Xiaomi Mejia MI Sphere Camera

Xiaomi Mejia MI Sphere Camera, is a panoramic camera that shoots in 360 and was a
remodelling found on February 2018 by Xiaomi. It is recommended for individuals that are active in
sports or extreme sports, into photography, and those who record photos and videos for data collection or
educational purposes. The camera also comes with it kit freebies which is a small pouch and a mini tripod
stand. Overall, it is an affordable entry in the space that lets you capture your 360-degree experiences, edit
them, and easily share them with others. It also shoots in high-resolution, 360-degree images and video
which also has various shooting modes to fit ones like.

Summary of Findings

Xiaomi MI Sphere Camera is lightweight that weighs only 108.3 g and can fit in your pocket,
hand and also in your bag. It is also portable because of its small and compact design that makes it easier
for it to be brought around. The quality of Xiaomi Mejia MI Sphere Camera was evaluated based on three
standards: It’s High quality, WIFI Connectivity, and Water Resistance. -

In this process, we have tested the product in various places with different brightness of lights to
determine its High quality image capturing. For its WIFI Connectivity, we took photos with various
distance in order to test how far will it connection reach. Lastly with its Water Resistance where we
dipped the camera in a water and took a photo and video.

High Quality

The high quality of 360 Camera is a field of view for an unlimited experience and it has a great
actual image and video quality. It is an excellent camera for those who take photography. Not only for
shoot larger photos, but also beautiful details image too. Determining the high quality of 360 cameras is
excellent capture of details and deals well with direct sunlight.

The photo quality can shoot 23 megapixel photos in a resolution of 6921 x 3456, the more pixels
the better actual image that you will capture. Also it can shoot larger 360 photos than other same cameras
that are double as expensive.

The video quality was limited to 3.5K resolution. The image sensors of 360 Camera can supports
up to 3456x1728/30fps or 2304x1152/60 fps. The video shot is often with features the excellent
frequency range and precise stitching. In stitching is the most accurate it is because of the lenses that has
two thin lenses close together to create the 360 image. Movements are smooth and the balance of light is
well managed.

WiFi

Pairing with the Mi Sphere with your phone is a pain. There's no Bluetooth, only WiFi, and the
app requires you to manually connect each and every time you boot the camera and app. I wish the two
would connect automatically, as this would save a lot of time and hassle. That said, the direct WiFi
connection is way faster than Bluetooth at transferring files. The WiFi range is really good, too: easily
100 feet or more. That means you can set the Mi Sphere down and step away before shooting.

Water Resistance

With Xiaomi Mijia MI Sphere there is no need to worry about water damage when you are in the rain or
snow. The Xiaomi Mijia MI Sphere is water resistant. Water resistance is the ability to resist the
penetration of water. It is determined by how long the camera can withstand water pressure until the water
starts to leak inside the camera.

To assess how resistant to water the camera is, we dipped it in a bowl of water while recording a
video. After 5 minutes, we removed the camera from the bowl of water, waited for a few more minutes
then dippped the camera again. We would dip the camera into the bowl of water every 5 minutes to see
how long it can withstand water pressure. The camera was able to withstand water pressure for about 15
minutes.

Conclusion and Recommendation

Overall the The Xiaomi Mi Sphere 360 camera has the best photo and video quality,
because of its excellent photo controls and extra detailed image.

It is water resistant. It can last for as long as 15 minutes underwater while recording a video or
taking a photo.

Xiaomi should research a way to make the camera better especially it’s outer casing, we
have found out that when shooting, the cameras temperature rise up. It was said that is was
normal because of its small size and its auminum alloy casing. There is also a gel casing for the
camera to withstand the heat for a period of time which is sold separately.
