The Son of Elohim

Who was Yeshua? – Part 1

Luqa (Luke) 1:35

And the messenger answered and said to her, “The Ruach Qodesh shall come
upon you, and the power of Elyon shall overshadow you; therefore also the holy thing
which is begotten shall be called the Son of Elohim.”

For two thousand years there has been much discussion and debate about the person of
Mashiach Yeshua. Some say that He was just a man. Others say that He was a prophet. Still others
say that He was the Mashiach, but not the physical offspring of YHWH. So, we are going to carefully
and prayerfully examine what Scripture says concerning this matter. In the end He is who He is
regardless of what any man thinks or says about Him. So, it is wise to see what He says about
Himself to understand this important concept.
Most today understand what a surrogate mother is. This is a woman who has agreed to
carry in her womb the fertilized seed of another. The surrogate mother contributes no DNA material
to the child she carries in her womb as the egg is from another woman. This is not uncommon these
days. In vitro fertilization is a multi-million dollar industry today.
But what most do not realize is that YHWH did this very thing two thousand years ago. You
see, what is commonly taught in Christianity cannot be true: that YHWH, via the Holy Spirit, fertilized
one of Mary’s eggs. This cannot be true because this is breaking Torah, as Mary, (actually Miriam)
was not married to YHWH, but betrothed to Yoseph.
But let us read again the above passage and notice that it is not only the Ruach Qodesh (Holy
Spirit) involved in placing this child in the womb of Miriam. Rather it is also Elyon as well as the
Ruach Qodesh. Once a person sees this, then he begins to see that both parents of Mashiach were of
divine origin, not just one. Both the Father (Elyon) and the Mother (Ruach Qodesh) were
manifestations of Elohim, creating in the womb of Miriam the second Adam.
When Elohim made the first Adam He did so out of substance that was pure and not cursed.
But after man sinned and became cursed, Elohim also cursed the ground because of man’s sin. After
man’s sin everything in this created realm became cursed. As a result of that curse all of creation is
laboring in a manner that is beyond its original creation.

Romans 8:22
For we know that the whole creation groans and travails in pain together until
now.
Herein lies one of the keys to understanding the divine nature of Mashiach Yeshua. Scripture
teaches us that Mashiach Yeshua is the second or last Adam. This should teach us that He also had
shared characteristics with the first Adam that the rest of us do not share; namely, that both the first
and second Adam were made out of substance that had never been cursed. However, if Miriam
contributed one of her eggs then this cannot be true, for she was born under this curse from the first
Adam. Miriam only contributed the womb, not an egg. She contributed no DNA.
But, one will object, if Mashiach is the son of David, then she had to contribute an egg. No,
this is not true. Still others object saying that Yeshua had to be the son of Yoseph because the seed is
passed on from father to son and not through the woman. Please notice this next passage.
Matithyah (Matthew) 3:9
“and think not to say within yourselves, ‘We have Avraham as our father’; for I say
to you, that Elohim is able of these stones to raise up children to Avraham.”
YHWH our Elohim is not limited as a man is limited. Man is limited to following certain
physical limitations that YHWH placed in His creation. However, the very Creator of DNA can create a
man to be of any lineage that He so desires. This would certainly include Mashiach being of the line
of David. But Mashiach is not only the offspring of David; He is also the Father of David, or his
ancestral root.

Gilyana (Revelation) 22:16

“I Yeshua have sent My messenger to testify to you these things for the
assemblies. I am the root and the offspring of David, the bright, the morning star.”
Why is it easy to understand that Mashiach Yeshua is both the root and offspring of David,
understanding His pre-existent nature, but then not understand that He was these things before
David was even born? He is who He is regardless of what we believe. He is these things because He
has always been these things! He has not changed! YHWH is the Father of David as well as the Son of
David. Yeshua is related to David because David is related to YHWH before He became His offspring.

Malachi 3:6
“For I, YHWH, change not; therefore you, sons of Ya’aqov, are not consumed.”
But, one will object, this is speaking of YHWH, not Mashiach Yeshua. Is that a valid objection?
Who is Yeshua? Is He not YHWH in the flesh? To be sure! But let us examine this more closely to see
that this is indeed what Scripture teaches us!

Ya’aqov (James) 5:7

Be patient therefore, brethren, until the coming of YHWH. Behold, the
husbandman waits for the precious fruit of the earth, being patient over it, until it
receive the early and latter rain.
In referring to the return of Mashiach Yeshua, Ya’aqov calls Him “YHWH.” This is taken from
the Peshitta as this is what it records: that it will be YHWH returning. This is a direct reference to
Yeshua being YHWH in the flesh.

Yochanan (John) 3:13

“And no one has ascended into heaven, but He that descended out of heaven, even
the Son of man, who is in heaven.”
Yeshua in speaking to Naqdimon (Nicodemus) tells him that not only had He descended out of
heaven, but that He would also ascend back up into heaven. But that is not all. Yeshua also tells him,
that even as they were speaking, He was also in heaven. Once again, mainline Christianity wrongly
teaches that when Mashiach Yeshua was in His earthly body He was not for that period of time
Omnipresent. However, this false teaching does not match up with the words of Mashiach Himself.
Yeshua told Naqdimon that He was in more than one place at a time as they were speaking: both on
earth and in heaven.
If what Mashiach said was not true then He is a liar and a fraud and is nothing. But it is not
Mashiach who is the liar; but rather, it is man.

Romans 3:4
Elohim forbid; yea, let Elohim be found true, but every man a liar; as it is written,
That You might be justified in Your words,
And might prevail when You come to judgment.
The testimony of that which is recorded is clear, if one is willing to accept it for what it says.
Yochanan (John) 14:11
“Believe Me that I am in the Father, and the Father in Me; or else believe Me for the
very works' sake.”
The works that Yeshua did bear witness to His identity as well as to His nature.

Luqa (Luke) 7:22

And He answered and said to them, “Go and tell Yochanan the things which
you have seen and heard; the blind receive their sight, the lame walk, the lepers are
cleansed, and the deaf hear, the dead are raised up, the poor have good tidings
preached to them.”
These are all things that are spoken of in the prophets which Mashiach would do when He
came. The first one is one upon which we want to focus at this time because it is one of the most
telling. Yeshua healed many blind people. This was to show who He is, if one is willing to receive this
truth.

Yeshayah (Isaiah) 42:6-7

6 “I, YHWH, have called you in righteousness, and will hold your hand, and will
keep you, and give you for a covenant of the people, for a light of the nations;
7 to open the blind eyes, to bring out the prisoners from the dungeon, and them
that sit in darkness out of the prison-house.”
YHWH is speaking through His prophet Yeshayah about the coming of Mashiach. YHWH states
that this coming anointed one will open the eyes of the blind as well as other things. But now look at
what this next passage states concerning the healing of the blind.

Tehillim (Psalm) 146:7-8

7 Who executes justice for the oppressed?Who gives food to the hungry?
YHWH releases the prisoners;
8 YHWH opens the eyes of the blind; YHWH raises up them that are bowed down;
YHWH loves the righteous;
Do you see? YHWH states that those things that Mashiach will do when He comes can only be
done by YHWH Himself. YHWH is telling us that He will be Mashiach. We will examine this more
below.

Yochanan (John) 9:16

Some therefore of the Pharisees said, “This man is not from Elohim, because He
does not keep the Shabbat.” But others said, “How can a man that is a sinner do such
signs?” And there was division among them.
There was a man who was born blind. This man was born this way for the express purpose of
bringing glory and honor to YHWH our Elohim. This glory and honor came when Mashiach Yeshua
healed this man and gave him sight for the first time in his life. This sign was of such a nature that it
caused a division amongst the Pharisees. Some of them at least understood that a man could not do
such a sign, for all men were sinners. The Pharisees rightly understood that when Mashiach came He
would be YHWH. They took due note of this sign, because no such thing like this had ever happened
before, in which a man born blind received his sight.
Another thing that YHWH does in the end of days is to come and personally rescue His people
Israel when things are not going well for the nation. In this rescue YHWH states through His prophet
Zecharyah that He personally will stand upon the Mount of Olives.

Zecharyah (Zechariah) 14:3-4

3 Then YHWH shall go forth, and fight against those nations, as when He fought
in the day of battle.
4 And His feet shall stand in that day upon the Mount of Olives, which is before
Jerusalem on the east; and the Mount of Olives shall be cleft in the midst thereof
toward the east and toward the west, and there shall be a very great valley; and half of
the mountain shall remove toward the north, and half of it toward the south.
There is a day coming when the feet of YHWH our Elohim shall stand upon the Mount of
Olives. But just exactly to whom is this referring who shall stand upon that mount one day?

Ma’aseh (Acts) 1:9-12

9 And when He had said these things, as they were looking, He was taken up;
and a cloud received him out of their sight.
10 And while they were looking steadfastly into heaven as He went, behold, two
men stood by them in white apparel;
11 who also said, “You men of Galilee, why do you stand looking into heaven?
This Yeshua, who was received up from you into heaven shall so come in like manner
as you beheld him going into heaven.”
12 Then they returned to Jerusalem from the mount called Olivet, which is near
Jerusalem, a Shabbat day's journey off.
Please note that Yeshua ascended into heaven just as He told Naqdimon that He would,
indicating to us that this is from where He had descended. He did this from the summit of the Mount
of Olives. Then two heavenly messengers stood near to those who had just witnessed this event take
place, and told them that He would return in like manner, and that He would return to this same
mount one day, to the Mount of Olives. It just so happens that this was prophesied long ago through
the prophet Zecharyah. But in that prophecy we are also told that the Mashiach is YHWH Himself.
On that day we shall all understand with the greatest of clarity that Mashiach is in fact YHWH Echad.

Zecharyah (Zechariah) 14:9

And YHWH shall be King over all the earth; in that day He shall be YHWH Echad,
and His name Echad.
This passage points directly to the Shema. But this passage is found in the midst of a section
which is dealing with the coming of Mashiach to rescue Israel from the clutches of the nations. On
that day, the day when His feet once again stand upon the Mount of Olives, we shall all know and
see Him for who He truly is; that being YHWH Echad!
In part two of this study will well examine Isaiah 53 verse by verse.
Abba YHWH, open our eyes to Your Redeemer that we may come to Him; in the name of Mashiach
Yeshua. Amein and amein.

The Son of Elohim

Who was Yeshua? – Part 2

An Expose’ of Isaiah 53
In part 1 of this study we examined some of the basics showing that Mashiach Yeshua is in
fact YHWH in the flesh. Let us keep those things in mind as we proceed.
With these things in mind let us examine a section of Scripture which was traditionally known
to be about Mashiach; but since His first coming, attempts have been made to misapply this passage
to the nation of Israel herself. Let us examine this chapter verse by verse to see what it actually says.
It will take some hardcore honesty by those who have been taught that this is not speaking about
Mashiach. What each one of us needs to do in this matter is simply to allow the Scripture to say
what it says without undue twisting of it, in an attempt to make it say something that it simply does
not say or mean.
It has been suggested by some that the speakers of Yeshayah 52 are Gentile kings. The
reason that this attempt is made is to try to get one to think that YHWH is not the speaker of
Chapter 53. Let us examine a couple of passages to see if this bears out in this chapter.
Yeshayah (Isaiah) 52:3a
For thus says YHWH, …
YHWH is speaking here.

Yeshayah (Isaiah) 52:4a

For thus says Adonai YHWH, …
Again, YHWH is speaking here.

Yeshayah (Isaiah) 52:5

“Now therefore, what do I here,” says YHWH, “seeing that My people are taken
away for nothing? They that rule over them do howl,” says YHWH, “and My name
continually all the day is blasphemed.”
Once again, it is YHWH who is speaking.

Yeshayah (Isaiah) 52:6

“Therefore My people shall know My name; therefore they shall know in that day
that I am He that does speak; behold, it is I.”
YHWH is speaking, again. Please notice the reference to “My people.” Gentile kings cannot be
saying this as this is a reference to Israel and Israel does not belong to Gentile kings.

Yeshayah (Isaiah) 52:10

YHWH has made bare His holy arm in the eyes of all the nations; and all the
ends of the earth have seen the salvation of our Elohim.
No Gentile kings are going to be saying this about baring His holy arm and revealing the
salvation of Elohim. No, this is YHWH speaking.

Yeshayah (Isaiah) 52:13

“Behold, My servant shall deal wisely, He shall be exalted and lifted up, and
shall be very high.”
It is not the servant of Gentile kings who deals wisely and brings salvation to Israel. No, this
again is YHWH speaking and He is specifically speaking of His Mashiach – His anointed One.

Yeshayah (Isaiah) 52:15

“so shall He sprinkle many nations; kings shall shut their mouths at Him; for that
which had not been told them shall they see; and that which they had not heard shall
they understand.”
YHWH states that Gentile kings shall shut their mouths. Gentile kings are not speaking but
being spoken about in this passage. “He” is singular here, being that “He” is YHWH our Elohim and
He is the one who will sprinkle many nations, not Gentile kings. They are the ones who look on in
awe and their mouths are shut as a result of what they are witnessing.

Yeshayah (Isaiah) 52:14

“Like as many were astonished at Thee; His appearance was so marred more
than any man, and His form more than the sons of men,”
We put verse fourteen after verse fifteen above to show that it is YHWH speaking in verse 13
and 15; then the verse between them is the same Speaker, as the Speaker has not changed and it is
still YHWH. What we see when we examine this chapter is that the Speaker in this chapter is YHWH,
speaking through His prophet Yeshayah. This same Speaker continues to speak as we move into
chapter 53. YHWH is speaking specifically about Mashiach being a suffering servant in this verse.

Yeshayah (Isaiah) 53:1-12

It is interesting to note that there are twelve verses in this chapter. Could this suggest that
Mashiach came for all twelve tribes?
53:1 Who has believed our message?
And to whom has the arm of YHWH been revealed?
There are many times recorded in Scripture that Israel failed to believe what YHWH says and
what YHWH did. Here is one such witness.

B’midbar (Numbers) 14:11

And YHWH said to Moshe, “How long will this people despise Me? And how long
will they not believe in Me, for all the signs which I have wrought among them?”
In all the time that Israel has been the people of YHWH, there have only been short periods of
time interspersed throughout their history that they believed and followed YHWH our Elohim. It is a
sad but true testimony faithfully recorded in Scripture. Yeshayah 53:1 is simply another instance of
this being recorded; albeit, a future instance.
Furthermore, it is YHWH who reveals His arm. It is not Israel revealing the arm of YHWH.

Yochanan (John) 12:37-38

37 But though He had done so many signs before them, yet they believed not on
Him;
38 that the word of Yeshayah the prophet might be fulfilled, which he spoke,
“Adonai, who has believed our report? And to whom has the arm of YHWH been
revealed?”
This first verse of Yeshayah 53 not only speaks of the general attitude and actions of Israel
towards YHWH our Elohim, but it also points directly to Mashiach when He came, as that same
attitude and actions would again be manifested towards Him: Israel not seeing with open eyes, who
stood right before them.
53:2 For He grew up before Him as a tender plant, and as a root out of a dry
ground; He has no form or comeliness; and when we see Him, There is no beauty that
we should desire Him.
“He grew up before Him as a tender plant” is a reference to Mashiach growing up from childhood
into manhood. This points to Mashiach being born of a woman at some point after this prophecy
was given.
53:3 He was despised, and rejected of men;A man of sorrows, and acquainted with
grief; And as one from whom men hide their face He was despised; And we esteemed
Him not.
Mashiach Yeshua was truly more rejected than any man. Even those closest to Him hid their
faces from Him when He could have used their support in His hour of need.
Some have attempted to say that this is speaking of Israel and how the nations have rejected Israel.
But this does not really fit, because it was Israel who rejected YHWH as her Elohim. It was as a result
of Israel’s rejection of YHWH that YHWH removed His hand of protection over Israel and which
caused all of her woes.
Also, please note that it states that “we” did not esteem Him. The “Him” here is YHWH and the “we”
is Israel. Then when YHWH came in the flesh, what Israel had already been doing for generations in
rejecting YHWH was continued on in the rejection of Him in the flesh. Please note this parable.

Matithyah (Matthew) 21:33-45

33 “Hear another parable: There was a man that was a landowner, who planted a
vineyard, and set a hedge about it, and dug a winepress in it, and built a tower, and let
it out to husbandmen, and went into another country.
34 And when the season of the fruits drew near, he sent his servants to the
husbandmen, to receive his fruits.
35 And the husbandmen took his servants, and beat one, and killed another, and
stoned another.
36 Again, he sent other servants more than the first; and they did to them in like
manner.
37 But afterward he sent to them his son, saying, ‘They will respect my son.’
38 But the husbandmen, when they saw the son, said among themselves, ‘This is
the heir; come, let us kill him, and take his inheritance.’
39 And they took him, and cast him out of the vineyard, and killed him.
40 When therefore the master of the vineyard shall come, what will he do to those
husbandmen?”
41 They say to Him, “He will miserably destroy those miserable men, and will let
out the vineyard to other husbandmen, who shall render him the fruits in their
seasons.”
42 Yeshua says to them, “Did you never read in the scriptures,The stone which the
builders rejected,The same was made the head of the corner; This was from YHWH,
And it is marvelous in our eyes?
43 Therefore say I to you, the kingdom of Elohim shall be taken away from you, and
shall be given to a nation bringing forth the fruits thereof.
44 And he that falls on this stone shall be broken to pieces; but on whomsoever it
shall fall, it will scatter him as dust.”
45 And when the chief priests and the Pharisees heard this parable, they perceived
that He spoke of them.
In this parable the “landowner” represents Father YHWH and the “son” of the landowner
represents Yeshua. In this parable Yeshua tells us that this was what these men would do to Him as
the Son of Elohim: they would kill Him. And as we know, they did indeed do this very thing.
53:4 Surely He has borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows;
Yet we did esteem Him stricken, smitten of Elohim, and afflicted.
The “our” in this verse is referring to the griefs and sorrows of Israel. The “He” is referring to
YHWH in the form of Mashiach. The “we” in this verse is referring to Israel. Surely one can see that
Israel has not borne her own griefs and sorrows. But this burden has been laid upon another, one
that could bear them. Please note this follow passage.

Devarim (Deuteronomy) 1:31

“and in the wilderness, where you have seen how that YHWH your Elohim bore you,
as a man does bear his son, in all the way that you went, until you came to this place.”
The Torah teaches us that it is YHWH who actually bears Israel. It is not Israel who bears Israel. Now
please also note this passage.

Tehillim (Psalm) 89:19

Then You spoke in vision to Your saints,And said, “I have laid help upon one that
is mighty;I have exalted one chosen out of the people.”
YHWH states that He will choose one from among Israel to be her Mighty One. That Mighty One
was YHWH Himself in the form of a man, whose name was Yeshua, whose name means: YHWH
saves.
53:5 But He was wounded for our transgressions,He was bruised for our iniquities;
The chastisement of our peace was upon Him;And with His stripes we are healed.
It is true that YHWH has severely disciplined Israel at times because of her transgressions and
iniquities against Him and His commandments as she has refused again and again to hear and obey
His Voice. However, even as true as that is, when has that discipline ever resulted in Israel being
healed? Simply put, it never has. However, as we have seen above, YHWH has chosen One from
among Israel upon whom to lay all those transgressions and it is by His wounds that Israel shall be
healed. At present it is the individual who is being healed. However, we are now seeing the
beginning of the healing of the nation of Israel as a whole.
Please note that it was “He” who was wounded. “He” was wounded for “our” benefit. We
cannot miss these pronouns as they tell us a very specific story. Israel cannot and does not
carry her own burdens, but the One upon whom YHWH lays them; specifically, Mashiach Yeshua.
53:6 All we like sheep have gone astray;
We have turned everyone to his own way;
And YHWH has laid on Him the iniquity of us all.
Throughout this chapter there is a contrast being put forth. That contrast is between the
nation of Israel represented by plural pronouns as in the above verse with “we,” and a masculine
single pronoun as in the above verse with “He.”
In this case YHWH is laying upon one the sins of the many. It does not make any sense at all to
suggest that the sins of the many are laid upon the whole nation of Israel as a singular “he.” Israel is
the problem, not the solution! The solution to the problem is not man or men, but rather YHWH our
Elohim. Only He is the solution to our sin problem.

Yochanan (John) 11:49-51

49 But a certain one of them, Caiaphas, being high priest that year, said to them,
“You know nothing at all,
50 nor do you take account that it is expedient for you that one man should die for
the people, and that the whole nation perish not.”
51 Now this he said not of himself; but, being high priest that year, he prophesied
that Yeshua should die for the nation;
What the high priest spoke concerning Mashiach Yeshua under the unction of the Ruach
Qodesh had already been prophesied through the prophets of old. Knowing this, he pointed to
Mashiach being YHWH in the flesh with this statement.
53:7 He was oppressed, yet when He was afflictedHe opened not His mouth;
As a lamb that is led to the slaughter,And as a sheep that before its shearers is dumb,
So He opened not His mouth.
If any verse can be seen as not speaking about Israel it is this verse. Please consider this passage:

B’midbar (Numbers) 14:26-27

And YHWH spoke to Moshe and to Aharon, saying,
27 “How long shall I bear with this evil congregation, that murmur against Me? I
have heard the murmurings of the children of Israel, which they murmur against Me.”
Yeshayah 53:7 states that this chosen One is silent and does not complain. However, it is
recorded over and over again in Scripture that Israel complains. Israel whines and murmurs
against YHWH again and again. What she whines and complains about is always due to her being
disobedient to His Voice and then suffering the consequence thereof. However, in Yeshayah 53 what
is recorded is that this chosen One is not suffering due to His own actions; but rather, is suffering
because of the actions of Israel. This alone should tell us that the anointed One of this chapter
cannot be Israel herself!

Matithyah (Matthew) 27:12-14

12 And when He was accused by the chief priests and elders, He answered
nothing.
13 Then says Pilate to Him, “Do you not hear how many things they testify against
you?”
14 And He gave him no answer, not even to one word; insomuch that the governor
marveled greatly.
The testimony of Scripture teaches us that Israel whines, complains, and murmurs against
YHWH repeatedly. So this chapter cannot in any way be applied to Israel as being the One upon
whom all these transgressions are laid. Israel is anything but silent concerning the discipline through
which YHWH takes her in an attempt to get her to listen to and obey His Voice.
However, there was One who was silent when He was falsely accused. His name was Yeshua, the
chosen One of YHWH. It is of Him which this chapter speaks.
53:8 By oppression and judgment He was taken away; And as for His generation,
Who among them considered That He was cut off out of the land of the living
For the transgression of My people to whom the stroke was due?
Again, we see the contrast between the people of YHWH and the One. In this case it is the
transgressions of His people to whom the (death) stroke was due. However, it was not given to His
people. This cannot be overly stressed. It was not His people who received the stroke due to them!
So, this chapter cannot be speaking of Israel as the One. Rather the stroke was given to the One. It
was given to One who did not deserve the death stroke, but He received it in their stead. As a result
He died.
When did it ever happen that all of the people of YHWH died? It has never happened! In fact,
according to Scripture it never will happen. Even when Israel, either the northern kingdom or the
southern kingdom, was taken away into captivity and ceased to be a nation for a period, they were
still in the land of the living. They were still His people. This verse cannot rightly mean that all of
Israel has ever been cut off from the land of the living. However, Mashiach Yeshua was. But the
grave could not hold Him, because He is YHWH in the flesh, the Creator of all life!
53:9 And they made His grave with the wicked,And with a rich man in His death;
Although He had done no violence,Neither was any deceit in His mouth.
This passage states that the one upon whom was laid the transgressions was without violence.
Does this description fit Israel? No it does not. Please note the following passage.

