the icon of your User Preference panel. Get quickAdmin.


On the Syracuse Tools, launch Install Addins for office. Follow the
installation instruction.
Open your Microsoft Excel. Can you see a difference? What function can
you see on the top of the page?

Go to your Home Page.


Call your landing page. (Techno Page) or click it on your favorites.
Let’s create our Office documents.
1. Excel
a. Click on YORDER details request
b. Launch the Excel report. Open the report.
c. Key in your user/password.
d. Do some verification: Tunnel to the product or to the
client.
e. Apply styles to your document.
f. Click on Save as. Valid the server.
g. Keyin user/password. You can see the Datasource
already created.
h. Publish. Description: Order details. Storage volume:
The storage volume you have created previously (if you
don’t have storage volume, you can put it on the “Temporary volume”).
i. Save.
j. Go to the List of documents. Can you see your created
document?

To go further: Add the list of users.


k. Open your document.
l. Click on Sage ERP X3
m.Make sure that you won’t be inserting on the existing
lines. (shifting policy= do nothing)

n. Click on Setting .
o. Select Datasource
p. Get Data model browse.
q. Get an endpoint(SEEDCOP)
r. Choose the entity = AUTILIS
s. Fetch all. +Apply.
t. Add styles to the table
u. Save. Close the document.

2. Word report
a. Call the representation of Account core model.
b. Create a word report.
c. Choose an existing template, if you got one go to “h”, if
not, create a new one.
d. Key in your User/password.
e. The template is displayed. Save it as report template.
i. Code: D01
ii. Description : Account
f. Create your word report.
g. Click on Preview. Save.
h. Key in user/password.
i. Save as document. My account. Give the description
and store it on the storage volume you have created
previously.
j. See the word document you have created (List of
documents).

For the daring: Create a word report from YORDER management.


k. Create a word report.
l. Preview. Save as document.
m.See the result on the List of documents.

3. The quotes: Navigation page > Viewpage


a. Call the Sales quotes.
b. Display one of the quotes on the list.
c. Print this quote in one of the languages proposed.
d. If you don’t agree with content, you can modify the
layout of the template.

4. Mail merge
a. List of users. Choose a group of users.
b. Launch Mail merge.
c. There’s no existing template for the moment. Let’s
create a new one.
d. Key in user/password.
e. The template presented just gives the list of fields that
can be used for the creation of the template. Let’s
modify it.
f. Remove the fields, and create your own.
i. Click on Mailings on the menu bar.
ii. Create your template using the fields that are
found on the list of “Insert merge field”.
iii. Save. (Save as mail merge template).
iv. Now launch the mail merge.
v. Choose the recipient of the mail.
vi. Save.

5. Powerpoint
a. Create Powerpoint slide from Yorder request execution.
b. Give a title and save it.

6. How can we know that it is possible to create office


document from a representation?

Creating a request is still done through GESALH function.


A. Create a request (EUCLIENT). A list of all customers that belong to
the category “EU” with the following information:
a. Name
b. Company
c. Country code
d. Country name
B. Create a menu item with the following parameters:
a. Link type: representation
b. Associated class: QUERY(‘EUCLIENT’)
c. Representation: QUERY~EUCLIENT~1.
d. Facet: Query
C. Add this menu item to your landing page: Customer
relation.
