FINAL DAY TO EARN AR POINTS FOR A MEDAL IS MONDAY, APRIL 29TH!

CHANGE OF DATES for Honor Roll Assemblies: The dates for the first-fourth grade honor roll assemblies and the
5th grade Aloha Ceremony have been changed; apologies for the change of date it was unavoidable. This was also
relayed in Parentlink and Dojo messages. The Honor Roll Assemblies will be on Wednesday, May 22nd with the following
times: 1st grade 9:15 am, 3rd grade 10:15 am, 2nd grade 12:30 pm, and 4th grade 1:30 pm. The fifth grade Aloha Ceremony will
be on Thursday, May 23rd after the Dance off at 10:30 am.

DMC Garden Night Wednesday, May 1st: We are hosting

a picnic night at Cox on May 1st from 5:30-7:00 pm. This
will be a time for you and your family to bring blankets and
dinner, eat outside on our field, view our garden, and we’ll be
sampling some of the harvest. It doesn’t cost, there’s nothing
going to be sold, we’re just outside enjoying the garden and
picnic dinners with our families!

DMC PTA Family Dinner Night: April 30th is our monthly Family Dinner Night and tomorrow it’s at “Me Gusta Tacos” in
The District from 3 pm – 9 pm. Fliers are coming home tonight, Monday.

Teacher Appreciation Week is Coming: Next week is Teacher Appreciation Week and each day we are asking that you help
celebrate our awesome staff here at DMC. The PTA is providing Café Rio luncheon on Wednesday for them and we always
appreciate their luncheons for us! Thank you PTA. The following are appreciation gift suggestions for the week:
Monday 5/6 – Sweet Treat
Tuesday 5/7 – Special Note/Card/Thank you letter
Wednesday 5/8 – Flower or small gift card
Thursday 5/9 – Supply for their desk
Friday 5/10 – Favorite drink
Field Day is Friday: This Friday is our annual Field Day for our school from 9:15-11:00, it’s not supposed to be too hot but
we still ask that your child brings a hat to wear, a water bottle with their name on it, and has sunscreen on before they get to
school. We do have water games, so please bring a towel and possibly a change of clothes in their backpacks. ***Parents,
although we have water activities you cannot bring water squirt guns to keep the kids cool.***

Specialist Trophy Winners for March & April: Congratulations to the following classes for earning top behavior points for
the March/April months: Mrs. Froehlich’s Kindergarteners, Mrs. Anderson’s First Graders, Ms. Wolfer’s Second Graders,
Mrs. Tanner’s Third Graders, Mrs. Stackel’s Fourth Graders, and Mr. Shafran’s Fifth Graders! Great behavior Cox Cubs!
Final Weeks of School: Parents, as we are closing out the school year, the temps are beginning to rise. For any day in which
the temperature is at 100 degrees during lunchtime the students have the option to remain inside for recess. If we have
temperatures which reach 105 then we have automatic indoor recess for all students. Please make sure your student is bringing
a water bottle to school with their name on it as it can be refilled throughout the day, they have sunscreen on, and can wear a
hat when outside. Students should not be wearing sweatshirts and/or jackets and when it’s hot outside we will not allow them
to wear heavy jackets outside.

Inclement Weather Today at School: Parents, although the rain did not come until after our lunches, we did have to bring
the second lunch students inside during their recess because we observed lightning outside. We kept third lunch inside as we
continued to see lightning outside.

DMC Staffing 2019-2020: April 30th is deadline to submit a teacher request for 2019-2020. No letters accepted after that
date. This is only a request and not all requests can be given. No letters of requests will be accepted after April and if
staffing changes are made, a second request will NOT be possible. All classroom assignments for Cox are mailed out at the
end of June along with supply lists. Administration DOES NOT meet with parents or respond to emails because their
request was not granted. ***All grade level teachers can change throughout the summer.