Yechezqel (Ezekiel) 8:17

Then He said to me, “Have you seen this, son of man? Is it a light thing to the
house of Yehudah that they commit the abominations which they commit here? For
they have filled the land with violence, and have turned again to provoke Me to anger;
and, behold, they put the branch to their nose.”
Please notice that YHWH tells us through the prophet Yechezqel that the house of Yehudah was
full of violence. But in Yeshayah we learn that the one upon whom the transgressions of all were laid
was without violence. Therefore, that verse cannot be speaking of Israel as the One upon whom the
transgressions were laid. What is being described is that the One upon whom all this was laid was
not guilty of any of the things that were laid upon Him. This cannot in any way be Israel as Israel is
guilty of many things when it comes to breaking the Torah commandments of YHWH.
Now let us consider if there is any deceit in the mouth of Israel.

Yirmeyah (Jeremiah) 9:1-6

1 “Oh that My head were waters, and My eyes a fountain of tears, that I might
weep day and night for the slain of the daughter of My people!
2 Oh that I had in the wilderness a lodging-place of wayfaring men; that I might
leave My people, and go from them! For they are all adulterers, an assembly of
treacherous men.
3 And they bend their tongue, as it were their bow, for falsehood; and they are
grown strong in the land, but not for truth; for they proceed from evil to evil, and they
know not Me,” says YHWH.
4 “Take heed every one of his neighbor, and trust not in any brother; for every
brother will utterly supplant, and every neighbor will go about with slanders.
5 And they will deceive everyone his neighbor, and will not speak the truth; they
have taught their tongue to speak lies; they weary themselves to commit iniquity.
6 Your habitation is in the midst of deceit; through deceit they refuse to know Me,”
says YHWH.
These words are the testimony of YHWH against His people Israel. It is a damning testimony. In
the sight of YHWH is there deceit in the mouth of Israel? As YHWH states above, “…they will not
speak the truth…” There is nothing but lies in the mouth of Israel, because they refuse to know
YHWH.
This was no less true when YHWH came in the flesh as Yeshua. Still, they refused to know Him.
But was any violence or deceit found in His mouth?
Kepha Aleph (1st Peter) 2:22
who did no sin, neither was guile found in His mouth;
Mashiach Yeshua did not sin in any way.

Ivrim (Hebrews) 4:15

For we have not a high priest that cannot be touched with the feeling of our
infirmities; but one that has been in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin.
While the high priests of the line of Aharon sinned and had to make atonement for their own sins
as well as for the sins of the nation of Israel, this is not true of Mashiach Yeshua. He committed no
sin, because He is YHWH in the flesh.

Yochanan (John) 8:46-47

46 “Which of you convicts Me of sin? If I say truth, why do you not believe Me?
47 He that is of Elohim hears the words of Elohim; for this cause you hear them
not, because you are not of Elohim.”
Were they able to convict Mashiach Yeshua on testimony that was truthful? No! They had to
bring forth false witnesses bearing lies. Once again, it was Israel who was full of lies and deceit, not
Mashiach Yeshua.
53:10 Yet it pleased YHWH to bruise Him;He has put Him to grief; When you shall
make His soul an offering for sin,He shall see His seed,He shall prolong His days,
And the pleasure of YHWH shall prosper in His hand.
Please note that in this verse YHWH states “when you,” meaning the nation of Israel, shall
offer the One up as an offering for sin. Did Israel kill herself? No! Did Israel kill Mashiach Yeshua?
Yes!
In order for a sin offering to be acceptable to YHWH one of the things that must be true about
it is that it must be without defect. Is Israel without defect? Not hardly! But Mashiach Yeshua was
without defect. He absolutely qualified to be a sin offering in this regard. We have already examined
passages of Scripture demonstrating this above so we will not reexamine them here.
53:11 He shall see of the travail of His soul,And shall be satisfied;By the
knowledge of Himself shall My righteous servant justify many; And He shall bear their
iniquities.
Once again we see that it is the One who is bearing the iniquity of the many. Also, it is
important to note that it is “by the knowledge of Himself” that the One will justify the many. It is not
the many who justify themselves! When we have knowledge of ourselves, what do we see? Do we
see righteousness? No! What we see is sin and the desperate need of redemption. What we see is
something that we cannot attain for ourselves. We need a Redeemer. In this case that Redeemer is
YHWH our Elohim who came in the likeness of human flesh and died in our place.

Yeshayah (Isaiah) 41:14

“Fear not, you worm Ya’aqov, and you men of Israel; I will help you,” says YHWH,
and Your Redeemer is the Holy One of Israel.
YHWH states through the prophet Yeshayah that it is His Redeemer that will save all of Israel.
Israel is a worm in the sight of YHWH and is not capable of saving herself.

Yeshayah (Isaiah) 44:6

Thus says YHWH, the King of Israel, and His Redeemer, YHWH Tzava’ot; “I am
the first, and I am the last; and besides Me there is no Elohim.”
YHWH states that the name of His Redeemer, the Redeemer of all Yisrael is YHWH Tzava’ot.
It was YHWH Tzava’ot who came in the likeness of human flesh to accomplish the redemption of
Israel. Please note that it states in the above passage that both YHWH (the King of Israel) and YHWH
Tzava’ot (His Redeemer) are speaking in this passage. The Redeemer of Israel calls Himself the first
and the last. He calls Himself Elohim and there are not other Elohim besides Him. Such is the person
of Mashiach Yeshua.
53:12 Therefore will I divide Him a portion with the great,And He shall divide the
spoil with the strong;Because He poured out His soul to death,And was numbered
with the transgressors;Yet He bare the sin of many,And made intercession for the
transgressors.
Please note that this One upon whom the sins and transgressions of the many is laid upon
dies. As a result He would be numbered among the transgressors even though He would be without
sin. Yet, He would die a death worthy of those who are sinners. This He did because the sin of all
Israel is laid upon Him to make restitution for her many sins of rebellion against YHWH our Elohim.
As we can see, this chapter cannot be rightly applied to Israel as being the One upon which the
transgressions of the many will be or has been laid. The contrast throughout this chapter is between
Israel, who is full of sin and deceit and her Redeemer who has all the sins of Israel laid upon Him
though He did no wrong. But because of the sins of Israel being laid upon Him, He died in her place.
He did not deserve this stroke; but rather, Israel did deserve it, but did not receive it. Since Israel did
not receive the stroke due to her, then she cannot also be the One upon whom her sins were laid!
Abba YHWH, open our eyes to Your Redeemer that we may come to Him; in the name of Mashiach
Yeshua. Amein and amein.

The Son of Elohim – part 3

The Virgin Birth

Matithyah (Matthew) 1:23

Behold, the virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son,
And they shall call his name Immanuel; which is, being interpreted, Elohim with us.
From the time of Mashiach through today there have always been those who for various
reasons have discarded the virgin birth of Yeshua. In this study we are going to examine what
Scripture teaches to see if the idea of Yeshua being born to a virgin is warranted. In the process we
will also examine some of the major reasons why others have chosen to reject this concept.

Luqa (Luke) 1:26-27

26 Now in the sixth month the messenger Gabriel was sent from Elohim to a
city of Galilee, named Nazareth,
27 to a virgin betrothed to a man whose name was Yoseph, of the house of
David; and the virgin's name was Miriam.
Both Matithyah and Luqa specifically mention that Miriam was a virgin; specifically, that Miriam and
Yoseph, while betrothed, were not yet married when she became pregnant. In Matithyah’s account
he is quoting from the prophet Yeshayah.

Yeshayah (Isaiah) 7:14

“Therefore YHWH Himself will give you a sign; behold, the virgin shall
conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel.”
From the Peshitta we find that both Matithyah and Luqa have the Hebrew word ‫– בתולה‬
“betulah” with Matithyah having the definite article ‫ ה‬before it. Part of the problem for some arises
when this is compared to what is found in Yeshayah, which has ‫“ – העלמה‬ha-almah.” However, the
Shem Tov Matithyah also has ‫ העלמה‬and is more in line with Yeshayah in this particular instance.
These two words, ‫“ – בתולה‬betulah” and ‫“ – עלמה‬almah” must be very similar for them to be used in
this manner. The question for us is: “What is the difference between them?”
‫“ – עלמה‬almah” means “to cover” or “to hide.” Another often used root word in Hebrew will
help us understand what “almah” means. This Hebrew word is ‫“ – גלה‬galah,” which means “to
reveal, make manifest, or uncover.” It is often used in matrimonial relations. So in the Torah ‫– עלם‬
“alam,” may be considered as implying the “concealment of the virgin; i.e., till lawful marriage had
taken place.” A virgin was not called ‫“ – עלמה‬almah” because she was concealed by being kept at
home in her father’s house; but rather, because, as a woman, she had not been uncovered; i.e., she
had not known a man in a sexual manner. This surely applies to Miriam as she states, “How can this
be, seeing I know no man?” (Luke 1:34)
So, “almah” is simply a woman who has reached puberty and is now of marriageable age;
whereas, ‫“ – בתולה‬betulah” seems to indicate a younger virgin who has not yet reached the age of
puberty. Please consider the following passage.

Melakim Aleph (1st Kings) 1:2

Therefore his servants said to him, “Let there be sought for my master the king
a young virgin; and let her stand before the king, and cherish him; and let her lie in
your bosom, that my master the king may be warmed.”
When King David got old he had trouble staying warm at night. So the plan was put forth
that a young virgin would sleep with him to keep him warm. The use of “young virgin” in Hebrew
suggests that she had not reached puberty; which would make perfect sense considering that the
king would not want to sleep with a young girl who was menstruating and thus become unclean.
However, if the girl was not yet into puberty that would not be a problem.
Regardless of the exact meaning of these two individual words, it seems plain that at least Matithyah
is pointing directly to the passage in Yeshayah as the birth of Yeshua being the fulfillment of that
prophecy. This we cannot dismiss or disregard in any manner. Furthermore, both testify that Miriam
had not known any man. So, whichever word is used, this is the meaning that these two particular
writers are attributing to the word used according to the context in which it is found. Both writers
are using the word to indicate that Miriam had not known a man. Both of these words can mean this
depending on the context used; and the context is clear in this case: Miriam was in fact a virgin when
she conceived.
Whichever one of these two words is the correct one, whether it is ‫ ה בתול‬or ‫ עלמה‬, it is clear
from what Matithyah states in the following passages that what is being meant by the use of this
word is that Miriam had not known any man, let alone her betrothed, Yoseph.

Matithyah (Matthew) 1:18

Now the birth of Yeshua the Mashiach was in this manner; when His mother
Miriam had been betrothed to Yoseph, before they came together she was found with
child from the Holy Spirit.
Matithyah states that this child who was being born to Miriam was not Yoseph’s child.

Matithyah (Matthew) 1:25

And he knew her not till she had brought forth a son; and he called His name
Yeshua.
Furthermore, we learn that Yoseph had no marital relations with Miriam even after they
were married until after she had given birth to Yeshua and she had gone through the commanded
time of cleansing according to Torah.
There are those today who are teaching that Yeshua was the physical son of Yoseph. This
teaching not only ignores the testimony of Scripture, but actually takes a portion of Scripture and
discards it. Anytime one discards even one stroke of Scripture, he is on a fast road towards
discarding Mashiach Himself. Since He is the Word made flesh, to take a portion of the written word
(Scripture) and toss it aside is to take Mashiach Himself and toss Him aside. This is not a wise or
prudent thing to do!
When we look at how Yoseph handled this situation we learn a lot of pertinent information.

Matithyah (Matthew) 1:19-20

19 And Yoseph her husband, being a righteous man, and not willing to make
her a public example, was minded to put her away privately.
20 But when he thought on these things, behold, a messenger of YHWH
appeared to him in a dream, saying, “Yoseph, son of David, fear not to take unto
yourself Miriam your wife; for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Spirit.”
When Yoseph learned that his bride who was betrothed to him was pregnant, it was his
intention to put her away. Why? He was going to put her away because he knew that this was not
his child. However, as he contemplated putting her away, in essence divorcing her (for a betrothal in
that culture was as binding as a marriage) he had a dream. In this dream YHWH came to him and
told him that he was to go ahead and marry Miriam, for this child was not the child of a man, but
rather this child was that which was promised through the prophet long ago.
Regardless of whose child this was, it was not Yoseph’s physical child. Of that we can be certain! In
fact, in this dream YHWH states that it was His child, via the Ruach Qodesh (Holy Spirit). In part one
of this series we examined the following passage.

Luqa (Luke) 1:35

And the messenger answered and said to her, “The Ruach Qodesh shall come
upon you, and the power of Elyon shall overshadow you; therefore also the holy thing
which is begotten shall be called the Son of Elohim.”
We examined how both the Father aspect of Elohim (Elyon) as well as the Mother aspect of
Elohim (Ruach Qodesh) were both involved in the bringing forth of this child and that Miriam
contributed no DNA to this child; i.e., it was not her egg that was fertilized. Both the Father and the
Mother aspects of the bringing forth of Mashiach were manifestations of Elohim.
Miriam had never known any man when she became pregnant. Neither had she known her
Creator as some teach. She was simply a vessel through which to bring forth Mashiach. When she
became pregnant she was a virgin in every sense of the word, since it was not one of her eggs that
was used.
In our world today those woman who cannot become pregnant on their own use a process
called in vitro fertilization. This process can use an egg donated from another woman which is
fertilized outside the womb and then placed inside the womb of the surrogate mother. So, if man
can do this with his technology, then surely YHWH who created man can do this! Surely YHWH can
plant a fertilized egg inside the womb of a woman without any difficulty. This is what Scripture
teaches us that He did in the above passage.
While many people are focused upon Yeshayah 7:14 as pointing to the virgin birth of the
coming Mashiach, there is perhaps another passage that is as equally significant; perhaps even more
so. In order to see this passage, or even the passage in Yeshayah 7:14, one needs to understand the
context of this section of Yeshayah.
In chapter seven of Yeshayah the prophet writes of the coming Mashiach; i.e., His future
birth as we quoted this passage above. In chapter 9 he writes of Mashiach having been born.

Yeshayah (Isaiah) 9:6

For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given; and the government shall
be upon His shoulder; and His name shall be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty El,
Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
Then in chapter eleven the prophet writes of the Mashiach as reigning.

Yeshayah (Isaiah) 11:1-4

1 And there shall come forth a shoot out of the stock of Yishai, and a branch
out of his roots shall bear fruit.
2 And the Spirit of YHWH shall rest upon Him, the Spirit of wisdom and
understanding, the Spirit of counsel and might, the Spirit of knowledge and of the fear
of YHWH.
3 And His delight shall be in the fear of YHWH; and He shall not judge after the
sight of His eyes, neither decide after the hearing of His ears;
4 but with righteousness shall He judge the poor, and decide with equity for
the meek of the earth; and He shall smite the earth with the rod of His mouth; and with
the breath of His lips shall He slay the wicked.
So the context of these chapters is about the coming of Mashiach. What we are going to
look at now is a hidden reference to the virgin birth; perhaps one of the clearest in all of Scripture, at
least to this writer. It is found in the verse immediately following Yeshayah 9:6.

Yeshayah (Isaiah) 9:7

Of the increase of His government and of peace there shall be no end, upon the
throne of David, and upon His kingdom, to establish it, and to uphold it with justice
and with righteousness from henceforth even forever. The zeal of YHWH Tzava’ot will
perform this.
What is contained in this verse cannot be seen in any other language except for the
language in which it was written: Hebrew. It is important to keep in mind the context here and
specifically the verse that immediately precedes this verse.
Please note that the verse before this one states that a child is going to be born and then it lists
some of the names by which He will be known. The word that we are interested in examining in 9:7
is translated as “Of the increase.” This is the first word following the list of names in the previous
verse.
In Hebrew there are five characters which are written in a different form if that particular
character comes at the end of a word. This form is called “sofit” (soe-feet). Those five characters are
‫ – כ‬kaf and ‫ ך‬- kaf sofit; ‫ – מ‬mem and ‫ – ם‬mem sofit; ‫ – נ‬nun and ‫ – ן‬nun sofit; ‫ – פ‬fey and ‫ – ף‬fey
sofit; and ‫ – צ‬tzadi and ‫ – ץ‬tzadi sofit. In this case, the character in which we are interested is the ‫ם‬
– mem sofit.
Normally, this word would be written as ‫“ – למרבה‬l’marbeh.” However, that is not what is
written in this passage. What we find in this passage is ‫ לםרבה‬. This does not change the
pronunciation of the word, nor does it change the meaning of the word. This is one of those “jots
and tittles” that Mashiach spoke of being fulfilled. So, what does this mean?
The ‫“ – מ‬mem” is symbolic of water. “Water” in Hebrew is spelled ‫“ – מים‬mayim”; (mem,
yod, mem sofit). Then by extension it is associated with the water of the womb. So, we have
pictured an open womb with the ‫“ – מ‬mem” and we have a closed womb pictured with the ‫– ם‬
“mem sofit.”
So, this child who is to be born who will be known as “Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty El,
Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace” whose increase shall never end, would be born from a closed
womb; i.e., a virgin. For this is what the ‫ – ם‬mem sofit symbolically represents: a virgin.
There are those who object to this whole idea of a virgin giving birth because so many pagan
cultures have a similar story found in their mythologies. But we should expect to find such stories in
many cultures because this is what is contained in the story of the stars: the mazzarot. Just because
some of the older records predate the reality, does not in any way negate the reality! In fact, they
actually help to verify the veracity of the prophecy.
Today man has the technology to implant a fertilized egg into the womb of a woman. This
woman could easily be a virgin. Since man has the technology to make a virgin pregnant, don’t you
think that the Creator of man could just as easily do this very thing as well? To be sure!
The conclusion of the matter is as follows. Yoseph knew without any doubts that this child
from Miriam was not his. Miriam’s testimony is that she had not yet known any man, including
Yoseph. Therefore, she must have been a virgin just as Scripture states that she was when she
became pregnant with Yeshua.
ABBA YHWH, we know that all things are possible with You. Continue to teach us Your
truths; in the name of Mashiach Yeshua.
Amein and Amein.

Selfishness or Selflessness
The First and Second Adam

So also it is written, "The first man, Adam, became a living soul." The last
Adam, a life-giving spirit. Qorintyah Aleph [1 Corinthians] 15:45
First Corinthians fifteen was written for our instruction and edification. Therefore, since we
wish to be instructed and educated, let us carefully examine each Adam, in order to walk in His Spirit
more perfectly.

The First Adam

B’reshit [Genesis] 3:6

When the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was a delight
to the eyes, and that the tree was desirable to make wise, she took from its fruit and
ate; and she gave also to her husband with her, and he ate.
Chavah [Eve] underwent temptation when she saw something that she could not (or should
not) have. She desired the forbidden, dwelling upon it, and thus succumbing to the lure of its lust.
... she took from its fruit and ate... v. 6
Chavah [Eve] wanted something. From this passage, we can see that she was willing to use
any means available, including unlawful means, to get what she wanted. Such was her selfishness
that she did not count the cost before she gave in to her lust.
... and she gave also to her husband with her, and he ate. v. 6
Perhaps Chavah wanted her husband to be involved, in order to justify her actions. When a
confrontation occurred, that way she could then pass the blame on to her husband.

B’reshit [Genesis] 3:12-13

And the man said, "The woman whom You gave to be with me, she gave me
from the tree, and I ate." Then YHWH Elohim said to the woman, "What is this you
have done?" And the woman said, "The serpent deceived me, and I ate."
Adam was also far from innocent in this matter. Some teachers read this portion of Scripture
as saying that he was right there with Chavah as she was being tempted, and he neither did anything
nor said anything to keep her from breaking the command that YHWH had given to them.
Why did Adam do this? Let us remember that YHWH (and Adam) had searched the whole of creation
for a suitable mate and found none. Then YHWH caused a deep sleep to fall upon Adam and YHWH
then took one of his ribs and made Chavah just for him. Perhaps he did not want to lose his mate.
Perhaps he wanted to please his mate. Whatever the reason was that he stood silently by and
allowed this to happen, we know that it was not a just reason! It was a selfish reason. We can know
this because it ended in sin! This shows that Adam was willing to do things that were not lawful in
order to get that which he wanted.
Adam also wanted someone else to blame if things went wrong. If he was not the initiator of
this, then he could point back at Chavah and say it was her fault.
Then the eyes of both of them were opened, and they knew that they were
naked. v.7...and the man and his wife hid themselves from the presence of YHWH
Elohim. v.8
This passage shows us that after their sin, both Adam and Chavah knew that what they had
done was wrong. However, they were not willing to admit to themselves, much less to YHWH, that
they had violated his commandment not to eat of the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil.
and they sewed fig leaves together and made themselves loin coverings. v.7
I was naked so I hid myself. v. 10
Because they were unwilling to confess this Torah-breaking, they tried to cover up the
ugliness of their self-centeredness with the things of this world. They had stopped walking in the
Spirit and were now only walking in the flesh.
... the woman that you gave me, she gave me of the tree, and I ate ... v. 12
The man was then willing to destroy his relationship with YHWH (and indeed anyone or
anything, including his wife) to keep his ill-gotten gain, and to remain alive in the physical sense.
Adam after the flesh, wanted to pass the blame on to his wife, rather than taking responsibility for
his own actions.
Adam said, "I heard ..., I was afraid ..., I hid ..." v. 10
Adam did not want to die. Fleshly physical life was more important to him, than spiritual
communion with YHWH. How sad!
Adam had a helpmeet that was tailor-made for him; and yet he was willing to let her take
the fall for his action. Rather than take responsibility, he was willing to let her die, and say it was her
fault that he ate. He was willing to do anything but stand up and say that he was at fault and he was
willing to take on the consequences of his own actions. In this case, he was under the sentence of
death.
And, we can see that if the first Adam (after the flesh) would do that to the one he loved,
then he would certainly do it to anyone who loved him; including the last Adam.

Yochanan (John) 11:49-52

49 And one of them, Caiaphas, being high priest that year, said to them, "You
know nothing at all,
50 nor do you consider that it is expedient for us that one man should die for
the people, and not that the whole nation should perish."
51 Now this he did not say on his own authority; but being high priest that year
he prophesied that Yeshua would die for the nation,
52 and not for that nation only, but also that He would gather together in one
the children of Elohim who were scattered abroad.
This selfish, “me-first” attitude was active in the first Adam’s life. His own desires took
priority over YHWH’s commandment. It is this natural selfish tendency within all of us that ultimately
put our Messiah to death. In essence, our own carnal, selfish nature killed the last Adam.
To see how wrong this kind of attitude is, let us compare it to the last Adam – Yeshua our
Messiah.

