Assignment Title: Q2 End of unit Chaucer Essay

Student Writing Goal: My writing goal is to score 80% or higher when it comes to my essays. I want to be able to stay
consistent and on top of my work at all time and don’t leave it till last minute to do.

Instructions:
1) Re-read the paper (and teacher feedback).
2) Complete this reflection sheet.
3) Revise the paper accordingly and highlight any changes.
4) Submit the revision and this reflection sheet.

What was the purpose of this writing assignment?

- The purpose of this writing assignment was to challenge us to find minimal evidence since there
wasn’t much that could support our topic. We had to focus on explaining Chaucer’s definition by
choosing love, honor, or loyalty which was somewhat difficult because we had to back it up with
quotes and evidence.

How did you perform in relation to the expectations of the writing rubric?
- I feel like I could have done better because for starters it was a 3-paragraph essay and I forgot to
introduce one of the quotes. I also didn’t put that much effort in changing the title to something more
interesting and finally I forgot to write my work cited page.

What aspect of this piece did you do well? (give example/quotes to support claims)
- There were many aspects that I slacked on but there were some that I did pretty good on which was
summarizing what The Wife of Bath’s Tales was about. Another piece where I did well on was on my
punctuation and supporting my quote.

Why have you/haven’t you chosen to revise this writing assignment?

- I chose to revise my essay because most part of it I forgot to add what was important such as
introducing my quotes and my work cited page. Also, I had to make some changes on the second
paragraph where I was talking in first person.

What will you do better in your next writing assignment, and how will I do it?
- In my next writing assessment, I will make sure to proof read it before turning it in and have the
correct format and header. I always seem to rush through it and forget that when writing an essay, I
can’t write it in first person using the words ‘we, you, I etc’.

To what degree of success did you achieve your previously stated goal(s)?
- I believe I didn’t achieve my goal on this assignment as I wished I did. I know I could have done better
especially with it only being a 3-paragraph essay. I didn’t manage my time and tried as hard which I will for my
next assignment.
