I. Objectives
At the end of the lesson, the students will be able to:
a. Identify the characteristics, signs, and symptoms of malnutrition and
micronutrient deficiency.
b. Differentiate the malnutrition and micronutrient deficiencies
c. value the importance of nutrition
II. Subject matter
a. TOPIC: Nutrition
b. SUB-TOPIC: Malnutrition and Micronutrient Deficiencies
c. REFERENCE: Physical Education and Health Teacher’s Guide pp. 345 -348
d. MATERIALS: Laptop, speakers, manila paper, tape, marker, chalk
e. VALUE: Appreciate the importance of Nutrition
III. Procedure:
A. Daily Routine
a.) Opening Prayer
A student will lead the prayer.
b.) Greetings
(Classroom management)
c.) Checking of Attendance
The class monitor will check the attendance.

B. Recall of the Past Lesson


The teacher will ask the lesson last meeting.

C. Motivation
Task: Pass the message
The teacher whispers a message to one student. The message will now be passed in all of the
students by whispering to the next person and the next, until it reaches the last person.

Bad 3. Fruits and vegetables are the foundation of unhealthy diet.
Good 4. Avoid sugary drinks
Good 5. Nutrients are the substances in food that your body needs to grow, and supply with
energy.

IV. Evaluation

Malnutrition 1. It is a condition wherein a person is not getting enough of the


right food.
Over nutrition 2. It happens when a person eats and gets nutritional requirements
beyond the needed amount.
Vitamin A deficiency 3. What is the meaning of VAD?
Iron deficiency anemia 4. A condition in which the red blood cell count is less than normal.
Iodine deficiency disorder 5. It is results from lack of iodine in the diet.
V. Assignment
Write your answers on ½ crosswise paper.