The Last Adam

Yochanan [John] 14:31

"That the world may know that I love the Father; and as the Father gave Me
commandment, even so I do."
Notice that Yeshua’s love of the Father was great enough that whatever commandment the
Father gave to Yeshua, He was willing to do it!

Luqa [Luke] 22:42

"Father, if You are willing, remove this cup from Me; yet not My will, but Yours
be done."
As we examine the last Adam to see the contrast with the first Adam, we see that the first
Adam was more interested in what he wanted, and the last Adam was more interested in what the
Father wanted. As the first Adam was filled up with selfishness, the last Adam is filled up with
selflessness.
The first Adam wanted his own way. The last Adam, Yeshua, wants what YHWH wants.
Matithyah [Matthew] 26:53
"Or do you think that I cannot appeal to My Father, and He will at once put at
My disposal more than twelve legions of angels?"
Look at the contrast:
The first Adam was willing to use any means available to get what he wanted, including
blaming those he loved. The last Adam was only willing to use righteous means to do YHWH’s will.
The last Adam was even willing to put aside legitimate means in order to accomplish what the
heavenly Father’s will was for Him.

Luqa [Luke] 19:10

"For the Son of Man has come to seek and to save that which was lost."
And again;
Romiyah [Romans] 5:8
But YHWH demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet
sinners, Mashiach died for us.
And again,
Kepha Aleph [1st Peter] 2:23
And while being reviled, He did not revile in return; while suffering, He uttered
no threats, but kept entrusting Himself to Him who judges righteously;
What we see, is that while the first Adam wanted others to be involved so he could shift the
blame to others so he would not have to take responsibility for his own sinful actions, the last Adam
(Yeshua) wants to help others share in eternal life.
Not only did the last Adam not attempt to blame others, but He also was willing to take upon
Himself the punishments for the wrongs (the Torah-breaking sins) of others.

Yochanan [John] 14:6

"I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father, but
through Me."
And again,
Yochanan [John] 12:46
"I have come as light into the world, that everyone who believes in Me may not
remain in darkness."
The first Adam was not willing to admit his wrongdoing until confronted with it. And even then, he
attempted to pass the blame to his beloved wife. However, the last Adam not only knows the Truth,
but willingly confesses it before YHWH and man so that we do not have to walk in the darkness.
Now look at how sin is dealt with:

Yochanan Moshe [Mark] 3:6

And the Pharisees went out and immediately began taking counsel with the
Herodians against Him, as to how they might destroy Him.
The man (the first Adam) makes every attempt to hide his sin; even to the point of murder.
The last Adam exposes the ugliness of sin wherever it is found no matter the personal cost. In this
case, men were willing to kill the last Adam because He exposed their sin with His light.

Yochanan [John] 10:18

"No one has taken it away from Me, but I lay it down on My own initiative. I
have authority to lay it down, and I have authority to take it up again. This
commandment I received from My Father."
The first Adam did what he could to shift the blame to another, so that he would not die. Or,
so he thought. The last Adam is willing to put self to death physically, that others might live
spiritually.
Mattithyahu [Matthew] 20:28
"the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a
ransom for many."
The first Adam was most interested in serving his own selfish needs. The last Adam came not
to serve Himself, but rather to serve others.

The Offspring of Adam

Yochanan [John] 13:15-17
“For I gave you an example, that you also should do as I did to you. Amein,
amein, I say to you, a slave is not greater than his master; neither is one who is sent
greater than the one who sent him. If you know these things, you are blessed if you
do them.”
From which Adam, the first or the last, do we get life?
Are you more interested in your own physical life? Or are you more concerned for the spiritual
wellbeing of those around you?
In the above passage, the Master/servant relationship is presented as the model for those
who would be His talmidim. This is to be the lifestyle of one who has surrendered himself
completely, to do His will. We are blessed if we do these things! He does not say we are blessed if
we only believe these things.
Do you want His will in your life at any cost?
Yochanan Aleph [1 John] 5:14
And this is the confidence which we have before Him, that, if we ask anything
according to His will, He hears us.
Do you have this much confidence, that you can ask anything of YHWH and He will hear you?
This is walking and praying in the Set-apart Spirit.
Are we willing to pay the price to do His will? Or, are we more interested in doing our own will?

Pheleymon [Philemon] 1:18

But if he has wronged you in any way or owes you anything, charge it to my
account.
Do we want others involved in building His Kingdom? Are we willing to take upon ourselves
the wrongs of others, in order to build His Kingdom? This is what Yeshua would do; in fact, this is
what He did do! Will we?

Ya’aqov [James] 5:16

Therefore, confess your sins to one another.
And again,

Ma’aseh [Acts] 1:8

but you shall receive power when the Set-apart Spirit has come upon you; and
you shall be My witnesses.
A person who is of the offspring of the last Adam knows the Truth and confesses it before
YHWH and man. He walks in the fullness of that Power, and obeys YHWH’s voice in all things
regardless of the personal cost to him. He has counted the cost and is willing to pay the price.

Kepha Aleph [1 Peter] 4:14

If you are reviled for the name of Mashiach, you are blessed, because the Set-
apart Spirit of glory and of Elohim rests upon you.
The offspring of the last Adam will expose the ugliness of sin wherever it is found no matter
the personal cost.
Qorintyah Aleph [1 Corinthians] 15:31
I die daily.
And again,
Galutyah [Galatians] 2:20
I have been crucified with Mashiach; and it is no longer I who live, but
Mashiach lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son
of YHWH
And again,
Phylypsiyah [Philippians] 1:21
For to me, to live is Mashiach, and to die is gain.
The offspring of the Life-giving Spirit will put self to death on a daily basis, realizing that it is
Mashiach that lives in him; and that he does not live for himself.

Romiyah [Romans] 12:3

For through the grace given to me I say to every man among you not to think
more highly of himself than he ought to think; but to think so as to have sound
judgment, as Elohim has allotted to each a measure of faith.
The person who is an offspring of the last Adam will be a servant of all, for he will put others
before himself.
So where are you? Are you an offspring of the first Adam only? Or have you been made alive
unto YHWH to have Yeshua HaMashiach living in and through you?
It is your choice.

All Authority

Matithyah [Matthew] 28:18

And Yeshua came to them and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been
given to Me in heaven and on earth.”
The question that one might ask about this is: Exactly when was this authority given to
Yeshua? Many often assume that it was given at or after the incarnation. However, what we are
about to consider will show that this is mistaken; but rather, He was given this authority before
creation.

Yochanan [John] 1:3

All things were made through Him; and without Him was not anything made that
has been made.
And again:
Colossians 1:16
For by Him were all things created, in the heavens and upon the earth, things
visible and things invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers; all
things have been created through Him, and for Him;
Here we see that Mashiach Yeshua is actually the Creator of all that we see and with which
we are blessed. In order to create in the fashion that He created, authority is needed.

Tehillim [Psalm] 33:6-9

6 By the Word of YHWH were the heavens made,And all the host of them by the
breath of His mouth.
7 He gathered the waters of the sea together as a heap;He layed up the deeps in
store-houses.
8 Let all the earth fear YHWH;Let all the inhabitants of the world stand in awe of
Him.
9 For He spoke, and it was done;He commanded, and it stood fast.
When we consider this next passage along with the previous one, then a truth comes to light.

Yochanan [John] 1:1

In beginning was the Word, and the Word was with Elohim, and the Word was
Elohim.
We can clearly see that it was the Word of YHWH who created the heavens and the earth.
We also know that Yeshua is that Word made flesh and who dwelt among us. As Yochanan begins his
Besorah in a similar fashion to B’reshit 1:1, he does so to draw our attention to this important verse.

B’reshit [Genesis] 1:1

‫ה ָ אָר ֶ ץ‬
‫וְאֵת‬
ַ ‫י ִה ַםש ָ מ‬
‫אֵת‬

As we can see the middle word of this sentence is not translated into English, nor can it be.
This word has the title of the sign of the direct object. It points to what is receiving the action of the
verb in a sentence. It also happens to be the first and last letter of the Hebrew aleph-bet. We also
know from other passages that Mashiach is the first and the last.
Gilyana [Revelation] 1:8
“I am the Aleph (‫ )א‬and the Tau (‫)ת‬,” says YHWH Elohim, “who is and who was and
who is to come, the Almighty.”
In this passage and in the next, Mashiach Yeshua is speaking to Yochanan, telling him that He
is the first and the last.
Gilyana [Revelation] 1:17-18
17 And when I saw Him, I fell at his feet as one dead. And He laid His right hand
upon me, saying, “Fear not; I am the first and the last,
18 and the Living one; and I was dead, and behold, I am alive for evermore, and I
have the keys of death and of Sheol.”
Notice that Mashiach, in order to help clearly identify who it is that is speaking, says that He
is the one who died and is now alive forevermore.
Yeshayah [Isaiah] 44:6
“Thus says YHWH, the King of Israel, and His Redeemer, YHWH Tzava’ot; ‘I am the
first, and I am the last; and besides Me there is no Elohim.’”
Here we see that it was YHWH Tzava’ot who first spoke that He was the first and the last.
This is clearly represented by the aleph and the tau in B’reshit 1:1. Let us examine a couple more
verses about the authority that Yeshua our Mashiach was given. This is also clear testimony that
YHWH Tzava’ot became flesh and dwelt among us as Mashiach Yeshua.
Yochanan [John] 10:18
“No one takes it away from Me, but I lay it down of Myself. I have power to lay it
down, and I have power to take it again. This commandment I received from My Father.”
Not only did Mashiach have authority, but He also possessed the power that went along
with that authority. He had the power of life. He not only had the power to lay down His own
physical life and then to take it up again, He had the power to give us life as well.
Yochanan [John] 10:27-28
27 “My sheep hear My Voice, and I know them, and they follow Me;
28 and I give to them eternal life; and they shall never perish, and no one shall snatch
them out of My hand.”
Yeshua said that He had received all authority, which includes the power to back up that
authority, in heaven and on earth. Whatever power or authority that exists, it belongs to Him. As we
will see below, understanding the immensity of this is important.

The Task Given

Matithyah [Matthew] 28:19

“On that you make talmidim in all the nations, and you immerse them in the name
of the Father and the Son and the Set-apart Spirit;”
Above, Yeshua established that He had been given all authority and we examined the scope
of that reality. Within the authority that He had been given, He was about to leave for an extended
period of time, and He was now commissioning His followers to do as He had done. He came and
made talmidim and He was sending them forth into the nations of the world to do the same thing
that He had done.
YHWH had formerly scattered His people throughout the world because of their sin,
rebellion, and disobedience to His Voice. Now, He had come in the flesh to begin the restoration
process, to bring them back to His Father’s house. Yeshua taught us this basic concept in the parable
of the two sons which is commonly referred to as the parable of the prodigal son. In this parable, the
younger son, which represents the ten northern tribes also referred to in Scripture as Ephrayim, left
his father’s house and squandered his inheritance. Likewise, Ephrayim went into the nations and
tossed away his identity
and became as the goyim, the nations. In fact, one today cannot tell by outward appearance
who is and who is not a descendant of these ten northern tribes.
However, YHWH knows who and where they are, and in these latter days will send forth the call to
His children to come out of the nations of the world and will return them back to their rightful
inheritance and land. The commission was for His talmidim to go into all the nations of the world
and to find those who are willing to return to the Father’s house and to teach them accordingly.
The beginning of this process of instruction begins with a mikvah and being immersed in water.

Ma’aseh [Acts] 2:38

And Shim’on said to them, “Repent, and be immersed every one of you in name of
the Adon Yeshua because your sins have been forgiven; and you shall receive the gift of
the Set-apart Spirit.”
We must be clear here at this point: it is not the act of immersion which saves a person or
causes one’s sins to be forgiven; for if this were the case as some wrongly teach, then salvation
would be by a person’s works rather than by His grace. Salvation is extended to us by and through
the ministry of the Set-apart Spirit applying the Blood of Mashiach to each who would receive it in
faith. It is the Blood of Mashiach that saves us. It is not an act or any such work on our part.
With that being said, we must also understand that once we have received this salvation by and
through faith and our sins have been forgiven and wiped away, then we should obey His
commandment and be immersed in water as a testimony to what He has already done in our hearts
and lives.
In the next section we will examine in further detail what it means to be a talmid of Yeshua
our Mashiach. It is so much more than just getting immersed into His name.
One of the things hotly debated at times is the formula for doing an immersion. Perhaps if we were
to understand that there is not a set formula then a lot of the hurt feelings would never happen.
What we do, we must do by faith. If it is not by faith, then it will not be pleasing to our heavenly
Father. We should also understand that not everyone is at the same place in his understanding.
Therefore, we should give grace as that is what we would want to receive.
But many wonder: Should we say, “I immerse you in the name of the Father, and in the name of the
Son, and in the name of the Ruach Qodesh”? Or, should we say, “I immerse you in the name of
YHWH”? Or, should we say, “I immerse you in the name of Yeshua our Mashiach”? Let us examine
the above passage a little closer.

Matithyah [Matthew] 10:19-20

19 “But when they deliver you up, be not anxious how or what you shall speak; for it shall
be given you in that hour what you shall speak.
20 For it is not you that speak, but the Spirit of your Father that speaks in you.”
Please note that when the Holy Spirit speaks through us, it is the Spirit of our heavenly
Father YHWH. It is the Spirit of YHWH.

Galatians 4:6
And because you are sons, Elohim sent forth the Spirit of His Son into our hearts,
crying, “Abba, Father.”
The truth of the matter is this: the Spirit with which we are filled sometime after we are
saved is the Spirit of YHWH the Father, it is the Spirit of YHWH the Son, it is the Set-apart Spirit, the
Counselor. So, when we are to immerse into His name, that name is “YHWH.” Or, one can also
rightly use “Yeshua our Mashiach” for we see this in the following passages.

Ma’aseh [Acts] 2:38

And Shim’on said to them, “Repent, and be immersed every one of you in name of
the Adon Yeshua because your sins have been forgiven; and you shall receive the gift of
the Set-apart Spirit.”
And again:

Ma’aseh [Acts] 10:48a

And he commanded them to be immersed in the name of Adonenu Yeshua
Mashiach.
And again:

Act 19:5
And when they heard this, they were immersed in the name of Adonenu Yeshua
Mashiach.
Since Yeshua our Mashiach is YHWH manifested in the flesh, and it is through and by His Blood that
we enjoy salvation, then it would seem right and reasonable to use His name, the name of “Adonenu
Yeshua Mashiach” to immerse those who desire to be immersed.
Let us remember as we proceed in this study, that Yeshua has all authority in heaven and in
earth, and because He has that authority, He is transferring some of that authority to His talmidim to
go into the nations of this world and to find His people and to teach them how to live in His
kingdom.
He has passed the mantle to us.
We have as much of that authority as is necessary to get the job done.

Yochanan [John] 14:13

13 “And whatsoever you shall ask in My name, that will I do, that the Father may be
glorified in the Son.
14 If you shall ask anything in My name, that will I do.
15 If you love Me, you will keep My commandments.”
Yeshua taught us that if we keep and obey His commandments then we will walk in a
manner that is pleasing to Him. Therefore, we can ask for what we need to keep His commandments
and He will readily give it to us. Now, lest we think that this is a blank check to get whatever our
flesh desires, think again!

Yochanan Aleph [1st John] 5:14

14 And this is the confidence which we have toward Him, that if we ask anything
according to His will, He hears us;
15 and if we know that He hears us whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the
petitions which we have asked of Him.
Please note that the confidence that one has before YHWH in prayer is based upon praying
and asking according to His will. When one prays and asks according to His will, whatever he has
asked will be given. So why pray for anything outside His will? What excuse do we have to pray
outside of His will? If one is truly filled with His Spirit and we actually go to Him and ask Him what His
will is in any given situation, then we should know what His will is, right? And if we pray accordingly,
then we are praying according to His will and we will receive that which we have asked for! Now I
ask you, is that not authority? Is that not power? To be sure, it is! We are under obligation not to
misuse this power and authority.
Let us walk in humble confidence before Him at all times; knowing who it is that we are
serving!

Obedience to His Commandments

Matithyah [Matthew] 28:20

“teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I commanded you; and behold, I
am with you always, even to the end of the age.”
Yeshua commissioned His talmidim to go forth into all the nations of the world and to find
His people. When they found His people they were commanded to do certain things. The central
thrust of their commission from Yeshua was to teach them how to live a Torah obedient life. They
were to teach them to observe all those things which He had commanded them.
In the Hebrew Peshitta, the word from which observe is translated is the Hebrew word
ֹ ‫“ –לש ְ מר‬lishmor,” which means to guard or to protect. And how does one guard or protect His
commandments? There is only one way, and that is by obeying them, by doing them.
He promises to be with those who obey His commandments. He does not promise to be
with those who do not obey His commandments. So if one teaches and believes that His
commandments (Torah) have been done away with, then they should not expect Mashiach Yeshua
to be with them!
The truth of the matter is quite simple: since Yeshua is our Creator as well as our Savior,
then He is also the One who gave the Torah to Moshe. The Torah is His commandments! The Torah
commandments belong to Mashiach Yeshua. Mashiach gave them to us through Moshe. We cannot
truly follow Yeshua and be His talmid without obeying His commandments. While salvation does not
come through the keeping of the commandments, for that is by and through faith alone, it is the
keeping of His commandments through the Spirit that enables us to walk and live a life that is
righteous and well-pleasing to our heavenly Father.
ABBA YHWH, please teach us how to live according to Your commandments; then please fill
us with Your Spirit that we might actually obey them; in the name of Yeshua our Mashiach. Amein.
Shabbat Shalom

Are You Willing to Seek Him?
Repent of All Wickedness

Divre Hayamim Bet (2nd Chronicles) 7:13-14

13 “If I shut up the heavens so that there is no rain, or if I command the locust
to devour the land, or if I send pestilence among My people;
14 if My people, who are called by My name, shall humble themselves, and
pray, and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven,
and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.”
This passage is being put forth a lot these days by those who are pleading and begging
others to repent and to seek our Creator for the sake of our nation. However, there are some
problems with what is going on in this instance. Let us carefully and prayerfully consider what is
being said in this verse and who is saying it.
The person speaking in the above passage is YHWH our Elohim. And it is at this very point
that the difficulty begins to be seen. His name is not “the LORD.” There is no logical or generally
accepted means of translation or transliteration by which one can get from His name, spelled yod (‫)י‬,
hey(‫)ה‬, waw(‫)ו‬, hey(to “the LORD.” It just is not possible. Simply put, “the LORD” is a substitution and
is used in place of His name throughout Scripture, His name being hidden as a result.
We are not going to deal with the etymology of the word “lord” in this study. The truth is
that it really does not matter where this word came from or what it means, because it is not
equivalent in any way to “YHWH.” The word “lord” is a substitution of His name, nothing more and
nothing less. Furthermore, using it is a breaking of at least three commandments.

Devarim (Deuteronomy) 4:2

“You shall not add to the word which I command you, neither shall you
diminish from it, that you may keep the commandments of YHWH your Elohim which I
command you.”
The substitution of His name with “the LORD” and sometimes with “GOD” is breaking both
the prohibition to add to His word and the prohibition to diminish or to take away from His word.

Shemot (Exodus) 20:7

“You shall not make void the name of YHWH your Elohim; for YHWH will not
hold him guiltless that brings His name to oblivion.”
YHWH explicitly commands us that we are not to make void His name. When His name is
taken away and something else is substituted in its place, this is breaking this commandment. YHWH
states that He will hold such a person accountable for doing this.
Now the question becomes: who is one serving, YHWH or “the LORD”? And do not think that
one can reason this away by saying that they are the same thing! Let us recall the incident with the
golden calf. Israel made this image and even called it by His name and offered sacrifices to this
image. But one will object: “We have made no such image.” While there may be no physical image
as with the golden calf, there is in fact an image connected with “the LORD” that has nothing to do
with YHWH our Elohim. That image has to do with the removal of His name. YHWH is not pleased
with this action!
So, who one serves will in large part determine how one understands the opening passage in
2nd Chronicles 7:14. If one is in fact serving “the LORD,” then there is most likely nothing that anyone
can say or do to show him the error of his ways. However, if one is serving the Creator of the
universe and his desire is to please Him, then he should be open to receiving His truth concerning
this matter.
His truth is this: If His people who are called by His name call upon Him, that is, call upon His
name, then He will hear. However, if a person or group of people do not call upon His name, but
upon a substitute name, will He hear? That, at best, is debatable. At worst, YHWH will not answer
and any answer will come from another source and those receiving it will be deceived. But then, why
would a person want to call upon the Creator of the universe in such a fashion that the results
received may not be as desired? It simply does not make any sense!
If we need something from YHWH and we belong to Him then we need to call upon Him in a
manner that He has prescribed, namely by calling upon His name, “YHWH”. It must be realized that
“the LORD” is not His name, never was, and never will be! Using that substitution in place of His
name is not calling upon Him, but calling upon another. Will He answer? I would not want to bet my
life on it, would you? Yet this is exactly what millions are doing: betting their lives upon this name:
“the LORD.”
Now many will argue that the Creator knows what we mean when we say “the LORD.” But
whether He knows what one means or not is not really the question or the issue here, is it? It is a
matter of obedience. YHWH clearly states in the opening passage of 2nd Chronicles 7:14 that there
are conditions upon which His blessings will come upon His people for healing and restitution. What
are those conditions? YHWH states that they first have to be called by His name. That name is
“YHWH.” Being called by the name of “the LORD” is failing to meet this condition. Failing to meet
any of the conditions YHWH lists simply means that He is under no obligation to hear and respond.
Please note that in this passage it is YHWH Himself who has caused these things to come to pass
with the express purpose of getting the attention of those who are His people. He simply wants
them to repent and turn to Him. It is YHWH who has shut up the heavens. It is YHWH who has
commanded the locust to devour. It is YHWH who has sent the pestilence among the people. The
people are being severely disciplined because of sin. The only remedy is to turn to YHWH. Turning to
“the LORD” will not suffice.

