Executive Summary
I have help the Redcard numbers increase by 20% during the months of June and July 2018. I
showed that I was loyal to the job and that I was dependable by coming in on time each day I
was scheduled to work during the month of June. Also, I have showed some qualities of being a
leader that others did not show that lead me to get employee of the month during the month of
June 2018.
Accomplishments
● Employee of the month June 2018.
● Employee who was never late for the month of June 2018.
● Employee who pitched more Redcards than the others June-July 2018.
Areas of improvement
● Technology: Over past six months, Target renovated the entire store. I was away at
school while the renovation took place. The new registers are programmed differently
than the ones they use to have. I need to get use to the new update and become faster on
the register again.
● Communication Skills: Within the past year, I noticed that I am not as friendly as I use
to be. I make sure that I talk to all guest, but I don’t hold long conversations with them
anymore. Also, I noticed that I don’t talk to my coworkers as much either. Each time I
leave to go to school and come back I realize that my communication skills weaken.
● Time Management: Over the past six months, I have learned how to manage my
personal life and work life more efficiently. I go home some weekends to work and
outside of work I must stay on top of my school work. So, whenever I go home, I make
sure to have all school work completed first.
Areas of Continuing Learning and Development
● Staying on top of all sales and promotions: If I know that I am going to work on the
weekend I need to look at all sales and promotions going on in the store so when people
get in line and have any questions, I will be able to answer them. I also need to stay on
top of sales and promotions because sometimes the register does not always discount the
price, knowing what sales and promotions are going on I can adjust the price of thee
product myself and not have to call a manager for help.
● Understanding all policies: As a Target employee, new Redcard policies come out all
the time. The guest will always get 5% off each purchase once they become Redcard
holders but sometimes the store will tell you that any guest who gets a Redcard will get
15% off their purchase when they sign up. Because the policy always changes, they may
lower or higher the percentage off.
Looking Ahead
In the next year I plan to no longer be an employee at Target. I have been at Target since I was
17 a senior in high school and I will be 21 soon and a college graduate. Target is a nice job to
have while being in school because they work around my school schedule but once I graduate
and find a career, I will let Target go.
