SUB-CONTRACT AGREEMENT

This Agreement is made between M/s. Al-Jaber Trading & Contracting Co. W.L.L., P.
O. Box 1120, Doha-Qatar ( hereinafter called the Contractor and First Party) and M/s.
TEYSEER BLDG. MATERIALS & TRANSPORT CO. W.L.L. represented by Mr.
Mohammad Jamil Kanwar – General Manager, P. O. Box 4333, Doha-Qatar (hereinafter
called the Sub-Contractor and Second Party).
This Agreement refers to the Supply, Cut, Bend, Delivery and Fixing to designated
Location of Fabricated Reinforcing Steel Bars (hereinafter called the “Works” ) to be
executed by the Second Party in respect of the On–Going Project to the First Party i.e.
“WOMENS CLUB SPORTS HALL PKG -2” (hereinafter called the “Works ).
I) SCOPE OF WORKS
The Second Party shall Cut, Bend, Supply and Fix High Yield Reinforcement
manufactured by M/s Qatar Steel co. to their QD 43 standard with minimum high
yield strength of 43kg/ mm2 (equivalent to ASTM A615 Grade 60) cut to lengths not
exceeding 12 meter, Cut and Bend in accordance with BS 4466, bundled and labeled
and invoiced to net theoretical weights.
Further to the above the Second Party will also fix the rebar available at Site which
have been already cut and bent by the steel fixers of the First Party..

The works shall comprise the following :

a) Supply, Cut, Bend and Delivery of High Yield Reinforcing Steel Bars as required.

b) Fixing of Fabricated Rebar to the designated location including cover blocks.


Cover blocks will be supplied by the First Party.

c) Delivery, unloading should be to the designated areas, locations at the Project Site
as instructed by Project Manager of the First Party.

d) Second Party will Mark the bars as per Bar Bending Schedule on the detailed
drawings provided by the First Party

e) Prepare Bar Bending Schedule in accordance with the Approved Drawings for
Construction approved by the Client / Consultant.

f) Lifting/ shifting of steel to the designated locations. Wherever / whenever possible
the First Party will assist by providing laborers and by allowing the Second Party
to use their standing facilities.

The following Documents shall constitute an integral part of this Sub-Contract


Agreement ;

1.0 Contract Documents:

1.1 Technical Proposal by the Second Party, Delivery Schedule and


Approved Bar Bending Schedule/Shop Drawings.

2.0 The mutually agreed Programme of works by both the Parties as indicated in
Clause IV of this agreement.

II) SUB CONTRACT PRICE

1.0) The Second Party agrees to carry out & complete the above mentioned Works for
the Total Amount of Supply, Cut, Bend, Delivery and Fixing of Fabricated High Yield
Reinforcing Bars of

2.0) For the fixing of rebars which are already fabricated by the First Party, the
First Party shall pay the Second Party QR 350.00 per Ton

Note:
1. The Final quantities will be as per the actual quantity supplied and fixed at Site by
Second Party as per Delivery Notes verified and signed by First Party’s Project Manager.

III) TERMS OF PAYMENT

In consideration of the payment to be made by the First Party to the Second Party as
herewith mentioned, the Second Party hereby undertake with the First Party to execute

and complete the works in full conformity with the provisions of this Sub-Contract
Agreement.

In consideration of the execution and completion of the works, the First Party hereby
undertake to pay the Second Party the Sub-Contract Price for this Sub-Contract
Agreement at the times and manner stated below;

a) Progress Payment for the Second Party shall be made by an Irrevocable Letter of
Credit. Payment Terms shall be 90 days from the date of Invoice and backed by
the Purchase order of the First Party.

IV) COMMENCEMENT AND COMPLETION OF THE WORKS

a) The First Party will send a written requisition to the Second Party Two (2) days
before the actual required starting date for the required part of the rebar works
for the required elements of the required buildings.

b) The Second Party shall complete the Works which are informed as stated in item
(a) above within 4 to 5 days from the required starting date as mentioned above

c) Any delay beyond the period mentioned in item (b) above will be construed as
Delay on part of the Second Party. However if the delay is due to the reasons
solely attributable to First Party then the Second Party shall not be held
responsible.

V) MANPOWER

The Second Party shall provide qualified and adequate manpower to carry out and
complete the works in accordance with the provisions of this Sub-Contract Agreement.

The First Party shall have the right to remove incompetent workers which shall be
replaced immediately by the Second Party.

The Second Party shall deploy 30 to 40 steel Fixers, to meet the works requirement of the
First Party. If the Second Party does not deploy the said Manpower and the works of the
First Party get delayed as stated above in Clause IV (a) , (b) and (c), the, the First Party
reserves the right to make up the shortfall in the requirement of 30 to 40 steel fixers from
a third party and deduct the Costs arising on account of the above from the account of the
Second Party.

VI) INSURANCE

The Second Party shall be responsible for the Insurance of Manpower supplied at Site and
Vehicles used at Site.

VII) SAFETY REQUIREMENT

The Second Party shall strictly comply with the Safety Regulations / Requirements
imposed at the Site. The Second Party shall ensure that all his personnel shall use the
following protective devices:

a) Safety Helmets and safety shoes which must be worn while in the vicinity of any
construction activity.
b) Safety goggles or face shields which must be worn while performing grinding,
chipping, chiseling cuttings works.

VIII) SETTLEMENT OF DISPUTE

Any dispute or difference of any kind whatsoever shall arise between the First Party
and Second Party in connection with or arising out of this Sub-Contract Agreement in
carrying out the Works shall be referred to and settled under the Qatari Court of Law.

Sub-Contract Agreement.