Ya’aqov (James) 2:10

For whosoever shall keep the whole Torah, and yet stumble in one point, he is
become guilty of all.
Many today are busy pointing their fingers at others trying to show why the sin of those
others is the cause of the world being in the condition that it is in. However, many of these same
people seem to fail to realize that the condition of the world in part rests right at their doorstep.
Some are willing to admit this partially, but rarely fully. One of the things that the above passage
teaches us is that if a person makes any excuse whatsoever for any sin whatsoever, then he is
actually making excuses for every sin and breaking of His commandments. And when a person
makes an excuse for any sin, whether that is his own or another’s sin, then he is actually contributing
to the propagation of sinful darkness in this world. If healing is going to be secured, then nothing
short of full and complete repentance needs to be forthcoming.
One of the wicked ways that His people must forsake is calling Him by any substitute names
and titles. We should only call Him what He calls Himself. We should call Him what He has told us to
call Him and that is “YHWH.” Any other name is wickedness and He will not hear. He has never told
us to call Him “the LORD.” This is something that man has come up with in the same fashion that
man came up with the golden calf. If we are truly going to seek Him, then we must do so according
to His ways. Making an attempt to seek Him by man’s ways and man’s design will not get us what we
need. If we seek Him according to His ways and repent of our sin, one of which is calling Him by a
substitute name, then He will come and forgive us and heal our land.
This is also a problem and a difficulty. His people are Israel. His people keep and do His
commandments. When His people who are called by His name fail to do this, then this is sin and this
is what we need to repent of not doing, of not obeying His commandments. How can He answer us
with blessing and healing if His people refuse to obey His Voice and obey His commandments? He
cannot and He will not answer with healing!
Now the question some may ask is: “Who is Israel?” Israel consists of all those who will hear
and obey His Voice. Israel does not consist of a certain bloodline. Now those who are born to
Hebrew parents have an advantage because they grow up knowing their heritage and being taught
to know, keep, and do His commandments, which is a very big advantage indeed. However, each
person still has to make the choice to hear and obey His Voice for himself. Only in this way will he be
a part of Shema Yisrael. This is who YHWH is calling to in the opening passage. One last point: that of
the land. YHWH states that if His people who are called by His name will repent then He will heal
their land. The land that He is referring to here in this passage is the land that YHWH gave to
Avraham, Yitzchaq, and Ya’aqov, and to their children forever. He is not referring to any other land.
Now if you are like me and are ready to go home to the land that YHWH gave to our forefathers,
then pray this prayer in all earnestness!
However, if one is not willing to be honest with this passage and allow it to say and mean
what it has always meant, then stop calling others to pray this in a misapplied way! If one persists in
going ahead and using this passage in a manner that was never intended by YHWH, then most likely
he will get an answer to his prayers, but it will not be from YHWH our Elohim, the Elohim of
Avraham, Yitzchaq, and Ya’aqov. The answer he will receive will be a deluding influence sent from
YHWH to deceive him because he did not love His truth so as to be saved!

2nd Thessalonians 2:10-11

10 and with all deceit of unrighteousness for them that perish; because they
received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved.
11 And for this cause Elohim sends them a deluding influence, that they should
believe the lie.
It is your choice. Only you can make this choice. Call upon His name “YHWH” today, before it
is too late.
ABBA YHWH, thank You for Your faithfulness to us, and forgive us for our double-
mindedness and unfaithfulness to You; in the name of Yeshua our Mashiach we pray.
Amein and Amein.

The Blood of Mashiach

Ivrim [Hebrews] 9:12
nor yet through the blood of goats and calves, but through His own Blood, entered
in once for all into the Holy Place, having obtained eternal redemption.
If you read very many of the teachings, studies, and writings of this present author, you will
notice that when speaking of the Blood of Mashiach Yeshua, the word “Blood” is always capitalized.
There is a very good and specific reason for this. We will explain it now in detail.

Yeshayah [Isaiah] 43:11

“I, even I, am YHWH; and besides Me there is no Savior.”
There are many such passages that state or intimate the above truth, that YHWH is the Savior of
Israel. Furthermore, there is no other Savior of Israel, only YHWH, which is one of the very strong
indicators that Yeshua is YHWH in the flesh; or Yeshua is a manifestation of Elohim.
We are aware of many different manifestations of Elohim in the Tanak. He has revealed
Himself to us in many ways and by many names. He has manifested Himself in a burning bush. He
has manifested Himself in a pillar of fire. He has manifested Himself in a pillar of cloud. He has
manifested Himself as the angel of death. He has manifested Himself as satan. (Please don't stone
me on that one until you read and study Numbers 22:32.) He has manifested Himself as El Shaddai.
He has manifested Himself as El Chay. He has manifested Himself as El Gibbor. He has manifested
Himself as YHWH Yireh.
There are many more that we could list, but this should be sufficient to show that Elohim
has manifested Himself to us in many and various ways. These different ways do not reduce or
change the reality that each one is a manifestation of Elohim. There is one manifestation that is
spoken of very little and thus is little understood. This manifestation is the Blood of Mashiach.
Mashiach Yeshua was, and is, a manifestation of Elohim. However, His Blood was also a
manifestation as well. Why?
Let us prayerfully consider the following passages. Each one of these passages speaks of the
Blood of Mashiach.

Kepha Aleph [1st Peter] 1:18-19

18 knowing that you were redeemed, not with perishable things, with silver or gold,
from your vain manner of life handed down from your fathers;
19 but with precious Blood, as of a lamb without spot, even the Blood of Mashiach;
In this passage, we are told that we are redeemed by the Blood of Mashiach. Furthermore,
this passage strongly intimates that His Blood is not perishable; i.e., it is eternal. It does this by telling
us that we were not redeemed with something that was perishable. Rather, we were redeemed by
His Blood, which is not perishable. This aspect of His Blood is extremely critical, because if His Blood
were not eternal, then neither would one’s salvation be eternal. Salvation can be, and is, eternal by
virtue of the Blood of Mashiach which never perishes!
Let us also observe that with this redemption comes a cleansing from sin.

Yochanan Aleph [1st John] 1:7

but if we walk in the light, as He is in the light, we have fellowship one with
another, and the Blood of Yeshua His Son cleanses us from all sin.

Notice the correlation of the previous passage in Yochanan with the following passage.
Yirmeyah [Jeremiah] 33:8
“And I will cleanse them from all their iniquity, whereby they have sinned against
Me; and I will pardon all their iniquities, whereby they have sinned against Me, and
whereby they have transgressed against Me.”
Notice that it is YHWH speaking in this passage. He will be the One who cleanses Israel.
However, Yochanan states that it is the Blood of Mashiach which cleanses us from sin. This shows us
that the Blood of Mashiach is actually a manifestation of Elohim. It is this particular manifestation
which Elohim has chosen to use in cleansing those who come to Him from all their sins.
Please note in this passage how we are justified.

Romans 5:9
Much more then, being now justified by His Blood, shall we be saved from the
wrath of Elohim through Him.
The Brit Chadasha teaches us that we are justified by His Blood. Now notice this next
passage.

Yeshayah [Isaiah] 45:25

In YHWH shall all the seed of Israel be justified, and shall glory.
The prophet Yeshayah tells us that it is in YHWH and through YHWH and by YHWH that Israel is
justified. When we understand this truth in light of what the Brit Chadasha (NT) teaches us, we see
that the Blood of Mashiach must be a manifestation of Elohim, because it is by the Blood of
Mashiach that we are justified and saved.
And in what way do we receive our redemption? How is it that we receive forgiveness of our
sins? It is through His Blood; i.e., the Blood of Mashiach.

Ephesians 1:7
in whom we have our redemption through His Blood, the forgiveness of our
trespasses, according to the riches of his grace,
And again we see this here in this passage.

Colossians 1:14
in whom we have the redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of the sins,
Now notice what YHWH says through Yeshayah the prophet concerning who it is that is the
Redeemer of Israel.

Yeshayah [Isaiah] 44:24

Thus says YHWH, your Redeemer, and He that formed you from the womb; “I am
YHWH, that makes all things; that stretches forth the heavens alone; that spreads abroad
the earth;”
And who is it that forgives sin? It is YHWH.

Tehillim [Psalm] 103:3

Who forgives all your iniquities;Who heals all your diseases;
The psalmist teaches us that it is YHWH who forgives us of all our sins. When we put this
truth together with what the Brit Chadasha teaches us, we see that both YHWH and the Blood of
Mashiach do pretty much the same thing. We could make more comparisons, but this should be
sufficient to demonstrate the strong parallel between YHWH as our Savior, Redeemer and Justifier,
with the Blood of Mashiach Yeshua doing these same things. The conclusion which one arrives at is
that the Blood of Mashiach is, in fact, just another manifestation of Elohim. This is why, as a writer, I
capitalize the word “Blood” when referring to the Blood of Mashiach.
Now let us carefully consider the first recorded manifestation of the Blood of Mashiach.
The opening verses of B’reshit reveal to us many glorious and wonderful things. Some of what it
reveals to us concerns the Blood of Mashiach. Please bear with us for just a moment as we dig into
the depths of Scripture concerning this matter.

Yeshayah (Isaiah) 45:18

For thus says YHWH that created the heavens, the Elohim that formed the earth
and made it, that established it and created it not a waste, that formed it to be inhabited; “I
am YHWH; and there is none else.”
It is important to note that when YHWH Elohim spoke the worlds into existence they were
not created void nor in waste. Rather He formed the world to be inhabited.

B’reshit (Genesis) 1:1-2

1 In the beginning Elohim created the heavens and the earth.
2 And the earth became waste and void; and darkness was upon the face of the
deep; and the Spirit of Elohim moved upon the face of the waters.
Verse one above tells us that Elohim created the heavens and the earth. But then something
tragic happened and the creation that Elohim had made to be inhabited (see Yeshayah 45:18 above)
was no longer inhabited, but all life was destroyed. We know from verse two that it was destroyed
by a flood. If one reads verse 2 carefully, this is a description of a flood. Notice that the Spirit of
Elohim was upon the face of the deep waters, a flood which covered the whole earth. The flood of
Noach was the second such flood recorded in our Scriptures.
We have no idea how much time these two verses represent. But we know from other
passages of Scripture that these two verses stand alone as an introduction to what is about to be
described in the following verses. We needed to examine briefly the meaning of these first two
verses so that we could rightly establish the verses of the first day. Let us prayerfully examine the
first day now.

B’reshit (Genesis) 1:3-4

3 And Elohim said, “Let there be light”; and there was light.
4 And Elohim saw the light, that it was good; and Elohim was the division between
the light from the darkness.
5 And Elohim called the light Day, and the darkness He called Night. And there was
evening and there was morning, one day.
From B’reshit 1:1 through B’reshit 2:4, these verses consist of an account of the seven days
of creation; and there are two words which are of interest to us presently. These two words are
“create” ( ‫ – ברא‬bara) and “made” ( ‫ – עשה‬asah). The word “bara” occurs four times in B’reshit 1:1
through 2:4; in verses 1:1, 1:21, 1:27, and 2:3. The word “asah” occurs ten times with the first
occurrence in 1:7.
What is important for us to understand as it concerns these two words is that neither word
occurs in relation to the first day of creation. In B’reshit 1:3-5 neither the word “bara” nor the word
“asah” occurs. This is extremely important for us to know as this tells us that nothing was created
upon this day, the first day of creation. When we go back and carefully reexamine the verses which
pertain to the first day, what we find is not a creation of light, but rather a revelation of light, in
particular the light of Elohim. He revealed His light into the darkness that had covered and destroyed
His created world in verses one and two.

Yochanan (John) 1:4-5

4 In Him was life; and the life was the light of men.
5 And the light shines in the darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.
Mashiach Yeshua is the light of men sent into this world to give it light and to reveal the
deeds of darkness. The first revelation of this light was on the first day of creation. Please note in
B’reshit 1:4 that this verse teaches us that Elohim was the division between the light and the
darkness. This is literally what the Hebrew says.
What this should teach us is that in order for one to go from the darkness into the light one
must pass through Elohim. Is there any particular part of Elohim that one must pass through to go
from the dark into the light? Yes!

Yochanan (John) 12:46

“I am come a light into the world, that whosoever believes on Me may not abide in
the darkness.”
First, we must understand that passing out of the darkness into His light involves Mashiach.

Yochanan Aleph (1st John) 1:7

But if we walk in the light, as He is in the light, we have fellowship one with
another, and the Blood of Yeshua His Son cleanses us from all sin.
Please note that in order to enter into His light we have to come into that light through
Mashiach Yeshua. In particular, we must come through His Blood; but as we have already noted
above, this separation between the light and the darkness occurred on the first day of creation at
the first revelation of the light into the darkness. The barrier between the light and the darkness is
Elohim, specifically the Blood of Mashiach. In order for one to pass out of the darkness into which he
was born, one must pass through the Blood of Mashiach Yeshua.
It is instructive to note that YHWH placed two witnesses in this realm to the Blood being the
separation between the light and the darkness. Both when the sun sets, and again when the sun
rises, one will see the sky turn red for just a few moments. If we are seeing with spiritual eyes we will
hear His Spirit whisper to us the significance of this: that He is the barrier between the light and the
darkness; specifically, His being manifest in the Blood of Mashiach.

Matithyah (Matthew) 13:34-35

34 All these things Yeshua spoke in parables to the multitudes; and without a
parable He spoke nothing to them;
35 that it might be fulfilled which was spoken through the prophet, saying,
I will open my mouth in parables;I will utter things hidden from the foundation of the
world.
Yeshua came to reveal that which had been hidden from the foundation of the world. But in
order to see and understand those things that had been hidden one must have the assistance of His
Spirit, for without His Spirit to teach one, he can understand nothing.
Gilyana (Revelation) 13:8
And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship Him, whose names are not written
in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world.
Mashiach was slain from the very creation of this world. It is difficult for us in this realm to
understand how things happen in the spiritual realm, which we typically cannot see. The slaying of
the Lamb of Elohim happened at the beginning of Creation. But the manifestation of that reality in
the physical realm did not happen right away. It took Elohim four days (four thousand years) to set
the stage for Mashiach to be manifested in this realm for a witness of what was already reality in the
spiritual realm.

Gilyana (Revelation) 5:6-10

6 And I saw in the midst of the throne and of the four living creatures, and in the
midst of the elders, a Lamb standing, as though it had been slain, having seven horns,
and seven eyes, which are the seven Spirits of Elohim, sent forth into all the earth.
7 And He came, and He took it out of the right hand of Him that sat on the throne.
8 And when He had taken the book, the four living creatures and the four and
twenty elders fell down before the Lamb, each one having a harp, and golden bowls full of
incense, which are the prayers of the saints.
9 And they sang a new song, saying,Worthy are You to take the book, and to open
the seals thereof;for You were slain, and did purchase to Elohim with Your Blood
men of every tribe, and tongue, and people, and nation,
10 and made them to be to our Elohim a kingdom and priests;and they reign upon
earth.
What a beautiful scene this describes for us. We are not told when this happened, but we
know that it did. We also know that the Blood of Mashiach played an important and significant role
in bringing Elohim’s people to Himself.
What this teaches us is that the Blood of Mashiach has always been there for all who would
pass out of the darkness into His glorious light. Now many did not know or understand this truth
before Mashiach Yeshua came into this earthly realm. Truth is, not that many understand it even
today. Not much has really changed, has it?

Yochanan Aleph (1st John) 1:7

But if we walk in the light, as He is in the light, we have fellowship one with
another, and the Blood of Yeshua His Son cleanses us from all sin.
Please notice the close correlation between walking in the light, with the Blood of Mashiach.
In order for one to walk in His light, one must be cleansed by the Blood of Mashiach. This means that
one must pass through the Blood of Mashiach to enter into His light.
We would like to deal with one final aspect of the Blood of Mashiach; this concerns where it
was placed by Mashiach Yeshua Himself to purchase our redemption.
There are many ordinances concerning the bringing of sacrifices and offerings to YHWH and
what must be done with the blood of those animals in relation to the sprinkling of the altar. All that
blood cannot take away the sin, but only make one aware of it.

Ivrim (Hebrews) 10:4

For it is impossible that the blood of bulls and goats should take away sins.
Not only did YHWH give commandment concerning the bringing of animals, but He also gave
the tribe of Levi and the family of Aharon to minister these matters before Him in His sanctuary, a
mere copy of the true mishkan in the heavenlies.

Ivrim (Hebrews) 7:14

For it is evident that Adonenu has sprung out of Yehudah; as to which tribe Moshe
spoke nothing concerning priests.
It is important for us to understand that according to Torah Yeshua the Mashiach has no
right to minister in the copy of the mishkan. In fact, it would be sin for Him to do so. Since He is
without sin, then we know that He did not and will not ever do this.

Ivrim (Hebrews) 8:4

Now if He [Yeshua] were on earth, He would not be a priest at all, seeing there are
those who offer the gifts according to the Torah.
On this earth Yeshua our Mashiach is not a priest. His priestly duties are carried out in the
heavenly mishkan where He entered once for all. His ministration of His priestly duties is not in the
earthly mishkan.
But let us also understand that in the earthly mishkan it is against Torah to bring the blood
of a human near to the altar or sanctuary. To do so would be to defile the sanctuary and the altar
and profane the name of YHWH.

Tehillim 106:37-38
37 Yea, they sacrificed their sons and their daughters to demons,
38 And shed innocent blood,Even the blood of their sons and of their daughters,
Whom they sacrificed to the idols of Cana’an;And the land was polluted with blood.
Now if the human blood pollutes YHWH’s land, then surely human blood would pollute the
sanctuary and the altar that is made in the likeness of the heavenly mishkan and altar. Now this is
important to understand because there is a teaching going around today which teaches us that the
precious Blood of Mashiach Yeshua trickled down through the ground into a hidden chamber under
the temple mount and dripped upon the Ark of the Covenant hidden in that secret chamber. This is
pure nonsense! This even goes against what Scripture plainly teaches us. First, human blood on the
altar would defile it. Second, the ministrations of Mashiach are not on earth, for on earth He is not a
priest. His priestly ministrations are in the heavenly mishkan.

Ivrim (Hebrews) 6:20

Where as a forerunner Yeshua entered for us, having become a high priest for ever
after the manner of Melchizedek.
Yeshua entered into the true mishkan in heaven, the one not built with human hands and
applied His Blood to that altar. He did not enter into the earthly mishkan, a mere copy of the
heavenly mishkan, for He is not even able to do so, being of the tribe of Yehudah and not of Levi.
Whereas human blood defiles the earthly altar, the Blood of Mashiach can only be applied to the
heavenly altar. The blood of bulls and goats cannot take away sin and will never be applied to the
heavenly altar. Only the Blood of Mashiach will ever be applied to the true altar in heaven.

Ivrim (Hebrews) 10:28-29

28 A man that has set aside the Torah Moshe dies without compassion on the
word of two or three witnesses;
29 of how much sorer punishment, do you think shall he be judged worthy, who
has trodden underfoot the Son of Elohim, and has counted the Blood of the covenant
wherewith he was sanctified an unholy thing, and has insulted the Spirit of grace?
Let us be sure to give the Blood of Mashiach the proper respect that it deserves and be
careful that we do not insult the Spirit of grace which ministers His precious Blood to each one of us.
Remember, your brothers and sisters in Mashiach also have been cleansed by this precious Blood of
Mashiach.
Therefore, brethren, be careful how you speak to one another for the days are growing ever
darker!
ABBA YHWH, please cleanse us from all unrighteousness by the Blood of Mashiach Yeshua;
for it is in His name we pray.
Amein and Amein.
The Breath of YHWH

B’reshit (Genesis) 2:7

And YHWH Elohim formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his
nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.
In the west it is generally understood that this verse is teaching us that YHWH made man from the
dust of the ground, breathed His Ruach (Spirit) into him, and then man became a living soul
(nephesh). We see in the verse below that YHWH does indeed give a ruach (spirit) to man.

Yeshayah (Isaiah) 42:5

Thus says Elohim YHWH, “He that created the heavens, and stretched them
forth; He that spread abroad the earth and that which comes out of it; He that gives
breath unto the people upon it, and spirit to them that walk therein;”
In the above passage we see that YHWH gives both breath (neshamah) and spirit (ruach) to
His creation, man.
However, as we are about to discover, the verse in B’reshit 2:7 does not actually teach us
about YHWH giving a ruach (spirit) to man. The verse actually uses the word ‫“ – נשמה‬neshamah” –
“breath”, not the word “ruach”. But just exactly what is “neshamah” and what does this word
mean? Let us carefully and prayerfully examine this word from the Hebrew and allow YHWH to
expand our understanding of whom and what He created us to be.

Here is the above verse B’reshit 2:7 in Hebrew.

For now we are interested in the phrase ‫ִש ְ מ ַ ת‬ ‫“ –ח ֶַ יּ ִ נּים‬nish-maht chay-yim”, which is
translated in the verse above as “the breath of life”. In particular we are interested in the word
‫ִש ְ מ ַ ת‬. This
‫ נּ‬particular word is in the construct form coming from the word ‫“ – נשמה‬neshamah”,
which means “breath”.
The formation of this word comes from several other words or combination of words. It is
important and instructive for us to examine each one of these in turn. To begin with, the primary
root word is ‫“ – נשם‬nasham” which means “to breathe or move air”. The Hebrew letter ‫ ה‬on the end
of the word signifies the feminine form. This teaches us that mankind was created to be the bride of
our Creator. We find many supporting verses in Scripture that teach us the very same thing.
The next possible root word is ‫“ – שמה‬shamah” which means “to identify”. This is highly significant
to us as humans as His breath in us identifies us with our Creator. The Hebrew letter ‫ נ‬at the
beginning of this word could signify two separate yet important aspects. The first thing this indicates
to us is that a word which begins with the letter ‫‘( נ‬nun’) is often indicative of the niphal stem. When
a word is in the niphal stem the word becomes passive or reflexive in nature. In this case where ‫שמה‬
is a directive to identify, ‫ נשמה‬would simply mean that “he was identified” with his Creator. We find
this to be the case here.
Secondly, when two Hebrew words are brought together to form a single word often letters
are dropped. In Hebrew the word ‫“ – נא‬na” means “to pray now”. This word is an incitement to pray
and to do it quickly. So, to join ֶ ‫נא‬and ‫ שמה‬one would drop the ending aleph of the word ‫ נא‬thus
giving us ‫ ; נשמה‬which would be an incitement to pray that one be identified with the Creator. Not
every human which is born does this, thus indicating to us that his neshamah is not made living.
Remember that the word “life” is part of the phrase that we began with in the verse above.
We find one additional possible root word in ‫“ – שמע‬shama” which is the root word for “shema”
which means “to hear and obey”. This root ‫ שמע‬means “to listen; pay attention”. This is a possible
root word because it is phonetically identical with ‫ שמה‬and is therefore implied as a possible root.
Again, with the beginning ‫ נ‬we have two truths to understand. The first is that if it is in the niphal
stem, it indicates to us that one who is living has paid attention to and listened to His Nashamah.
Also, with regards to the word ‫ נא‬it is an incitement to listen to and to pay attention to the leading
and direction of His Neshamah!
Then there is also the symbolic meaning of the letters of the word ‫ נשמה‬that gives us
additional information concerning the word “neshamah”.

