COMMENTS ON GM HOPD VALVES

QAP:

1. Operational Check also shall be 100% instead of Random.

2. Quantum of check by Client shall be 100% instead of 10%.

SLUICE VALVE:

1. Size of Hand wheel dia shall be 450mm as per IS Instead of 360mm proposed.
2. In the Flange drilling details it is mentioned that “H number holes I drilled hole ….” However
detail of I was not mentioned in the table. Probably it is J same shall be corrected.

HYDRAULIC OPERATED SLUICE VALVE:

1. In the Flange drilling details it is mentioned that “H number holes I drilled hole ….” However
detail of I was not mentioned in the table. Probably it is J same shall be corrected.

CYLINDER SIZING CALCULATION:

1. It is mentioned that Minimum oil supply pressure as 140 bar where as in the bore size
calculation it is shown as 104 bar. Same shall be corrected.

HYDRAULIC CIRCUIT:

1. As per Electrical circuit it is shown that for emergency close –SOL-2 & SOL-1 are in operation till
0-90% close and SOL-2 and SOL-4 are in operation for Last 10% close. Hence shall be reviewed
and corrected.
2. Hydraulic power pack CUT IN pressure was mentioned as 80bar. Where as in the cylinder size
calculation it is mentioned as 140bar. In hydraulic circuit it is mentioned as 95 bar. Same shall be
uniform in all location.

ELECTRICAL CIRCUIT:

1. In hydraulic motor on/off circuit R6 “NO” contacts are used prior to the motor selector switch.
Same shall be replaced with R7-NC and R7-NO contacts for proper operation.
2. As per valve operation table --- for Emergency close valves SOL1 &4 shall be in operation for last
10% close and SOL1 in operation for 0-90% close. Where as in Electrical circuit it is shown that
for emergency close –SOL-2 & SOL-1 are in operation till 0-90% close and SOL-2 and SOL-4 are in
operation for Last 10% close. Hence shall be reviewed and corrected.
3. As valves SOL-1 & SOL4 shall be in operation for last 10% close operation . R21 NC contact shall
not be used in series with SOL-1. It shall be used for SOL-2 circuit if SOL-1,2 shall be in operation
for 0-90% close operation.Same shall be reviewed and corrected.
4. Hydraulic power pack CUT IN pressure was mentioned as 80bar. Where as in the cylinder size
calculation it is mentioned as 140bar. In hydraulic circuit it is mentioned as 95 bar. Same shall be
uniform in all location.
5. CUT-OFF Pressure switch nomenclature was wrongly mentioned in page 24/36. Same shall be
corrected as CUT-OFF instead of CUT-IN.
 6. In sheet 24-36 S1 and S2 solenoid nomenclature shall be interchanged.
7. In SCADA signals “HYD motor-1 OFF” and “HYD motor-2 OFF” shall also be included.
8. Sheet 31/36 is irrelevant as it belong to EOPD valve, same shall be discarded.

OPERATION PHILOSOPHY:

1. In Section-2 Pump ON & OFF PBs shall be changed to PB1&2, PB3&4 instead of PB2&1, PB4&3.
2. Pump cut-in pressure was mentioned as 95 bar. Same shall be uniform throughout the drawings.
3. AS per literature also for emergency closing only SOL-1 and SOL4 in picture. But in electrical
diagram SOL-2 is also in picture. Same shall be reviewed and corrected in respective
circuits/literatures.
