project report at “ SOMAYAJI INDUSTRIES LTD., MANGALORE ” is prepared by me
under the guidance of Mrs. TANIYA THOMAS, Assistant Professor, Department of
Management Studies, Sir M. Visvesvaraya Institute of Technology, Bangalore.
I also declare that this project report work is towards the partial fulfillment of the University
regulations for the award of degree of Master of Business Administration by Visvesvaraya
Technological University, Belagavi.
I have undergone an Internship project for a period of six weeks. I further declare that this
project is based on the original study undertaken by me and has not been submitted for the
award of any degree/ diploma from any other University/ Institution.

Executive Summary
Retailers are those people who purchase the goods from the distributors or whole sales
or directly from the manufacturers and sell them to the final consumers. They usually
operate in a retail outlet and sell the product to the consumers. So, the retailers are the
last link in the distribution channel, they study the reaction of the customer and know the
requirement customer better than any others.
This project report has been divided into five chapters. This includes the objectives,
scope of the study, research method adopted, the profile of industry, the analysis of
financial statement of the company, the analysis of strength, weakness, opportunities and
threats, dada analysis, interpretation, findings and suggestions. The study is conducted to
know the retailers satisfactions towards Somayaji wood products and service offered.
The data are collected from primary source, preparing questionnaires and by studying
journals and internet. The sample size taken for the study is 100 respondents. The data
analyzed properly and presented by using proper statistical tools.
In this research most of the retailers wish to sell Somayaji wood products to the
customer. The retailer’s opinion is that many customers preference for brand is Somayaji
wood industry because of the good quality and the great distribution network in and
around Mangalore.