‫ – נ‬nun: symbolic meaning is endurance, soul, faithfulness, constancy

‫ – ש‬shin: symbolic meaning is peace, falsehood, corruption, sharpen
‫ – מ‬mem: symbolic meaning is maturing, chaos, the revealed and the hidden
‫ – ה‬hey: symbolic meaning is creation, divinity, free choice, mercy

The combination of the letters in this word “neshamah” gives us both an admonition and a
warning. The admonition is for us to be faithful, which brings peace and sharpens us, maturing us in
the inner man, revealing that which YHWH has hidden in us, if we choose to walk in His mercy. The
warning is for us to guard our soul carefully, as falsehood brings chaos into our lives when we do not
seek Him according to His ways.
The neshamah within us then is that inner life which one nourishes. One can nourish and
feed it good things from above. Or, one can feed it earthly and demonic things from below. It is
one’s own free choice. But whatever one feeds himself, it is what he will become. Not understanding
this concerning one’s neshamah will surely result in destruction.
It is from the neshamah that one finds and receives the power to do that which he does. This
is where the ‫“ – רוח‬ruach” enters into the picture. Typically, this word is understood as “spirit”,
“wind” or “breath”. However, it is best understood as simply “wind”, then by extension, “spirit”.
“Ruach” is to “neshamah” as a wind is to a breeze. But when does a breeze become a wind? How
much power and force must be present in order for a breeze to no longer be a breeze but a wind?
YHWH knows, even if man does not know this.

Ma’aseh (Acts) 2:2

And suddenly there came from heaven a sound as of the rushing of a mighty
wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting.
The word “wind” in the above passage is the Hebrew word ‫“ – רוח‬ruach”. Please note that
this wind is a strong wind. It is much more than just a breath. It is the Ruach of YHWH our Elohim
which empowers one’s neshamah for service and the ability to live a victorious life in Mashiach
Yeshua.
In the world of those who have faith in Mashiach Yeshua there is not yet a general
consensus concerning the name of our Creator and how it is properly spoken aloud. At some point
He shall reveal this to His people. In fact, He has already begun to do this very thing. As we move in
that direction there will be much said and “taught” that is right and much that will simply miss the
mark as it will be done in the flesh rather than done in His Spirit.
This is the challenge of each and every one of us, not to walk in the flesh, but rather to walk
in His Spirit. There is victory in His Spirit. There is defeat and heartache in one’s flesh. This defeat will
come not only to one who walks after the flesh, but to many others around such a person. Likewise,
victory not only comes to an individual who walks in His Spirit, but to many others around him as
well.
In the interest of furthering our understanding of how His name is said, let us consider some
things from Scripture that are not often considered in this matter. As we consider these things,
please understand that we are not declaring definitively that we know without any doubts how His
name is to be properly uttered by His people. In fact, we are not even suggesting a possible
pronunciation in this study. What we are putting forth in this study are some points from Scripture
that should help us to move further along in that direction. But each one of us must put aside any
and all pride in this matter. We must be ready and willing to admit that up to now we may have
been wrong. If we are not willing to do these things, then I dare say that we will be left behind in the
dark. If one is not willing to do this, then it is highly probable that he will miss the mark. May we be
open and pliable in His hands!

Amos 4:13
For behold, He that forms the mountains, and creates the wind, and declares to
man what is his thought; that makes the morning darkness, and treads upon the high
places of the Earth - YHWH, the Elohei Tzava’ot, is His name.
In the realm of this physical world, at least as we can currently understand it, without the
movement of air there cannot be the transmission of sound. So, in order for a name to be uttered,
there must be breath or wind. There must be neshamah or ruach involved if words are to be spoken.
Please notice in the verse above that YHWH creates the wind (ruach) before the declaration is made,
before words are spoken to man. One of the declarations of YHWH to man is His name.

B’reshit (Genesis) 3:8

And they heard the Voice of YHWH Elohim walking in the garden in the cool of
the day; and the man and his wife hid themselves from the presence of YHWH Elohim
amongst the trees of the garden.
In the above verse the phrase “in the cool of the day” is from the Hebrew phrase ַ ‫–ה ֶַ יו ֹםל ְ רוּח‬
“l’ruach hayom”, which literally means to the wind of the day. Once again we see that YHWH’s
Voice is associated with “ruach” or “wind”. It is this close association of ruach with His name in
which we are interested and must come to understand.
YHWH commanded that His name be spoken over His people, in this way placing His name upon
them.

B’midbar (Numbers) 6:22-27

22 And YHWH spoke to Moshe, saying,
23 “Speak to Aharon and to his sons, saying, ‘In this way you shall bless the
children of Israel; you shall say to them,
24 “YHWH bless you, and keep you;
25 YHWH make His face to shine upon you, and be gracious to you;
26 YHWH lift up His countenance upon you, and give you shalom.”
27 so shall they put My name upon the children of Israel; and I will bless
them.’”
There is power in the spoken word. In the west we often do not see or understand this in its
fullness. Many years ago I had an incident happen to me which perfectly illustrates the power of
words; not just the power of words, but the meaning of words both in this realm and in the spiritual
realm as well.
Not too long after YHWH took me into deliverance ministry He brought about an incident
that I shall never forget. I was taking a man through a deliverance and at one point the Ruach
Qodesh was having me say some words and then having this man repeat them to help in his
deliverance. For example, I was having him say, “I renounce ….” However, this man was having great
difficulty saying the word “renounce”, as it would come out of his mouth as “reannounce.” No
matter how hard he tried, he simply could not say “renounce”. In order to overcome this after
praying and seeking YHWH, He had me change and use the word “denounce” instead of “renounce”
which solved the dilemma. Later, after the deliverance was complete I did some research as to what
was happening in this instance. What I found was astonishing and taught me a very valuable lesson.
I like dictionaries and have a number of them from different time periods. In a 1908 dictionary I
found that the word “renounce” and “reannounce” were, in fact, the same word. And if one just
thinks about it for just a moment he will see this. Originally, to renounce something meant to
announce it again.
The significance of this in the spiritual realm is far reaching. Demonic beings are, among
other things, very legalistic. If a person opens a door, even unknowingly, they will seek to enter in
and cause problems. This is why we are to walk in His Spirit, rather than in the flesh. Walking in the
flesh will always open doors that one will not be aware of until problems begin to develop. However,
walking in His Spirit will never open those doors for the enemy to come in. So, when a person
“renounces” some sin or demon, the demons simply laugh and continue on, for in the spiritual realm
“renouncing” a demon actually gives him permission to act in that person’s life. In essence it is
reannouncing the demon even though in one’s mind he does not believe he is doing this, but
believes he is doing the opposite. This happens, because technically speaking to renounce something
is by definition reannouncing it. The demons know this and use it to their own advantage. Often a
demonic being will feign leaving upon being “renounced” in order to deceive the person. Then when
one is not expecting it, this demonic being will then attempt to deceive the person into believing
that he is hearing His Voice, when in fact it is the voice of this deceiving spirit.
This incident illustrates the power of spoken words. It illustrates the power not only in the
spoken word, but it also demonstrates the importance of knowing and understanding the meaning
of what is being spoken. No wonder Yeshua Mashiach taught us to be wise as serpents in our
dealings in this world. The principle of the spoken word and its respective meaning certainly has an
application to speaking His name.
So, we must ask ourselves this question: Whose name has been placed upon me?
Now obviously the correct pronunciation of YHWH would be the absolute best choice. But at
present the proper understanding of how correctly to say His name has not risen to prominence.
Does anyone know how properly to pronounce His name today? Perhaps, given the vast variations
of pronunciations currently known, it is possible that someone somewhere is saying it correctly.
It is preferable to do one’s best in saying His name rather than to substitute some other name or
title in place of His name. For substituting another word, title, or name in place of His revealed name
is breaking the third commandment. In speaking another name or title in place of His name one is
placing all that has come before concerning that name or title. Simply using the current meaning of a
name or title simply is not understanding how the spiritual realm functions and most likely will open
doors for problems to enter into one’s life. This we simply do not need! However, if one is open and
honest before YHWH and does His very best to hear His Voice in this matter and acts in accordance
to what he hears from Him, then those doors will remain closed and YHWH will protect us as we
work to come to the proper understanding in His time. However, if one becomes closed minded and
not open to His Spirit in this matter, then a stumbling block has already arisen in one’s life and most
likely will become a stumbling block in the lives of others as well.
It is important that we as His people seek His face. It is important that we seek to know how
properly to speak His name. One of the problems in this is that we must be careful, oh so careful, not
to be condemning of others who are in a different place in their understanding of how to say His
name. Each person has different things in his life which are not pleasing to YHWH. Those things that
are not pleasing to YHWH influence us in our daily walk. Those things also influence us in our
understanding of His truth, and in particular how to say His name. No one is immune to these
unclean influences in his life. It is for this very reason we need each other. It is for this very reason
we need to dialog in a healthy way about this very emotionally charged topic. It is for this very
reason we need to be careful to stay humble as we seek out His truth in this matter. But seek it out
we must!
If one simply assumes the attitude and mindset that no one knows how to say His name in
these days, then this is a cop out and this is shirking one’s responsibility before YHWH to seek His
face in this matter. In short, it is simply being spiritually lazy.

Yechezqel (Ezekiel) 3:12

Then the Spirit lifted me up, and I heard behind me the voice of a great rushing,
saying, “Blessed be the glory of YHWH from His place.”
Please note the association between the wind and the utterance of His name. This great
rushing wind in this verse reminds us of what happened on Shavuot in Acts 2. Simply put, the sound
of His name is in the wind.
Now let us consider one other aspect of this important yet exclusive truth.
Malakim (1st Kings) 19:11-12
11 And he said, “Go forth, and stand upon the mount before YHWH.” And,
behold, YHWH passed by, and a great and strong wind rent the mountains, and brake
in pieces the rocks before YHWH; but YHWH was not in the wind; and after the wind
an earthquake; but YHWH was not in the earthquake;
12 and after the earthquake a fire; but YHWH was not in the fire; and after the
fire a still small Voice.
Even though we have seen in previous passages of Scripture the close association between
the wind (ruach) and YHWH’s name, we find something quite revealing in this passage. In this
passage it teaches us that YHWH was not in the wind, but rather He is a still small Voice, a breath or
whisper. It is in this whisper that His true name is heard so clearly. When the sound of His name is
elevated above a whisper then His name becomes harder to hear and to understand clearly. But in
the whisper of a breath, His name is heard clearly.
Let us prayerfully consider the breath of YHWH as He whispers His name into our being. Let
us be still before Him that we may hear His still small Voice. Let us quiet our inner being and put
aside all the noise and racket of this world that we may hear Him.
ABBA YHWH, teach us to hear your still small Voice; in the name of Yeshua our Mashiach.
Amein.
Shabbat Shalom

Manifestation of Mashiach

Kepha Aleph (1st Peter) 1:20

who was foreknown indeed before the foundation of the world, but was
manifested at the end of times for your sake,
What we see being manifested in this world has been a reality from the beginning in the
spiritual realm. It is something that we often forget or perhaps do not even understand. One of
those realities of the spiritual realm that was not manifested in this world immediately from the
beginning of creation, but rather was manifested much later (at least from our perspective) is the
death of Mashiach; and in particular the Blood of Mashiach, without which no man can have
salvation.

Kepha Bet (2nd Peter) 3:8

But forget not this one thing, beloved, that one day is with YHWH as a
thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.
The manifestation of Mashiach in the realm of man took four thousand years. This seems
like a long time to us. However, in the spiritual realm of YHWH it was only four days from creation of
this realm. From the beginning man was allotted seven days or seven thousand years. We have
already passed through six of those time allotments with only one time allotment left to pass
through.
The truth we need to grasp in this study is the answer to the question: when was the Blood
of Mashiach made available to man? We all know and realize that Mashiach Yeshua was put to
death in this world about two thousand years ago. But what of the four time periods before this and
all those who came before Yeshua Mashiach? Was the Blood of Mashiach available to them as well?
Or, are they just out of luck?
Please notice that in the opening passage above Mashiach was known but hidden from the
foundation of the world. Later He was manifested in this realm. We will discuss the aspect of
manifestation more fully below.
Gilyana (Revelation) 13:8
All those living on earth will worship him, everyone whose name is not written
in the Book of Life belonging to the Lamb who was slaughtered from the foundation
of the world.
As we indicated above, the Blood of Mashiach was a reality in the spiritual realm well before
this reality was manifested in this realm. In fact, what Scripture teaches us is that the Blood of
Mashiach was a reality in the spiritual realm from the beginning of creation. So, are there any other
clues in the Torah to this reality? To be sure! We will get to these very shortly.

Gilyana (Revelation) 1:7-8

7 Behold, He comes with the clouds; and every eye shall see Him, and they that
pierced Him; and all the tribes of the earth shall mourn over Him. Even so, Amein.
8 “I am the Aleph and also the Tau,” says YHWH Elohim, “who is and who was and
who is to come, the Almighty.”
This passage tells us that the One who comes upon the clouds, who is Mashiach Yeshua, calls
Himself the “Aleph and also the Tau.” Please note that He is also known as YHWH Elohim. Now let us
go to the first words of Torah and discover the “Aleph and the Tau.”

‫אֵת‬
‫א ֱ ה ִ ים‬
‫בָּרּ ָ א‬
‫בּ ְ ר ֵ אש ִ ית‬
et
Elohim
bara
b’reshit
aleph/tau
Elohim
created
in beginning
These are the first four words of Scripture. These four words contain volumes of information
if one is willing to receive it.
The first thing that YHWH created was the aleph/tau. The aleph/tau represents several different, yet
related things. One thing that it represents is the complete aleph-bet, that is, all of the Hebrew
letters from aleph ‫( א‬the first letter) to tau ‫( ת‬the last letter). As we saw above the first and last
letters of the Hebrew aleph-bet also represent Mashiach Yeshua, for He says that He is the
Aleph/Tau. As the Aleph/Tau, Mashiach was with Elohim from the very beginning of creation.

Yochanan 1:1-2
1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with Elohim, and the Word
was Elohim.
2 The same was in the beginning with Elohim.
And what was that “Word”? It is the Hebrew word “‫ – ” את‬et, the aleph and the tau. Every
word spoken in Hebrew is made of the letters of the aleph-bet, the letters from aleph to tau. In fact,
we learn that everything of this creation was made through and by Him, the Word.

Yochanan (John) 1:3

All things were made through Him; and without Him was not anything made
that has been made.
The opening verses of B’reshit reveal to us many glorious and wonderful things. Some of
what it reveals to us concerns the Blood of Mashiach. Please bear with us for just a moment as we
dig into the depths of Scripture concerning this matter.
Yeshayah (Isaiah) 45:18
For thus says YHWH that created the heavens, the Elohim that formed the
earth and made it, that established it and created it not a waste, that formed it to be
inhabited; “I am YHWH; and there is none else.”
It is important to note that when YHWH spoke the worlds into existence they were not
created void nor in waste. Rather He formed the world to be inhabited.

B’reshit (Genesis) 1:1-2

z1 In the beginning Elohim created the heavens and the earth.
2 And the earth became waste and void; and darkness was upon the face of the
deep; and the Spirit of Elohim moved upon the face of the waters.
Verse one above tells us that YHWH created the heavens and the earth. But then something
tragic happened and the creation that YHWH had made to be inhabited (see Yeshayah 45:18 above)
was no longer inhabited, but all life was destroyed.
We need to examine briefly the meaning of these first two verses
so that we could rightly establish the verses of the first day. Let us prayerfully examine the first day
now.

B’reshit (Genesis) 1:3-4

3 And Elohim said, “Let there be light”; and there was light.
4 And Elohim saw the light, that it was good; and Elohim was the division
between the light from the darkness.
5 And Elohim called the light Day, and the darkness He called Night. And there
was evening and there was morning, one day.
From B’reshit 1:1 through B’reshit 2:4, these verses consist of an account of the seven days
of creation; there are two words which are of interest to us presently. These two words are “create”
(‫ – ברא‬bara) and “made” ( ‫ – עשה‬asah). The word “bara” occurs four times in B’reshit 1:1 through
2:4; in verses 1:1, 1:21, 1:27, and 2:3. The word “asah” occurs ten times with the first occurrence in
1:7.

“I am come a light into the world, that whosoever believes on Me may not abide
in the darkness.”

In particular, we must come through His Blood. But as we have already noted
above, this separation between the light and the darkness occurred on the first day of creation at
the first revelation of the light into the darkness.
Both when the sun sets and again when the sun rises
one will see the sky turn red for just a few moments. If we are seeing with spiritual eyes we will hear
His Spirit whisper to us the significance of this being that He is the barrier between the light and the
darkness, specifically His being manifest in the Blood of Mashiach.
What this teaches us is that the Blood of Mashiach has always been there for all who would
pass from out of the darkness into His glorious light. Now many did not know or understand this
truth before Mashiach Yeshua came into this earthly realm. Truth is, not that many understand it
even today. Not much has really changed, has it?
What we see in this realm is only a reflection of the reality of the spiritual realm. Scripture
plainly teaches us this truth.

Shemot (Exodus) 25:40

“And see that you make them after their pattern, which has been showed you
in the mount.”
YHWH took Moshe into the heavenly realm and showed him the true tabernacle, the one in
which Mashiach Yeshua is the high priest. Moshe was to make the earthly tabernacle and all that
pertained to it exactly like the heavenly tabernacle. This was to teach us the truth and reality of the
spiritual realm.

Ivrim (Hebrews) 8:4

Now if He were on earth, He would not be a priest at all, seeing there are those
who offer the gifts according to the Torah;
The truth of reality is this, Yeshua our Mashiach is not a priest on earth. He never was and
never will be! It is time that we accept this truth from Scripture. The priesthood of Mashiach Yeshua
is in the one true tabernacle in the heavens, not the one on earth! He ministers in the one true
tabernacle, not in the copy on earth!
What is manifested in this realm has always been true in the spiritual realm. This is truth. It
has always been this way regardless of when or how His truth is manifested in this realm. Was
Mashiach Yeshua crucified in this realm? Yes, but that does not change the reality of truth that it
was so in the spiritual realm long before it was manifested in this physical realm.

Qorintyah Aleph (1st Corinthians) 15:44

it is sown a natural body; it is raised a spiritual body. If there is a natural body,
there is also a spiritual body.
Unlike us in which our physical bodies were before our spiritual bodies, the spiritual body of
Mashiach came before His physical body.
Kepha Aleph (1st Peter) 1:19-20
19 but with precious blood, as of a lamb without spot, even the Blood of
Mashiach;
20 who was known and hidden before the foundation of the world, but was
manifested at the end of times for your sake,
Mashiach was and is the Creator of this world. He is also its Redeemer. That redemption
began before He even created this world as we know it. That redemption was a reality in the
heavenly realm long before it was manifest in this realm.

Qorintyah Aleph (1st Corinthians) 15:47

The first man is of the earth, earthy; the second man is of heaven.
That second man is, of course, Mashiach Yeshua. But He was only second in this realm. In
the spiritual realm He was and is the first man, the Aleph. But He was manifested into this realm at
such a time that He became the second or last man, the Tau. So, He is both the Aleph and He is also
the Tau. He has both a spiritual body and physical body.

Ivrim (Hebrews) 10:5

Therefore when He comes into the world, He says,“Sacrifice and offering You
would not,But a body You did prepare for Me;”
The body of Yeshua was prepared for Him to come into this world. He existed long before
that in His spiritual body.

Tehillim (Psalm) 2:7

I will tell of the decree;YHWH said to Me,“You are My Son;This day have I
begotten You.”
It was in the day of Yeshua’s conception that a physical body was prepared for Him to come
into this world as the second Man.

Ephesians 1:3-4
3 Blessed be the Elohim and Father of Adonenu Yeshua Mashiach, who has
blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Mashiach;
4 even as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we
should be holy and without blemish before Him in love.
Every person was chosen in Mashiach Yeshua before the world was ever created. But it
would not be manifested until much later, each in his own time. Regardless of when a man has lived,
either before Mashiach came into this realm or whether it was after Mashiach came into this realm,
it is only by and through the Blood of Mashiach that one can have eternal life.
Furthermore, if one is going to live a victorious life, it must be done by and through that
same Blood of Mashiach Yeshua. He has already won the victory. That victory was not won on
Calvary, but rather that victory was manifest upon Mount Calvary. This is the clear teaching of
Scripture when we listen to His Spirit.

Ma’aseh (Acts) 10:40-42

40 “Him Elohim raised up the third day, and gave Him to be made manifest,
41 not to all the people, but to witnesses that were chosen before of Elohim,
even to us, who ate and drank with Him after He rose from the dead.
42 And He charged us to preach to the people, and to testify that this is He who is
ordained of Elohim to be the Judge of the living and the dead.”
Mashiach Yeshua was manifested in exactly the right moment in the history of this world.
His manifestation was not too early, nor was it too late; but at exactly the right moment He came
into this world.
Galatians 4:4
but when the fullness of the time came, Elohim sent forth His Son, born of a
woman, born under the Torah.
Let us be thankful that YHWH in His great mercy is able to save all who believe upon
Mashiach Yeshua, whether they lived before He came or after Mashiach Yeshua had already come.

Ivrim (Hebrews) 11:39-40

39 And these all, having had witness borne to them through their faith,
received not the promise,
40 Elohim having provided some better thing concerning us, that apart from us
they should not be made perfect.
Who had faith before the manifestation of Mashiach? It is all those who lived before Him.
Who will be perfected with us in the day of His full revelation? It is all who have had faith in
Mashiach, both those before and those after Mashiach Yeshua.
ABBA YHWH, open our eyes that we may see; in the name of Yeshua our Mashiach we pray.
Amein.
Shabbat Shalom

Trust in the Name of YHWH

Part 1

Yeshayah (Isaiah) 50:10

Who is among you that fears YHWH, that obeys the Voice of His servant? He that
walks in darkness, and has no light, let him trust in the name of YHWH, and rely upon his
Elohim.
There are actually thousands of verses that one could and should consider in this study.
Obviously we cannot do that in this present study. What we will do is to take a cross sampling of
some verses to show the importance of knowing and calling upon His name rather than a substitute.
We will begin by showing that the early talmidim of Mashiach Yeshua knew, understood and used
His name.

Ma’aseh (Acts) 2:21

And it shall be, that whosoever shall call on the name of YHWH shall be saved.
This verse found in the book of Acts is actually a quote from the prophet Yoel.

Yoel (Joel) 2:32

And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of YHWH shall be
delivered; for in mount Tzion and in Jerusalem there shall be those that escape, as YHWH
has said, and among the remnant those whom YHWH does call.
Notice that Kepha does not make reference to the whole verse, but rather only to that part
of the verse that he desires to call attention to, which is dealing with calling upon the name of
YHWH. In both cases the name “YHWH” is referenced and used. Please note that it is those who call
upon this name, the name of YHWH that shall be saved. So, what you need to seriously and
prayerfully consider this day, my dear friend is this: have you called upon this name, the name of
YHWH to be saved? If not, why not? Do not allow pride to stand in your way. Do not allow the
traditions of man to stand in your way. Do not allow your church to stand in your way. Do not allow
anything whatsoever to stand in your way. Call upon His name, the name of YHWH, and you shall be
saved.
However, if you do not call upon His name, but upon a substitute name, will you be saved? Do you
want to take that chance? You cannot afford to be wrong in this with your eternal well-being
hanging in the balance!

