Galería Mutt
MUTT es una galería nómade de arte contemporáneo ubicada en
Santiago de Chile que promueve espacios donde artistas –tanto
emergentes como consolidados– pueden realizar exposiciones,
residencias y diferentes tipos de proyectos.
Enfocados en mostrar lo mejor del arte actual, con las
particularidades de cada discurso y contexto, se establece como
un canal de interacción entre creadores, coleccionistas y amantes
del arte de todo el mundo, con la finalidad de promover nuevos
artistas y discursos.

Created by art dealer Nicolás Mardini, MUTT is a traveling

contemporary art gallery; a space that houses exhibitions by
emerging and high-level artists, an art projects office and a place
for art residencies.
Based in Santiago de Chile, the gallery seeks out high-quality

Biografía
Talca, 1976
Artista visual y dibujante con estudios de Licenciatura en
Bellas Artes en Universidad Arcis.
Desde 1995 a 1998 realiza una estadía en el departamento
de Anatomía de la Universidad de Chile, donde comienza un
trabajo desde la ilustración médico - científica que continúa
hasta el año 2009.
Luego de eso desarrolla una propuesta de obra desde el
dibujo y desde entonces ha estado en ferias y exposiciones
individuales y colectivas como ArteBa, Ch.ACO, Galería
Animal, Galería Mutt, Espacio O, Museo de Arte
Contemporáneo y Galería NAC. En 2016 es ganador del
Premio CA.SA, entregado en feria Ch.ACO 2016.
Actualmente se encuentra en la preparación de la exposición
“Memoria Natural”, que se realizará en el Museo de Arte
Contemporáneo en 2018.

Visual artist with studies of Bachelor of Fine Arts in Arcis
University.
From 1995 to 1998 he worked in the Department of Anatomy
of the University of Chile, where he began working with the
medical-scientific illustrations. After that, he developed a
proposal of work based in drawings, and since then he has
been in fairs and individual and collective exhibitions such
as ArteBa, Ch.ACO, Animal Gallery, Mutt Gallery, Space O,
Museum of Contemporary Art and NAC Gallery. In 2016 he
won the CA.SA Award, presented at the Ch.ACO 2016 fair.
He is currently in preparation of the exhibition “Memoria
Natural”, which will be held at the Museum of Contemporary
Art in 2018.
 Entiendo el dibujo como un pensamiento que se
despliega en imagen, imagen que es reflejo del
territorio vivenciado. Desde esa superposición
de memorias, surge, representado, el mundo que
mi dibujo despliega para sustentar su razón.
Con los mínimos recursos, carboncillo sobre
papel, o tinta china sobre papel, pretendo dar
cuenta de un tiempo humano, uno que centra
su reflexión desde el hacer para acceder a la
memoria personal, que por singular no deja de
ser colectiva.
La presencia de la naturaleza en mi trabajo
tiene la intención de rescatar las memorias mas
limpias, primero como un paisaje total, luego
como una sumatoria aleatoria de elementos
en convivencia, para finalmente ir desgranando
las partes hasta convertirlas en fragmentos
independientes, rocas, plantas, hojas, etc.
Pretendo dar cuenta del tiempo del dibujo
como insistencia, resistencia y de su vigencia
como herramienta para la representación de
los contenidos que constituyen lo que somos
en contraposición a la mediatización de la
representación imperante.

I understand drawing as a thought that unfolds
in an image, an image that reflects the territory
experienced. From that superposition of
memories, the world that my drawing displays
to sustain its reason arises, re-presented.
With the minimum resources, charcoal on paper,
or ink on paper, I intend to give an account of
a human time, one that focuses its reflection
from doing to access personal memory, which
singularly does not cease to be collective.
The presence of nature in my work has the
intention of rescuing the cleanest memories,
first as a total landscape, then as a random sum
of elements in coexistence, to finally unravel the
parts until they become independent fragments,
rocks, plants, sheets, etc.
I intend to give an account of the time of the
drawing as an insistence, resistance and its
validity as a tool for the representation of
the contents that constitute what we are as
opposed to the mediatization of the prevailing
representation.
