Washing Machine

The most important tool in your laundry room is your washing machine. While there are lots of fancy
machines available with multiple settings, you need a machine that will fit in your laundry room and
handle the amount of laundry your family creates. If you take the regular time to clean your washing
machine and remove smelly odors, it will extend its life and the amount of time it can serve you and your
laundry.

Dryer
Only slightly less important and used in the laundry room is a clothes dryer. While many people prefer
to hang their laundry to dry, there is no doubting the convenience an automatic clothes dryer provides.
Keep the dryer clean checking often to make sure no debris or crayon stains are on the interior drum.

Drying Rack

A drying rack is a simple tool that you can drape delicate clothing on to dry. Some fabric types or types of
clothing don't do well in the dryer. These items may be listed on the tag as "hang to dry." A drying rack is
a convenient item that allows these pieces of clothing to dry by hand in the laundry room, out of the
way.

Iron

If your laundry room has space, storing your iron there is a natural fit. Many people like to iron their
clothes directly when they come out of the dryer. It is an efficient practice since clothes will have fewer
wrinkles straight from the dryer and take less time to iron. One of the major ironing mistakes that people
make is trying to iron clothes that have been over-dried or left in the dryer for too long.

Ironing Board

One of the best ironing board options for a laundry room is a fold out ironing board that can be tucked
away when not in use. There are also some people who prefer to lay an ironing board across a counter
top in their laundry room. A good ironing board with plenty of mesh or metal holes to allow air to
penetrate through is the best option. It will reduce your ironing time and give you better results.