Romans 10:12-14
12 For there is no distinction between the Yehudim and the Aramean; for the same
is YHWH of all, and is rich to all that call upon Him;
13 for,Whosoever shall call upon the name of YHWH shall be saved.
14 How then shall they call on Him in whom they have not believed? And how shall
they believe in Him whom they have not heard? And how shall they hear without a
preacher?
Shaul also makes reference to this same passage from the prophet Yoel. He also teaches us
through His Spirit that YHWH is Master over all and any who call upon His name, whether they be
from the southern kingdom of Yehudah or from the northern kingdom of Ephrayim (the Arameans),
shall be saved.
But then Shaul under the inspiration of His Spirit asks us some very pointed questions.
Questions that are right in tune with where we find ourselves today in this world. How is it possible
for anyone to be saved if they do not believe and how can they believe if they have not heard?
Heard what? Brothers and sisters the context is how can they believe if they have not heard His
name? If all a person ever hears is a substitute and only calls upon a substitute, is that calling upon
His name? Of course it isn’t!
Please consider that in the U.S. we have had many presidents to lead our country. Each one
of them is referred to as “President”, for there are many presidents. However, if I was to speak of a
specific president but did not tell you his name, then how could you understand who I was speaking
of? You could not. But as soon as I tell you his name then there is understanding.
So it is with our heavenly Father. Does Scripture not tell us that the Creator of the universe is
the Elohim of elohim? In English it is often rendered as “God of gods.” So if one only ever calls upon
“god” without using His name, then which god is he calling upon? Does not YHWH specifically
command us to call upon His name to be saved? To be sure! So, in order for salvation to be secured
the first step must include calling upon His name, the name of YHWH.
Now there are many people who want to argue about how His name is pronounced. I am
not one of those people. As long as you are doing your dead-level best to pronounce His name, then
it is between you and Him and the leading of His Spirit in your life as to how you pronounce His
name. But be open, and allow for growth in this area and He will reveal to you as you grow. For me
personally in my present understanding I pronounce it as Y’WHO-ah. I will tell you two things
concerning this matter. One, I am still studying it. And two, I have not always pronounced it this way.
I have gone through several transitions. I am still open to His Spirit. After all it is His name, I need to
pronounce it according to the way that He leads me, not what man dictates! You need to do the
same.

Romans 10:16
But they did not all hearken to the glad tidings. For Yeshayahu says,
“Adonai, who has believed our report?”
Again, Shaul makes reference to one of the prophets, this time to Yeshayah (Isaiah) and
points out that not everyone who hears the name of YHWH will believe. Now that you have heard
this truth, will you believe?

Ma’aseh (Acts) 4:12

And in no other is there salvation; for neither is there any other name under
heaven, that is given among men, wherein we must be saved.
I wonder, I mean I truly wonder if all those who read this passage of Scripture actually
believe it. I know that many say that they do. Many Christians read this passage and say that they
believe it. But they don’t really. Why? Because the context of this passage tells us something
different than what is commonly believed in Christendom today. Why? It is because in modern
English translations of the Bible the name of our Savior has been removed and another name has
been substituted in its place; a name (Jesus) that has no historical or etymological justification for its
use.
Kepha and Yochanan (Peter and John) had healed a lame man through this name. In verse
ten it is recorded what this name was that they healed this man with. From the Peshitta, we find the
following:

Hebrew
‫ה ַ נּ ָצ ְ ר ִ י‬
ַ ‫הּ ָ מּ ָ ש ִ יח‬
‫ע ַ י ֵשוּ‬
‫בְשֵם‬
English transliteration
hannatzri
hammashiach
Yeshua
B’shem
English translation
The Nazarene
The Messiah
Yeshua
In name
We need to realize that in Hebrew there never was and still is not a “j” nor a “j sound”,
showing to us that the name “Jesus” is highly suspect just from that one aspect. His name was and is
“Yeshua” according to all historical references. If you are reading this and you know of some
historical reference that has some other rendering of His name different than that above, please
email me.
In Kittle’s Greek Theological Dictionary under the Greek equivalent of “Yeshua” we find
some very intriguing information. He makes reference to a Latin name, “Gesu”, which he states is
the masculine form of a male deity in Rome. Furthermore, he goes on to state that the female
deity’s name is “Gesues”, which we would pronounce as “Jesus”. Yep, you read that right, the name
pronounced as “Jesus” was a female deity in ancient Rome. Ever wonder why Roman Catholicism
uses Latin? Now you know one of the reasons.
Now, you are probably wondering about the difference between the name of YHWH and the
name of Yeshua. If there is only one name under heaven by which men may be saved, then which is
it, “YHWH” or “Yeshua”? Good question. The answer may surprise you. Let us turn to Scripture for
the answer.

Yeshayah (Isaiah) 47:4

Our Redeemer, YHWH Tzava’ot is His name, the Holy One of Israel.
Please note that it is YHWH Tzava’ot that is our Redeemer.

Tehillim (Psalm) 24:10

Who is this King of glory?YHWH Tzava’ot, He is the King of glory. Selah.
Here we learn that YHWH Tzava’ot is the King of glory.

Yeshayah (Isaiah) 37:16

YHWH Tzava’ot, the Elohim of Israel, that sits above the cheruvim, You are the
Elohim, even You alone, of all the kingdoms of the earth; You have made heaven and
earth.
In this passage we learn at least two very important truths. One, it is YHWH Tzava’ot who
spoke to Moshe from between the cheruvim on the mercy seat of the Ark of the Covenant. Two, it is
YHWH Tzava’ot who is the Creator of heaven and earth.

Yochanan (John) 1:1-3

1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with Elohim, and Elohim was
the Word.
2 The same was in the beginning with Elohim.
3 All things were made through Him; and without Him was not anything made that
has been made.
Are you beginning to see? Mashiach Yeshua is YHWH Tzava’ot incarnate in the flesh. YHWH
Tzava’ot is the pre-incarnate Mashiach. YHWH Tzava’ot is not the Father in heaven, YHWH Tzava’ot
is the name of the Son.
So which name is it that we must call upon to be saved? Are we to call upon YHWH Tzava’ot
or upon Yeshua? Since we now understand that both of these names are two names of the same
Person, are we to prefer one over the other? Let me suggest to you that wisdom dictates that we
call upon Mashiach Yeshua in the name of YHWH Tzava’ot thereby fulfilling all of the
aforementioned passages of Scripture.
Please do not deceive yourself into believing that calling upon some other name is okay or
that He will understand. You need to understand Him and what He has commanded you. Will you
submit to His will in this matter? Or, will you follow the traditions of man?

Tehillim (Psalm) 116:13

I will take the cup of salvation,And call upon the name of YHWH.
Let us now briefly examine what YHWH says to those who seek Him, but seek Him according
to their own ways and not according to His ways.

Yeshayah (Isaiah) 65:1

“I am inquired of by them that asked not for Me; I am found of them that sought Me
not; I said, ‘Here I am, Here I am!’ to a nation that was not called by My name.”
See, I wonder who YHWH is talking about in this verse? Could it be that He is talking about
Christianity? Below we will see that this is exactly who YHWH is talking about, because He describes
Christianity to a tee! Notice that YHWH allowed them to find Him. But to what end? YHWH answers
this question in the following verses.

Yeshayah (Isaiah) 65:2

“I have spread out My hands all the day to a rebellious people, that walk in a way
that is not good, after their own thoughts;”
Is Christianity rebellious to YHWH? You’d better believe it! Why? It is because Christianity
teaches that the commandments (Torah) of YHWH have been done away with and then they put
their own laws in its place – that is rebellion!

Yeshayah (Isaiah) 65:3-4

3 “a people that provoke Me to My face continually, sacrificing in gardens, and
burning incense upon bricks;
4 that sit among the graves, and lodge in the secret places; that eat swine's flesh,
and broth of abominable things is in their vessels;”
Christianity teaches that it is okay to eat anything, including swine. However, YHWH
commanded us not to eat it! Furthermore, in this passage YHWH specifically states that eating swine
flesh provokes Him to His face. Now I ask you, is that a very wise thing to do? YHWH states in this
chapter what He is going to do to those who provoke Him and it is not going to be pleasant!
Yeshayah (Isaiah) 65:5
“who say, ‘Keep to yourself, do not come near me, for I am holier than you.’ These
are a smoke in my nose, a fire that burns all the day.”
I have run into this attitude so often it is frightening and sickening. Furthermore, YHWH finds
it detestable. If one takes the attitude that he is better than another and if he does not repent of
that then one day he will find out just how detestable he is to YHWH.

Yeshayah (Isaiah) 65:6

“Behold, it is written before Me; I will not keep silence, but will recompense, yea, I
will recompense into their bosom,”
YHWH will repay those who eat swine and are rebellious against His commandments!

Yeshayah (Isaiah) 65:7

“your own iniquities, and the iniquities of your fathers together,” says YHWH, “that
have burned incense upon the mountains, and taunted Me upon the hills; therefore will I
first measure their work into their bosom.”
Not only will YHWH pay them back for their own sin, but also for the sin of their fathers. He
will do this simply because they found Him, but they would not repent of their evil ways, but walked
in the counsel of men rather than in the counsel of YHWH.

Yeshayah (Isaiah) 65:8

Thus says YHWH, “As the new wine is found in the cluster, and one says, ‘Destroy
it not, for a blessing is in it’; so will I do for My servants' sake, that I may not destroy them
all.”
For those who actually call upon the name of YHWH, He will have mercy upon them and not
destroy them. For those who do not call upon His name, He will destroy them.

Yeshayah (Isaiah) 65:9

“And I will bring forth a seed out of Ya’aqov, and out of Yehudah an inheritor of My
mountains; and My chosen shall inherit it, and My servants shall dwell there.”
Are you among His chosen? If you claim to be among His chosen, then by whose standards,
man’s or YHWH’s?

Yeshayah (Isaiah) 65:10

“And Sharon shall be a fold of flocks, and the valley of Achor a place for herds to
lie down in, for My people that have sought Me.”
It pleases YHWH when we seek Him by name and not the name of another.

Yeshayah (Isaiah) 65:11

“But you that forsake YHWH, that forget My holy mountain, that prepare a table for
God, and that fill up mixed wine to Meni;”
If there has been any doubt up to this point as to who YHWH is referring to in this chapter,
this verse removes all that doubt. Why? YHWH uses a play on words to bring this out to us, at least
to those who have ears to hear. It is with the word ‫“ – גּ ָד‬gad” which is pronounce as “god”. The “a”
sound is that
which is the “a” sound as found in the word “father”. This is who Christianity sets a table for;
they set a table for “God”. YHWH clearly states that all those who set a table for “God” are forsaking
Him. This is what YHWH says, not me. Do you believe what YHWH says? You should because your life
depends upon it!
The word ‫“ – מני‬meni” also is a play on words as it is pronounced like the English word
“many”. Wine is often used in Scripture in conjunction with worship. Here the reference is to mixed
worship. This type of worship is detestable to YHWH. Mixed worship is mixing truth and error, as
when one worships the Creator of the universe but does so with pagan practices mixed in. For
example, the names of “god” “lord” and “jesus” are all mixing worship. His name as demonstrated
above is “YHWH” and “Yeshua”. “Meni” (many) practice this mixed worship in our world today and
YHWH is NOT pleased with it.

Yeshayah (Isaiah) 65:12

“I will destine you to the sword, and you shall all bow down to the slaughter;
because when I called, you did not answer; when I spoke, you did not hear; but you did
that which was evil in My eyes, and chose that which I did not delight in.”
Every person reading this had better take serious note of what YHWH states in this verse. He
states quite clearly that those who are rebellious against Him, those that set a table for “God”, “I will
destine for the sword and they shall all be killed.” Do you think that YHWH’s arm is so short that He
cannot perform His word? Be sure of this one thing this day, YHWH will bring this to pass!
Now the question before you is this. Are you going to humble yourself in His eyes and obey
Him? Or, are you going to continue to follow man and be destroyed? It is your choice! I have done
my duty as a watchman and your blood is on your own head!
ABBA YHWH, may You send strong conviction through Your Spirit upon each person who
reads this message from You; in the name of Yeshua our Mashiach.
Amein and Amein!

Trust in the Name of YHWH

Part 2 – The Name of Mashiach

Ma’aseh (Acts) 4:12

And in no other is there salvation; for neither is there any other name under
heaven, that is given among men, wherein we must be saved.
In part one, we demonstrated the importance of knowing and calling upon the Name of
YHWH/Yeshua. In this study we are going to examine the spelling and pronunciation of the name of
our Mashiach. Please keep in mind that this study is given for your edification and is not the final say
on this matter. For I myself continue to study this, and as new material comes to light that may
require an update or an outright change, then YHWH willing I will be open to His leading and
guidance.
One of my foremost concerns in this study and this subject is that there are many splinter
groups who declare that if a person does not spell and pronounce His name according to their
understanding, then they cannot be saved. I do not believe this type of attitude to be of His Spirit.
We need to give grace to one another and allow YHWH to be Sovereign instead of attempting to
force light upon another; which in no way can we do no matter how hard we try and no matter what
tactics we may employ in such an endeavor.
If even after going through this study you are still convinced of a different way, and the
position you take is being honest with yourself and the leading of His Spirit in you, then halleluYah,
we are brothers and sisters in Mashiach. The thing is that each one of us must examine ourselves
carefully in this matter as to why we hold to what we hold to. And above all, we need to be
completely honest with all the evidence available in this matter. Only then can we get to where
YHWH desires to take us.

Keeping these things in mind, then, let us proceed.

As one can see in the opening verse of this study, there is only one name given by which any
man might be saved. This verse then illustrates to us the great importance of knowing that one
name, and perhaps also knowing how properly to speak it, i.e., its phonetic value. Since this seems
to be the obvious pashat meaning of this verse, then we should expect that without too
much difficulty, since YHWH has preserved this truth for us to find. All we need to do is search out
the matter.

Matithyah (Matthew) 7:7

“Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and you shall find; knock, and it shall be
opened to you.”
ABBA YHWH, we ask You to open our eyes and our heart to Your truth in this matter. May
You allow us to see through all the rhetoric and other things that cloud the truth in this, that we may
walk before you in truth and in Spirit; in the name of Mashiach Yeshua. Amein.
Frankly, this question is fraught with emotions. For one even to broach this subject, he risks
being embroiled in all sorts of controversy. There are many pitfalls into which one may fall as one
attempts to make his way through this virtual minefield of supposed facts and information available
today. It is easy to become disoriented and sidetracked by well-meaning, albeit, misdirected
individuals or groups. It is still easier to become overly dogmatic and static in one’s position,
becoming unwilling to entertain the idea that another may have pertinent and relevant information
which may require one to change His position. This is exacerbated further when one finds some
seemingly good information in print that is incorrect, but heretofore unknown to the reader.
Here is a case in point. In the Preface of ISR’s The Scriptures we find this:
In the same way the Messiah’s Name in Hebrew, ‫ יהושׁע‬, was chosen in order to avoid
controversy. All the available authoritative sources and references are in agreement and clearly
admit that our Messiah’s Name was ‫( יהושׁע‬see for instance even Kittel’s Theological Dictionary of
the New Testament, under Iesous).
This one passage along with the use of the spelling ‫ יהושׁע‬throughout this work has spawned
many groups which are so adamant that this is the only correct way to spell the name of the Messiah
that it is shocking and disconcerting, to say the least. This is so because Kittel never makes this claim.
In fact, he actually states that the Messiah’s name was spelled ‫“ – ישוע‬Yeshua.” For example here is
one quote from Kittel’s work:
page 289
4. According to Mt. and Lk. the name ‫’ ==ע ַ י ֵשׁוּ‬Ιησους is not accidental. It is given to the child of Mary
by virtue of the divine promise.
page 290 – quoting H. Lamer
In any case, the formation of ’Ιησους for ‫ע ַ י ֵשׁוּ‬is centuries older than the Christian period.
page 285
2. Up to the beginning of the 2nd century A.D. the name ‫ע ַ י ֵשׁוּ‬or ’Ιησους was very common among
the Jews.
Kittel explains that from the time of the exile up to the second century it was the name ‫ע ַ י ֵשׁוּ‬
that was in common use rather than the full form of ֻ ׁ‫“ –ע ַי ְהו ֹשׁ‬Y’hoshua.” The name ‫ע ַ י ֵשׁוּ‬came into
disuse by the beginning of the 2nd century because of Messiah being named ‫ע ַ י ֵשׁוּ‬, and the full
spelling began to be used among the Jews once again.
It is not possible to quote all of Kittel as his section concerning the name of Messiah is ten
pages long. However, in my having read and studied this section for many years, I have found that in
no place does Kittel state that the Messiah’s name was spelled any other way except ‫ע ַ י ֵשׁוּ‬.
There is no way for us to know why or how this error occurred in the preface of the ISR, but it has
caused many to have a misunderstanding of the history and the historical name of our Messiah,
Yeshua.
However, Kittel does include in this section a very important bit of information found on
page 289.
The ‫ י‬indicates the tetragrammaton.
Let us then illustrate this truth from Scripture. The name “Yoseph” is found in the Scriptural
record. What does this name mean? Brown’s, Driver’s and Brigg’s tells us that this name means
“YHWH has added.” As we can see from the spelling of this name, ‫יו ֹס ֵ ף‬, the only portion of YHWH’s
name is the beginning ‫י‬. Thus we see that all that is necessary for the name of YHWH to be included
in the meaning of the name is the beginning ‫י‬.
This concept becomes even clearer and dead on point when we consider the following.

D’varim (Deuteronomy) 32:44

And Moshe came and spoke all the words of this song in the ears of the
people, he, and Hoshea the son of Nun.
Both Strong’s and Brown’s, Driver’s and Brigg’s tell us that the meaning of the name ֵ ‫–ע ַהו ֹשׁ‬
“Hoshea” means “salvation.” Thus, when the ‫ י‬is added to the front of the name making it ֹ ‫שֻׁׁ ְהו‬ ‫–ע ַ י‬
“Y’hoshua,” the name now means “YHWH saves” or “YHWH is salvation,” and both Strong’s and
Brown’s, Driver’s and Brigg’s agree with this meaning. Please note that it is not ‫יהו‬
at the beginning of this name that means and stands for “YHWH” and His name, for only the ‫י‬
was added at the beginning of the name and it is only the initial ‫ י‬that stands for the name of YHWH;
for the ‫ הו‬was already present in this name.
Now let us understand the historical context and use of the name ‫ע ַ י ֵשׁוּ‬. Let us take the
name of “Matthew” to illustrate what happened. “Matthew” is a fairly common name in our society
today. In fact, it is often common practice that when parents name their child “Matthew” they will
often call him “Matt.” “Matt” is a short form of the name “Matthew.” This is easily seen.
What is not as readily seen is that there are some parents who actually name their child
“Matt.” In this case the name “Matt” is not short for “Matthew.” While “Matt” is still a derivative of
the name “Matthew,” in this case it stands alone and is not actually short for the longer form.
As we all know from Scripture the name ‫ע ַ י ֵשׁוּ‬is a shortened from of the name ֻׁ‫ע ַי ְהו ֹשׁ‬. However, this
does not make every usage of the name ‫ע ַ י ֵשׁוּ‬a shortened form of the name ְ ‫ע ַ הו ֹשֻׁׁי‬. In fact, the plain
historical record clearly indicates to us that the name given to our Messiah by His parents was the
name ‫ע ַ י ֵשׁוּ‬. In this case this was His actual given name and it is not short for the longer full version
of this name. It is still a derivative of the longer form, but the longer form was not the given name of
Mashiach, the shorter form was.
Let me say this. I am open to any historical evidence that shows otherwise. If you have in
your possession a picture or photocopy of an ancient document showing some other spelling than
‫ ישוע‬, then please do me the kindness of sending it to me. At this point I do not believe that such a
document exists. Now mind you such a document needs not only to have a different spelling than
‫ ישוע‬, but it also must be referring to Messiah. As we know from extra-Biblical records, this was a
very common name. So just because one can produce a document with a particular spelling does not
prove that this was the way Mashiach’s name was spelled unless that particular document is actually
referring to Mashiach Himself. Also, I am not interested in your sending me some teaching that is
attempting to “prove” that His name just had to be spelled a certain way, which has no historical
evidence to back up what is being put forth. Such teachings are not worthy of our time or attention.
The Peshitta throughout clearly has the spelling of Mashiach’s name as ‫ שועי‬. We need to be honest
enough to admit this to ourselves and to one another. As we do this it will help to bring unity to His
body as we all serve the same Master! In the meantime let us be careful to give grace to those who
are not where we are in our present understanding.

We need to discuss one other aspect that seems to confuse this question.

Yochanan (John) 5:43

“I have come in My Father's name, and you do not receive Me; if another shall
come in his own name, him you will receive.”
One of the common fallacies found today in the Hebrew Roots movement is that one of the
things that this means is that one must find in the name of Mashiach the name of YHWH. This could
not be further from the truth. Let us illustrate.
I have three sons, Lemuel, Nechemyah and Othniel. My name is Zerubbabel. Often I send
one of them to the feed store to pick up some feed where I have a charge account. My sons do not
pay for the feed, I do. When I send them to pick up feed they charge it to their father, me. They do
not go in their own name, they go in my name. As you can see, my name is not in their name.
However, they go in the authority of my name because I have given them that authority. This is what
this verse means.

Yochanan (John) 5:27

“and He gave Him authority to execute judgment, because He is a Son of man.”
Yeshua clearly taught us that the Father gave Him authority

Matithyah (Matthew) 28:18

And Yeshua came to them and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been
given to Me in heaven and on earth.”
Who gave all this authority to Mashiach Yeshua? It was the Father in heaven.

Matithyah (Matthew) 11:27

“All things have been delivered to Me by My Father; and no one knows the
Son, except the Father; neither does any know the Father, except the Son, and he to
whomsoever the Son wills to reveal Him.”
Are you beginning to see that when Yeshua stated that He came in the name of His Father
He was not dealing with the spelling of His name, but rather that He had been given authority; and
that He did not come of His own initiative, but rather He came because the Father sent Him and He
came in the power and authority of His Father?
Please make careful note of this next passage.

Matithyah (Matthew) 8:9-10

9 “For I also am a man under authority, having under myself soldiers; and I say
to this one, ‘Go’, and he goes; and to another, ‘Come’, and he comes; and to my
servant, ‘Do this’, and he does it.”
10 And when Yeshua heard it, He marveled, and said to them that followed,
“Amein I say to you, I have not found so great faith, no, not in Israel.”
You see this Roman centurion understood the concept of authority. And even more to the
point he understood that Yeshua had come in the name of His heavenly Father and one cannot have
any more authority than that!
Now, just in case you may still have a small nagging doubt as to the veracity of this truth, please take
note of the prophet Moshe.

Shemot (Exodus) 5:23

“For since I came to Pharaoh to speak in Your name, he has dealt ill with this
people; neither have You delivered Your people at all.”
When YHWH found Moshe in the wilderness He sent Moshe to Pharaoh, king of Egypt, in His
own Name, the name of YHWH. Now I ask you, where in the name of Moshe is the name of
YHWH? It is simply not there. What this is dealing with is that YHWH sent Moshe on an errand and
Moshe had the authority of YHWH to get that errand done, because he went in the name of YHWH.
In fact, this is true of every single prophet in Israel. Every single one of them came and spoke in the
name of YHWH, for He had sent them. They were not speaking of their own accord; they were
speaking by the authority He had given them.
D’varim (Deuteronomy) 18:18
“I will raise them up a prophet from among their brethren, like you; and I will
put My words in His mouth, and He shall speak to them all that I shall command Him.”
Does this mean that YHWH was going to bring another prophet by the name of Moshe? How
silly! It means that He will raise up another prophet who will come in the name of YHWH with all the
power and authority necessary to get done that which YHWH has commanded Him to get done.
Such is Yeshua our Mashiach.
Yeshua came in the name of His Father, meaning that He has been given all the power and
authority necessary to get done that which YHWH needs to get done. Furthermore, it is by this
authority which He then commissioned us to go in the name of the Father.

Matithyah (Matthew) 28:19

“Go therefore, and make disciples of all the nations, immersing them into the
name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.”
We are sent in the authority of His name to immerse those who believe into that same
name. This simply teaches us about the authority vested in us by Mashiach through His Spirit.
May YHWH continue to teach each and every one of us His truth!
ABBA YHWH, remove all those things which hinder us from knowing and understanding Your
truth; in the name of Yeshua our Mashiach. Amein.
Shabbat shalom

What Is Your Hope?

The Person of Mashiach

I pray that] the eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may
know what is the hope of His calling, and what the riches of the glory of His
inheritance in the set-apart ones,

Ephesians 1:18
There are many things in this world that a person can hope for. He can hope for a new
house. He can hope for a raise at his place of employment, or even for a new job or new boss. He
can hope for a new car, a new big-screen TV or new clothes. He can hope that his sports team wins
the game.
Whatever it is that a person places his hope in, except for that which is Scriptural (which we
will get to later in this article), is all misplaced hope. It is misplaced because it cannot bring eternal
life and that is what true hope gives to us.
One thing that many Christians today place their hope in, is their religious experience
(experience of salvation?). This truth can be difficult to understand when a person’s hope is
misplaced.

Please let me illustrate this concept with two incidents.

A person related to me one time that they had recently been to a big revival meeting with a
big name Christian personality. While there at this meeting (at which there were thousands of
people in attendance) this person said that they saw a vision of Jesus on a throne above the person
preaching.
What immediately came to my mind was the passage of Scripture concerning the testing of
the spirits in Yochanan Aleph 4:1-6

Yochanan Aleph [1 John] 4:1-6

1 Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they
are from Elohim, because many false prophets have gone out into the world.
2 By this you know the Spirit of YHWH: every spirit that confesses that Yeshua
Mashiach has come in the flesh is from YHWH;
3 and every spirit that does not confess Yeshua is not from YHWH; this is the
spirit of the anti-Messiah, of which you have heard that it is coming, and now it is
already in the world.
4 You are from YHWH, little children, and have overcome them; because
greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world.
5 They are from the world; therefore they speak as from the world, and the
world listens to them.
6 We are from YHWH; he who knows YHWH listens to us; he who is not from
YHWH does not listen to us. By this we know the spirit of truth and the spirit of error.
So I just simply asked this person if they had done this; if they had tested the spirit of the
vision.
They exploded!
This person tried to lay hands on me in an unkind way, and if there would not have been a
table between us at that moment, this person would have succeeded.
We got them calmed down after a bit. But try as I might I could not get them to see the need
to submit to this command found in Scripture.
I tried to explain that if this vision was from YHWH, then when they tested the spirit of the
vision, and found that it was from YHWH, they would be able to keep the vision.
However, if the vision was not from YHWH, why would they want to keep it anyway?
This person insisted that this was their vision and that they did not care where it was from; they
were not going to give it up.
This was a strong indication of exactly where the vision was from and I said as much. But
they had closed their mind to His Word.
The second incident was very similar. This person had had a visitation from a malak (angel)
one night when they were young. They based their salvation upon this visitation (which I had
discerned earlier in the conversation).
Again, I asked this person if they had tested this vision according to Scripture (Yochanan
Aleph 4:1-6).
They asked how they should do this. I then led them in testing the vision. The final outcome
was that they rejected the vision and asked Yeshua to forgive them of their sins and be their Savior.
These two incidents illustrate two vastly different attitudes toward Scripture.

Tesalonqyah Bet [2nd Thessalonians] 2:10

and with all deceit of unrighteousness for them that perish; because they
received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved.
The first had an attitude of pride and rebellion and was not interested in any Scripture that
went contrary to anything they believed or held as dear.
The second had an attitude of having a love of the Truth and was willing to submit to the
Truth of Scripture no matter what the cost. Also, in the first they were not willing to submit their
personal experience to the truth of Scripture; whereas, the second did submit their experience to
Scripture and allowed it to be judged by Scripture, and then changed what was found to be lacking.
The first had placed their hope in the vision, and when shown that this might be a misplaced hope,
became violent. The second when shown their hope was misplaced, immediately corrected it so that
their hope would not be misplaced.
If your hope is misplaced, are you willing to correct it? Your eternal wellbeing is at stake.
If you have spent any time at all in the church system, then you probably have heard someone
testify to being saved, in which he specifically stated when and where he received salvation, even to
the point of the date, time, and place. It is not wrong to know this information or to testify to this
information.
However, is that person really saved? What is he placing his hope in? Is he not placing his
hope in that particular experience?
To be sure, a person who places his hope in the experience of salvation, will not remain
saved (provided he was saved in the first place).
Again, where is your hope?

Being Enlightened.
Ephesians 1:18
[I pray that] the eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may
know what is the hope of His calling, and what the riches of the glory of His
inheritance in the set-apart ones,
I truly pray that your eyes of understanding would be opened to this truth: the importance
of having your hope in the right place.
The condition prayed for in the above verse, is so they might know the hope in which they
are called, by the enlightenment of their heart. This enlightenment comes from and through the Set-
apart Spirit in their lives. The implication of this verse is that, without the enlightenment spoken of,
it is not possible to know what the “hope of His calling” is.
Have you been enlightened? Do you know what your hope is?

Yochanan [John] 1:9

There was the true light which, coming into the world, enlightens every man.
Upon further examination of the enlightenment spoken of above, the apostle Yochanan
records that Yeshua, the true light, “enlightens every man.” The difference between those who have
and know this Hope, and those who don't, is the acceptance or rejection of Yeshua as Master and
Savior.
Who is Master of your life? Is it Yeshua Mashiach? Or are you the Master of your own life? Is
your hope in yourself or Mashiach?

Colossians 1:26, 27
The mystery which has been hidden from the ages and generations; but has
now been manifested to His set-apart ones, to whom YHWH would make known what
is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Nations; which is Mashiach in
you, the hope of glory.
It is YHWH who has chosen to make this hope known to those who believe in Mashiach. He
has made known this mystery. It is the indwelling, abiding presence of the Spirit of Mashiach (the
Set-apart Spirit), which gives the believer his hope. One’s hope consists of Mashiach living in him.
This clearly shows that the believer’s hope is present tense, not future tense.
The Hope of the Body is the same Person who died for their sins. He is the One who gives
hope, because He is the embodiment of Hope. Yeshua is the one who insures life
with Him in the world to come (eternity). Without this Person there can be and is no hope. It is by
placing one’s life in His hands that he can and does obtain hope.

1 Timothy 1:1
Shaul, an apostle of Yeshua Mashiach by the commandment of YHWH our
Savior, and the Master Yeshua Mashiach, who is our hope.
The apostle Shaul under the inspiration of the Set-apart Spirit says that it is Yeshua Mashiach
who is our Hope! This should be comforting to the believer.
Since one’s Hope is also his Savior, and He the Son is YHWH incarnate, certainly his Hope
must then be sure. It can be found wherever Yeshua is. He is also, in a very real sense, if a person
believes in Him, in his heart or with him.

Ivrim [Hebrews] 6:18b-20a

We might have a strong consolation, who have fled for refuge to lay hold upon
the hope set before us: which hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and
steadfast, and which enters into that within the veil; whither the forerunner is for us
entered, even Yeshua.
As is shown in this passage of Scripture, one’s Hope is both sure and steadfast. Why? Simply
because one’s Hope is the Person of Yeshua Mashiach. Would a person’s Hope be sure and steadfast
if it were anything other than this Person? It could not be.He is eternal. He is the only One Who is
truly eternal.
Also it can be seen that this Hope has gone into the veil. This is where Yeshua is. The Hope of
all believers is there and they may enter the veil by faith, without fear of condemnation. YHWH will
accept them, not on their merits, but because of Who their Hope is.
When you had the experience of repenting of your sins, did that experience enter into the
veil in Heaven? Surely you can see that it was not your experience of salvation that entered into the
veil, but rather it was Yeshua Mashiach that entered into the veil as our Hope.
This then brings one again to the reality of who Yeshua is. As the Incarnate YHWH (Isaiah
9:6), He is Elohim. Yeshua is YHWH (Katan [lesser]). Here is the sureness of our Hope. YHWH is
always faithful. Yeshua is always faithful.

Kepha Aleph [1 Peter] 1:21

Who by him do believe in Yeshua, that raised him up from the dead, and gave
him glory; that your faith and hope might be in Yeshua.
Is your hope in the Person of Yeshua Mashiach? Or has your hope been in the experience of
when you repented of your sins?
If your hope has been misplaced in the past, then please, right this moment, pause in your
reading and repent of this wrongness and place your hope in Him.

Yochanan Aleph [1 John] 3:3

And every man that hath this hope in him purifies himself, even as he is pure.
A person who has accepted the sin offering of Yeshua in his life must then remain true to the
Hope which he now has been given.
And finally, here is the one verse in all the Scripture that refers to the “blessed hope.”

The Blessed Hope.

Titus 2:13
Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great Master
and our Savior Yeshua Mashiach;
The common teaching in the church today is that Messiah can return at any moment. One of
the verses that is used to teach this false doctrine is the above passage. They wrongly claim that the
hope of the believer is the appearing of Messiah. But is this actually what this passage says or
teaches? Let us examine it closely.
This verse clearly states that the true followers of Yeshua are to be looking for two separate
things: 1) their blessed hope; and 2) the appearing of Yeshua Messiah, Who is their Hope.
These two items are so closely related that it is difficult to distinguish between the two. But we must
be able to distinguish between them. Why? Not to understand the truth of this passage is to travel
the road of false doctrine, which if followed too far will lead one into eternal damnation. This hope is
not the event of His appearing. As we have already shown, a person’s Hope should be the Person of
Yeshua Mashiach.
If the hope of the Body is His appearing, then all those who died before His appearing have
not seen this hope; they have all died in vain.
However, if the hope of the Body is Yeshua, Himself, and it is, then they have not died in
vain, nor without hope. But in hope, they have died in Mashiach.
So the question has been presented to you, what is your hope?
Do you hope for things? Do you hope for more of something? Do you place your hope in a
past work of Mashiach in your life?
If you had misplaced your hope before you read this article, hopefully you have now sought
to remedy this and have placed your hope in Him as He is our Hope.
Heavenly Father, help us all to have our hope properly placed in the Person of Mashiach so
that we might all have eternal life in Him.
Amein and Amein!

YHWH’s Sovereignty and the Talmid’s Response

Tehillim (Psalm) 145:13

Your kingdom is an everlasting kingdom,
And Your dominion endures throughout all generations.
YHWH reigns over His creation to do His will. His creation that we live in, is part of His
kingdom, but it is not the sum total of it, for we cannot see the entirety of His kingdom, let alone the
entirety of His creation.
One of the biggest struggles people today have in following Mashiach is this whole question
of sovereignty, particularly YHWH’s sovereignty. It seems that the majority of people just gets caught
up in everyday life and do not stop to see that He is working in every detail of their lives. Many
cannot see His hand at work in their everyday living and become sad and depressed as a result of not
being able to see YHWH working in such a marvelous way. People become sad and depressed
because they wrongly think that what is happening to them is not good and not in YHWH’s control.
Many times one’s life feels out of control. When a person feels this way, it is linked to a lack of vision
that YHWH is sovereign.
The first thing that we must face is the question of sovereignty. Is YHWH sovereign or not? Is
YHWH sovereign in my life? Now the answer to this question must be more than academic; it must
be more than mere words. The answer to this question must come from a deep inner abiding
knowledge and understanding based upon faith and trust in YHWH through Yeshua our Mashiach,
that YHWH is indeed sovereign over His creation and that nothing happens in it without His express
approval.

Galatians 3:26
For you are all sons of Elohim, through faith, in Mashiach Yeshua.
If this statement is true in your life, then faith is one of the foundation stones of your
existence. All good things come to us by and through faith in Mashiach Yeshua, including salvation
and eternal life, which means one has been adopted into the family of Elohim and has become His
son. This means many things which we are going to examine in this study, particularly those dealing
with the sovereignty of our Elohim in the life of the talmid.
“Talmid” is the Hebrew word for “disciple” and “talmidim” is the plural for “disciples.” It
simply means “student” or “one who learns”, for this is what we all are, His students.

Romans 9:21
Or does not the potter have a right over the clay, from the same lump to make
one part a vessel for honor, and another for dishonor?
YHWH is absolutely perfect in who and what He is. This means that all He does is done with
perfect precision. It is difficult for us to understand at times that all that YHWH has made and makes
is according to His will. He makes no mistakes. Man often asks Elohim why He made him that way.
But the answer is always the same: because it was His will to do so.
The biggest problem with questions such as this is that it is based upon pride in the
individual. He thinks he should have deserved better than what YHWH has given him. But such
queries also draw into question His sovereignty over His creation to do with as He sees fit. This world
was not placed here for our own pleasure, even though we can and do gain pleasure in this world.
This world was created by our Creator for His own good pleasure to accomplish His will in, through,
and by, all that He has created.

Mishle (Proverbs) 16:4

YHWH has made everything for its own end;
Yea, even the wicked for the day of evil.
It is time that we come face to face with reality in YHWH’s world. The common
understanding in western society because of the influence of Christianity is that our Creator is all
about love and non-judgment of one another. However, this view is in denial of many things found in
Scripture, many of which are YHWH speaking about Himself.
The truth is that not everyone is going to be saved. In fact, if one can believe the testimony
of Scripture, then not everyone is created for salvation. This is hard for some to swallow, but this
does not make it any less a part of His truth.

Yeshayah (Isaiah) 64:8

But now, YHWH, You are our Father; we are the clay, and You our potter; and
we all are the work of Your hand.
Here is the problem that is seen in this world. There are many who do not want to be the
clay. They would rather be the potter. And so a person takes over YHWH’s rightful position as the
Potter and attempts to make himself in his own image. The problem is that his vision is so marred
that he does not know what he is making. The one doing such a thing does not realize that he needs
to make a vessel that will be able to endure eternity. This is what YHWH is doing
in each person who will surrender to His will and place his life totally and completely in His hands.
YHWH is the Master Potter. He knows what He is doing even if the pot cannot see what the end
result will be or what it will look like. This is where faith and trust enter into the picture. We will
discuss this aspect more below. But what about those who are not willing to surrender to His will?
What about those who would rather be the potter?

Yeshayah (Isaiah) 29:16

16 You turn things upside down! Shall the potter be esteemed as clay; that the
thing made should say of Him that made it, He made me not; or the thing formed say
of Him that formed it, He has no understanding?
All who attempt to be their own potters will find that they have only made a pot for
common use and in the end it will be rejected as a vessel worthy of eternal life.

Ephesians 2:10
For we are his workmanship, created in Mashiach Yeshua for good works, which
Elohim beforehand prepared that we should walk in them.
When a person is indeed created in Mashiach, then he is His workmanship. The problem
arises when a person having once surrendered to Him and His will, takes back the reins and begins
doing his own will once again. When this happens, such a person is not walking in the works YHWH
has prepared for him to do.
Each person, when he comes to Yeshua and submits his life to Him as Savior and Mashiach,
is created a new being in that moment. In that same moment he is placed in the body of Mashiach
according to His will. And according to His will each person is given a task to do to accomplish His
will. It is not an individual’s choice what this is or what it entails. Each one of us must do as we are
created to do.
It is when an individual does not do as Yeshua has created him to do, that dysfunction and
disunity come into the body of Mashiach. When this happens, then all sorts of problems develop in a
domino effect from one talmid to another. This illustrates the serious need for each person in
Mashiach to come to terms with YHWH’s sovereignty and his own individual place in the body of
Mashiach.

Sh’muel Aleph (1st Samuel) 2:7

YHWH makes poor, and makes rich;He brings low, He also lifts up.
Please note that this verse does not say that YHWH makes every poor person rich, or that He
brings low all that which is high, or that He lifts up all that is low. What this verse is saying, is that
when a person is lifted up or brought low, YHWH is the one who has done it. This is very important
for each one of us to understand. In Scripture, many of the bad things that happened to Israel were
because they chose to live in disobedience to His commandments; and
these were recorded for us to know about and to learn from their example. Albeit, an example of
what not to do.

Qorintyah Aleph (1st Corinthians) 10:11-12

11 Now these things happened to them by way of example; and they were
written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the ages have come.
12 Therefore let him that thinks he stands take heed lest he fall.
The truth of the matter is that the vast majority of things recorded in Scripture are placed
there for the express purpose of teaching us what not to do. This is especially true when recording
what the people in Scripture did. So when one looks at historical incidents and things in Scripture,
this is one of the questions that he must answer if he is going to walk the straight and narrow path
YHWH has called us to walk. Taking an example from the life of a person in Scripture and doing
likewise without answering this question is like playing Russian roulette with only one empty
chamber. Sooner, rather than later, one is going to do the wrong thing.
Please note that in the passage above before verse eleven, there is a whole list of things
recorded that Israel did that were punished by YHWH, and these things were recorded to teach us
not to do them. Yet, in many cases, we as talmidim of Yeshua fall into the very same predicament
and end up being punished by YHWH for the same sins. Then we fall before YHWH and bewail our
plight and wonder why all this has happened to us and why we are being punished.
Many times it is like Yehoshua falling before YHWH after the first battle at Ai. Israel was
soundly defeated because of one man’s sin in the camp. He did not obey YHWH and took things into
his tent that were under the ban. How many things do we, as talmidim of Yeshua, have in our homes
that YHWH has told us not to have because they have been banned by Him?
My son Lemuel related an incident from his going to college. One of the English professors
was talking with Lemuel as the professor was grading term papers. There are certain topics that are
very popular and after a while the professor will ban certain topics because he gets tired of reading
papers on that one topic. This particular day, as this English professor was grading papers, he ran
across a paper in which the student wrote upon a banned topic. The banned topics are written upon
the board for all to see when an assignment is given. There was no excuse for this student to write
about a banned topic. Thus, the professor was quite angry that this person wrote about a banned
subject. As a result, the paper came under the ban and was treated appropriately.
Likewise, YHWH has banned certain things from being a part of our lives. He has written
those down in His Torah. When a person disregards those instructions concerning what YHWH has
banned and does so anyway, he will face discipline. He will receive a failing grade. Now YHWH gives
us compassion if we repent of this and remove the banned items. Unless the banned items are
removed, that person himself will come under the ban.

D’varim (Deuteronomy) 7:26

“And you shall not bring an abomination into your house, and become a
banned thing like it; you shall utterly detest it, and you shall utterly abhor it; for it is a
banned thing.”
YHWH is not slow to discipline His children. If each child needs the same type of discipline,
then so be it. But what YHWH would rather have, is for His children to learn from the past mistakes
of His other children. This is exactly why He had it all recorded: so we could learn from their mistakes
and not have to go through the same discipline as they had to endure.

Yochanan (John) 15:16

“You did not choose Me, but I chose you, and appointed you, that you should
go and bear fruit, and that your fruit should abide; that whatsoever you shall ask of
the Father in My name, He may give it you.”
YHWH has chosen each one of us. A person becomes His child when he repents and accepts
Yeshua as Savior and Mashiach. From that crisis event of repentance and being born again, a person
is supposed to grow in grace and knowledge of Mashiach Yeshua.
Please note the reference to prayer in the above passage. If a person asks anything from our
heavenly Father in the name of Yeshua, He will give it to him. Now this does not mean that one
should go about asking for things that are outside of His will for that person. Please note this
passage.

Ya’aqov (James) 4:2-4

2 You lust, and do not have; you kill, and covet, and cannot obtain; you fight
and war; you have not, because you ask not.
3 You ask, and do not receive, because you ask amiss, that you may spend it in
your pleasures.
4 You adulteresses, do you not know that friendship with the world is enmity
with Elohim? Whosoever therefore would be a friend of the world makes himself an
enemy of Elohim.
No talmid of Yeshua has any excuse for ever praying anything whatsoever outside of YHWH’s
will; there simply is no excuse for it!
Now I realize that this is a pretty bold statement. However, it is completely true. When a
person repents of his sin and gives his life to Mashiach, does He not give to that person His Spirit?
Does not His Spirit know His will? If a person has the Spirit of Mashiach, then why wouldn’t that
person know His will?

Qorintyah Aleph (1st Corinthians) 2:16b

But we have the mind of Mashiach.
The truth is that he should know. But the reality is that one often does not. Why? One often
does not know His will for his own life simply because he has not taken the time to listen for it. One
must hear and obey His Voice. “In this case, what is His will for me?” Also, one often does
not know His will because he is not willing to walk in the fullness of His will. He is not willing to
surrender his own personal will and replace it with the will of our heavenly Father.
When praying for others, do you simply pray what you were requested to pray by the other person?
When you do that, do you realize that you are very likely praying that person’s will? How can our
Father answer such prayers? The prayer life of most talmidim today is a “hit-n-miss” proposition.
Frankly, it is shameful.

Luqa (Luke) 11:1

And it came to pass, as He was praying in a certain place, that when He
ceased, one of His talmidim said to Him, “Adonenu, teach us to pray, even as
Yochanan also taught his disciples.”
So what is the first step in a talmid’s prayer life? Should it not be to ask what His will is in a
particular matter? To be sure! If one is asked to pray, then his prayer should begin by asking YHWH
to teach him what to pray in this situation. This is what Yeshua’s talmidim did then. This is what
Yeshua’s talmidim still do today. They seek Him and ask Him to teach them to pray. Not just in a
general sense, but rather in each and every specific circumstance.
If you ask me to pray for you or for a particular situation in your life, then I will ask YHWH to
teach me to pray for you in this particular circumstance so that I know without any doubt that what I
am praying is according to His will. After all, is this not what we truly desire? It is what we truly need,
to pray according to His will rather than according to the will of man, whether that man be you or
me.

Yochanan Aleph (1st John) 5:14-15

14 And this is the boldness which we have toward Him, that, if we ask anything
according to His will, He hears us;
15 and if we know that He hears us in whatsoever we ask, we know that we
have the petitions which we have asked of Him.

Here is the way that YHWH has designed it to be.

1. We ask Him what to pray for;
2. He tells us what to pray for;
3. We pray;
4. He answers.
The problem arises when the first two steps are left out. But when these steps are included,
then our faith is perfect. When we pray with perfect faith, then He will give to us exactly what we
have asked for because it is what He has told us to pray. We know without any doubts that it is His
will for this to be done, because what we are praying is straight from Him.
Please allow me to say it again.
No talmid of Yeshua has any excuse for ever praying anything whatsoever outside of YHWH’s
will; there simply is no excuse for it!
Please make a special note of what this does to a person’s faith. When we do things
according to His plan and according to His will, then our faith is increased. Let me ask you a question:
can you walk on water? No? Why not? What if the Spirit of Yeshua told you to walk on water
because there was a need for you to do so? Could you then? Of course! Do you see the difference?
In the first instance, just because one would like to do so because it would be fun, or cool, or to
prove a point, is selfish and YHWH will not answer. However, if He tells us to do this because we
need to do it because it is His will, well then, there is no problem as long as we step out and take
that first step. YHWH will answer and we will do what He has requested us to do. It will be done one
step at a time.
Let us consider Nebuchadnezzar and what YHWH did in his life.

Daniel 4:17
The sentence is by the decree of the watchers, and the demand by the word of
the holy ones; to the intent that the living may know that the Most High rules in the
kingdom of men, and gives it to whomsoever He will, and sets up over it the lowest of
men.
In this particular case YHWH chose Nebuchadnezzar to rule over the kingdom of Babylon,
which at that time encompassed the whole earth, not literally, but figuratively.

Yirmeyah (Jeremiah) 27:5-6

5 “I have made the earth, the men and the beasts that are upon the face of the
earth, by My great power and by My outstretched arm; and I give it to whom it seems
right to Me.
6 And now have I given all these lands into the hand of Nebuchadnezzar the
king of Babylon, My servant; and the beasts of the field also have I given him to serve
him.”
YHWH clearly tells us that many times we do not understand His thoughts or His ways. In
this case YHWH placed the rule of the world under a man who did not fully follow YHWH, a man who
worshipped and served pagan gods.

Yeshayah (Isaiah) 55:8-9

8 “For My thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways My ways,”
says YHWH.
9 “For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than
your ways, and My thoughts than your thoughts.”
When a leader is placed at the head of a nation, be sure of this one thing: YHWH has done it!
One may not understand this, but it does not make it any less true. YHWH is sovereign over His
creation to do His will according to His time. Please note that YHWH clearly states that
Nebuchadnezzar was His servant. The problem arose when Nebuchadnezzar stopped acting like that
and became lifted up with pride. Then YHWH set discipline over him.

Daniel 4:25
“that you shall be driven from men, and your dwelling shall be with the beasts
of the field, and you shall be made to eat grass as oxen, and shall be wet with the dew
of heaven, and seven times shall pass over you; till you know that the Most High rules
in the kingdom of men, and gives it to whomsoever He will.”
The whole point of this lesson for Nebuchadnezzar was to teach him who was sovereign in
this world. It is YHWH! Then YHWH had it recorded and preserved so that each one of us could learn
this same lesson, at his expense no less. YHWH is sovereign. I wonder if we are getting this lesson.
Or, will YHWH need to teach us this lesson at our own expense?

Daniel 4:34
“And at the end of the days I, Nebuchadnezzar, lifted up my eyes to heaven,
and my understanding returned to me, and I blessed the Most High, and I praised and
honored Him that lives forever; for His dominion is an everlasting dominion, and His
kingdom from generation to generation.”
We know that, at least at that moment, Nebuchadnezzar got the lesson from YHWH that He
is sovereign over His creation to do with it as He wills. I hope and pray that each one of us learns and
understands this lesson from Scripture as well, for it is such an important and vital lesson.
On a side note, the “end of days” in this passage is speaking to the end of the days of discipline that
Nebuchadnezzar had to endure.

Daniel 4:37
Now I, Nebuchadnezzar, praise and extol and honor the King of heaven; for all
His works are truth, and His ways justice; and those that walk in pride He is able to
abase.
Not only did Nebuchadnezzar learn this lesson, but he also lifted up praise to YHWH. In that
praise of our Creator, Nebuchadnezzar states a truth that was borne of this experience. YHWH is
fully able to bring low those who are full of pride.
Tehillim (Psalm) 75:7
But Elohim is the judge; He puts down one, and lifts up another.
YHWH always does this according to His will. He watches over His creation to perform His
will. His will, will be done. Yeshua even taught us to pray this.

Matithyah (Matthew) 6:9-10

9 “You, therefore, pray like this:Our Father in heaven!May your Name be kept
holy.
10 May your Kingdom come,Your will be done on earth as in heaven.”
How is YHWH’s will done in heaven? When YHWH gives instructions to one of His
messengers, His messenger immediately runs off to do that which he was instructed to do. If only His
people would be so diligent! Yeshua taught us that we are to make this desire a part of our prayers
so that it becomes a reality in our lives in the here and now.
We have spoken a little bit about prayer and faith above as it relates to the sovereignty of YHWH in
our lives. What about trust? Do we as followers of Mashiach Yeshua truly trust Him? Do we trust
Him with everything that we have and own as well as all our relationships? Or, do we live in such a
way that we think and act as though we sometimes know better than He does? Do we get mad at
YHWH at times for what He is doing in our lives? If we do, then we are not fully trusting in Him at
that moment. He is fully trustworthy and He is always a good Father to each and every one of His
children, giving to them good and perfect gifts according to His will and according to the need of the
child.

Ya’aqov (James) 1:17

Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the
Father of lights, with whom there is no variation, neither shadow that is cast by
turning.
Everything that comes into our lives is good for us. The problem arises when we do not see it
as being so. Sometimes we see things that come into our lives as being evil. If a person has a tumor
and goes in for surgery, that tumor is removed by inflicting pain upon the patient. That pain will last
for a while until the wound heals. But when the wound heals, then the person is better off, for the
tumor is gone.
Likewise, every single thing that YHWH either sends or allows to come into the life of the talmid is
good for us. We may not see it right away. We may not even see it in this life. But we can rest
assured that all things from Him are good and perfect for us. It is also for the greater good of His
body as we fulfill His will within that framework of talmidim.

Matithyah (Matthew) 7:11

“If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how
much more shall your Father who is in heaven give good things to them that ask
Him?”
It has been the common practice of Israel to see all things as coming from the hand of our
Creator.

Ephesians 5:20
giving thanks always for all things in the name of Adonenu Yeshua the
Mashiach to Elohim, even the Father;
There is great safety in living as if all things come from YHWH our Elohim! First of all, it is
true. All things do come from Him. He either causes them or He allows them. But the result is the
same: they are from His hand. It is time that each talmid of Yeshua firmly grasps this truth.
The difficulty arises when the talmidim of Yeshua go around and give credit to Satan for doing
something to them or in their lives. Yes, Satan does attack us. But do you realize that he cannot do
this unless YHWH gives him permission? Do you realize that Satan can only do His will? Yes, he is in
rebellion, but YHWH is still sovereign! It is time that the talmidim of Yeshua stop giving Satan honor
and glory and credit, for he deserves nothing.
When YHWH allows Satan to attack us, then YHWH is disciplining us. We need to
immediately seek YHWH in this matter and ask Him what we have done to allow this to happen. If
we are being attacked, then there is only one of two reasons that this can come about. One is that a
person has done wrong and is being disciplined. The other is that we have done right and Satan is
angry about it and causes us to suffer for it. But in either case, the reason that YHWH allows the
attack in the first place is to draw us closer to Him! YHWH is always teaching us something through
this if we will seek Him and ask what it is that we are to learn.
But there is one other aspect of understanding that all things are from His hand that is
perhaps the most important of all. It safeguards us in a way that we may not realize.

Matithyah (Matthew) 12:31-32

31 “Therefore I say to you, every sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven men; but
the blasphemy against the Spirit shall not be forgiven.
32 And whosoever shall speak a word against the Son of man, it shall be
forgiven him; but whosoever shall speak against the Holy Spirit, it shall not be
forgiven him, neither in this world, nor in that which is to come.”
It seems that most people would agree that this is a very serious matter, to speak against His
Spirit. However, as much as has been written about this, some good, some not so good, and some
downright wrong, there is a lot of misunderstanding as to what Yeshua meant when He said this. So
what did He mean?
Yeshua had just cast a demon out of a man who was blind and dumb, and He caused him to
see and speak. Yeshua did this by the Spirit of YHWH. However, there were those who were present
who declared that this was done by the ruler of the underworld, Ba’al Z’vuv. In short, these men
stated that a work done by the Ruach Qodesh was an unclean work done by a demon.
Any time that we as His talmidim see or hear of something that we do not fully understand,
and as a result of that lack of understanding, declare that something is demonic, then we take gun in
hand and point it directly at ourselves. If a particular work is done by demons, then no harm comes
to us. However, if a particular incident was actually done by and through the agency of His Spirit,
then that person has just committed spiritual suicide if he declares that particular work to be done
by demons.
Brothers and sisters, we need to be extremely cautious and very judicious about declaring
that anything is demonic. Just because we do not agree with something, or just because something
does not hold up to what we presently believe, does not automatically make it demonic. Consider
how far you personally have come in the last several years. Look how your understanding has grown
and changed. Consider how many times your present walk has been called demonic. Do not be guilty
of doing the same thing! In a few more years you may be where you did not ever think you would be
as you continue to grow and mature in Mashiach Yeshua. We need to show great wisdom in this
area of our lives.
When we take the rightful position that all things come from YHWH, then we are totally safe
and will never commit the sin which cannot be forgiven. For it is absolutely true that all things are
from our heavenly Father. Let us live and act like it and give praise to YHWH our Elohim, rather than
to Satan!

1st Timothy 1:17

Now to the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only Elohim, be honor and
glory forever and ever. Amein.
YHWH is the only one who truly deserves credit. Satan can only do that which YHWH allows
him to do. If it is not within the will of our sovereign Elohim, then Satan cannot do it. It is that simple.
Let every man praise YHWH and thank Him for all things just as Scripture teaches us to do and stop
giving place to Satan in our lives. Let us cast him far from us and give the glory and honor to YHWH
our Elohim.
Whatever is in a man’s heart, this is what will eventually come out of his mouth. YHWH
causes the events in each person’s life to be so ordered so as to put him under pressure to cause this
to happen.

Devarim (Deuteronomy) 8:2

“And you shall remember all the way which YHWH your Elohim has led you
these forty years in the wilderness, that He might humble you, to test you, to know
what was in your heart, whether you would keep His commandments, or not.”
YHWH is in the business of revealing hearts. This is why it is so very important, that when
things happen in a person’s life such as tragedy or adverse circumstances or whatever it may be, that
we seek YHWH our Elohim and allow Him to speak to us and show us what is in our hearts. Whether
it is good or evil, YHWH will bring it to the surface for that man to see. But he must be willing to be
honest with himself and accept the truth that YHWH shows to him.
Part of the purification process of this life is coming to grips with the sovereignty of YHWH in
one’s personal life. Yes, YHWH is sovereign over His creation, but have you and I made Him and
am I making Him sovereign over my own life personally? This is the real question. This is where the
struggles of life are focused. Whatever the reality is, YHWH will reveal it. If there is a particular area
in which a person has not relinquished control to YHWH, then YHWH will bring circumstances to
bear upon that person so that this is revealed. First to the person, then to others if the person is not
getting it so that others may point this out to him.

Here are some questions for each one of us to ponder before YHWH our Elohim.

1. Does my prayer life reflect YHWH’s sovereignty? Or, do my prayers reflect a self-centeredness?
2. Do I really trust YHWH? Does my life reflect that I really trust His personal instructions for me? Do
the words of my mouth reveal trust or a lack of trust?
3. Do I regularly step out in faith to follow YHWH? Or, does my life reflect a lack of faith and that I
only walk by sight?
4. Do I really know that all things come from my heavenly Father’s hand? Or, am I still caught up in a
worldly mindset in which there are such things as accidents, coincidences, and such things that place
the control of my life out of His loving hands?
Here is the truth of this matter: YHWH is, in fact, sovereign over all. The question is: Have
you made Him sovereign over your life? Have you made Him sovereign over every area and
everything in your life? If not, then how can He give to you eternal life, which means that you will
spend it with Him, the Sovereign of the universe?

Qorintyah Aleph (1st Corinthians) 15:24-28

24 Then comes the end, when He shall deliver up the kingdom to Elohim, even
the Father; when He shall have abolished all rule and all authority and power.
25 For He must reign, till He has put all his enemies under His feet.
26 The last enemy that shall be abolished is death.
27 For, He put all things in subjection under His feet. But when He says, “All
things are put in subjection”, it is evident that He is excepted who did subject all
things to Him.
28 And when all things have been subjected to Him, then shall the Son also
Himself be subjected to Him that did subject all things to Him, that Elohim may be all
in all.
The reality is that each person will bow the knee and declare that Yeshua is the Master of all.
Now if a person does this in the here and now, then this coming declaration will only serve as an
entrance into eternal life. However, if a person refuses to do it now, and only acknowledges His
sovereignty on the Day of Judgment, he will do so to his own damnation.

Gilyana (Revelation) 11:17

saying, “We give You thanks, YHWH Elohim, the Almighty, who are and who
was; because You have taken Your great power, and did reign.”
One of the purposes of the millennial reign of Mashiach is to reveal to man His sovereignty.
It is also to show man that the evil in his own heart must be removed and that each individual is
fully responsible for getting this done. As we know from Scripture, Satan will be bound for one
thousand years. The comedian Flip Wilson made a saying popular many years ago. “The devil made
me do it.” While this comedian made this saying popular, the idea has always been and continues to
be a part of modern day culture. I am not at fault because the devil made me do it. Well, who is
going to be blamed during the millennium when the devil has been bound and cannot tempt
anyone? One of the purposes of the millennium is to reveal to man that a devil is not necessary for
man to do evil, for the darkness in one’s own heart is more than sufficient for this. Rebellion comes
from the inside, not from the outside.
Each person does what he does because that is what he wants to do. No person ever truly
“forces” another person to do anything. It is time that we all grow up and take responsibility for our
own actions and choices. We do what we do because we choose to do it. Often what actually
happens, is that a person is looking for an excuse to do something and when a convenient scapegoat
comes along, he jumps on and rides it for all it’s worth. Because most people do this, most are
actually willing to support another in whipping his personal scapegoat; because when it is their turn
to use a scapegoat, they want to be supported in like manner. But none of that is being honest with
the reality of personal choice and responsibility.
The greatest choice that any one of us can make is to turn over our own personal
sovereignty to YHWH our Elohim and become His servant, doing as He instructs us in every matter,
both great and small.

Mishle (Proverbs) 29:18

Where there is no vision, the people perish; But he that keeps the Torah, happy
is he.
His people need a vision of His sovereignty. We need to see that He is indeed worthy of our
service. We need to see that He is fully trustworthy and He will never disappoint us. We need to see
that to make Him sovereign over our own personal lives is the greatest choice that one could ever
make.
ABBA YHWH, we submit our lives to You, fully and completely; in the name of Yeshua our
Mashiach. Amein and Amein.
.

Who is the Strong Man?

Understanding who we are binding.

Luqa [Luke] 11:14-26

In modern Christianity it is commonly and generally taught that the strong man referred to
in this portion of Scripture is Satan. It is a frequent occurrence that those who teach and believe this
also go about binding the strong man. However, as we will see when examining this portion of
Scripture in context and with other verses in support of the ideas and concepts related in this
passage, we will see that the strong man is not Satan. Rather we will see that the strong man is
Mashiach Yeshua Himself.
This will seem rather shocking to some at first, but we just need to allow Scripture to say
what it says and allow the Ruach Qodesh to teach us His truth in this matter. When it comes down to
it, all of us desire the same thing, to serve our Master in truth and in purity. At the end of this
teaching we will have some practical suggestions concerning the strong man.

Luqa (Luke) 11:14-16

14 And He was casting out a demon that was dumb. And it came to pass, when the
demon was gone out, the dumb man spoke; and the multitudes marveled.
15 But some of them said, “By Ba’al Z’vuv the head of the demons he casts out
demons.”
16 And others, testing Him, sought of Him a sign from heaven.
There arose an occasion in which a man had a demon which caused the man to be unable to
speak. Yeshua cast this demon out of the man. The man was then able to speak. Many marveled at
this feat, while others were skeptical and expressed doubt at this obvious execution of power, as to
the source of that power.
Notice that there were those present when Yeshua cast out this particular demon, who
accused Him of being able to do this by Ba’al Z’vuv, or as he is called in many English Bibles,
“Beelzubub” or “Beelzubul.” He is referred to as the “head” or “prince” of the demons.

Luqa (Luke) 11:17-18

17 But He, knowing their thoughts, said to them, “Every kingdom divided against
itself is brought to desolation; and a house divided against a house falls.
18 And if Satan also is divided against himself, how shall his kingdom stand?
Because you say that I cast out demons by Ba’al Z’vuv.”
A kingdom divided against itself cannot stand. Now many have not seen what Yeshua has
actually said in these two verses. Remember, Yeshua is accused of casting out demons by Ba’al
Z’vuv. Then Yeshua makes a very clear statement in which Satan is divided with Ba’al Z’vuv on the
other side. Many have wrongly believed that Satan and Ba’al Z’vuv are two names for the same
being. But this is simply not in accordance with what Yeshua is saying. Yeshua uses these two names
as referencing two different beings.
It is interesting to note that in the Apocryphal writing of the Gospel of Nicodemus, Ba’al
Z’vuv goes against the wishes of Satan and gives permission for Mashiach to release the captives
(not that Mashiach needed permission anyway!). But the point is that Ba’al Z’vuv and Satan are not
the same person. Furthermore, what this particular piece of literature shows to us is that Satan’s
kingdom was in fact divided and as a result, fell (or will in the near future).

Luqa (Luke) 11:19-20

19 “And if I by Ba’al Z’vuv cast out demons, by whom do your sons cast them out?
Therefore they shall be your judges.
20 But if I by the finger of Elohim cast out demons, then the kingdom of the Elohim has
come upon you.”
The point that Yeshua is making here is that it is foolhardy to think that demons are being
cast out by other demons. What would be the point? Furthermore, Yeshua is asking a very pointed
question. If He, being the Son of Elohim, is casting out demons and being accused of doing it by the
power of the head of the demons, Ba’al Z’vuv, then in whose name and in whose power are their
sons casting out demons? Surely it is by the name of and power of YHWH!
Then to drive home His point Yeshua tells them that the kingdom of Elohim has arrived. I wonder if
we are really listening to this point? His kingdom is not some distant future event, it is right now!

Luqa (Luke) 11:21-22

21 “When the strong man fully armed guards his own court, his goods are in
peace;
22 but when a stronger than he shall come upon him, and overcome him, he takes
from him his whole armor wherein he trusted, and divides his spoils.”
In verse 21 above the phrase “the strong man” is one word in the Hebrew Peshitta, ַ ‫–גּ ִ בּו ֹרה‬
“haggibor,” which means the strong man or the strong one. This same word is used several times in
the Tanak in reference to YHWH. We show two such verses below with the words in English
underlined that are translated from ַ ‫ גבּו ֹרה‬.

Devarim (Deuteronomy) 10:17

“For YHWH your Elohim, He is Elohei of the elohim, and Adonei of the adonim, the
great El, the mighty, and the terrible, who regards not persons, nor takes reward.”
Yirmeyah (Jeremiah) 32:18
“who shows lovingkindness to thousands, and recompenses the iniquity of the
fathers into the bosom of their children after them; the great, the mighty El, YHWH
Tzava’ot is His name;”
In both verses above we find the term ַ ‫ גבּו ֹרה‬as a reference to and a description of YHWH. In
the passage from Yirmeyah we find this a particular reference to YHWH Tzava’ot, which is a
particular name applied to Mashiach in the Tanak.
So, when we see that Yeshua uses this word here we have to strongly suspect that He is
referring to Himself and no one else. Furthermore, when Yeshua speaks of one stronger coming and
binding ַ ‫גבּו ֹרה‬
the strong man, He uses a different word. He uses the word ‫“ֶ ח ָ ז ָ ק‬shechazaq,”
‫שׁ‬ in which the
root word is ‫“ חזק‬chazaq,” which means “strength.”
Let us prayerfully consider that perhaps what Yeshua was referring to in this passage was His
own binding and being bound to a cross to die. Now this was a completely voluntary act on His part
and had He wanted to, He could have ended it at any moment, for being the Creator of all that we
know, no one and nothing is stronger than He is. However, for the sake of our salvation He allowed
Satan to be stronger than He is for just a short season.
Next, we need to consider the actions of the one doing the binding being described here as one of a
thief and a robber. Please note this next passage.

Yochanan (John) 10:1

“Amein, amein, I say to you, he that enters not by the door into the fold of the
sheep, but climbs up some other way, the same is a thief and a robber.”
Now I ask you, is Mashiach Yeshua a thief and a robber? No! In fact, if He ever did this then
He would be breaking Torah and thus disqualifying Himself from being Mashiach. No, the thief and
the robber is Satan. And once again, let us see this truth in another passage.

Yochanan (John) 10:10

“The thief comes not, but that he may steal, and kill, and destroy; I came that they
may have life, and may have it abundantly.”
Yeshua did not come to steal anything. He doesn’t need to because He is already the Owner
of everything since He is also the Creator. The Creator cannot steal what He already owns!

Yochanan (John) 8:44

“You are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father it is your will to do.
He was a murderer from the beginning, and stands not in the truth, because there is no
truth in him. When he speaks the lie, he speaks of his own; for he is a liar, and the father
thereof.”
Yeshua is neither a liar nor a thief. Satan is a liar and a thief, and he was from the very
beginning. He has not changed. Mashiach Yeshua is the same yesterday, today and forever.
One more point about the strong man being Mashiach rather than Satan. When a person studies the
Besorah (“Good News”) in the stars, called in Hebrew “the Mazzarot,” there are several strong men
depicted in the constellations. Each one of these have a different name, but in each case the strong
man is clearly depicting Mashiach.
For example: There is Ophiuchus who is wrestling with a great serpent. While he is wrestling
with this great serpent one of his feet is on the head of the scorpion. His other foot is being pierced
by the stinger of the scorpion. This brings to mind the following passage.

B’reshit (Genesis) 3:15

“and I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your seed and her
seed; He shall bruise your head, and you shall bruise His heel.”
Elohim in speaking to Satan says that he will bruise the heel of Mashiach, but Mashiach will
bruise his head. We see this perfectly depicted in this constellation of the strong man Ophiuchus.
In another depiction of the strong man we find Bootes, the One who is to come.
Then in another we find Hercules who is fighting with the hydra, a many-headed serpent.
Then there is Aquarius the water bearer who is pouring his water upon the earth from heaven. This
brings to mind what Yeshua said in that streams of living water would come forth from within us.
Then there is Cepheus the crowned king seated upon his throne.
Then there is Perseus who has cut off the head of Medusa, the woman with the many
snakes for hair.
Then there is Orion the glorious one who has slain the roaring lion (Satan).
Then there is Auriga the shepherd who is protecting his flock with his life.
This should be sufficient to show that in each case the strong man depicted in the stars is a
picture of Mashiach showing us a particular truth concerning Him. When we put all those pieces
together then we have a fairly complete picture of who Mashiach is and what He was to do.
Yeshua also taught us that we were not to lay up treasures for ourselves on earth, where
thieves are able to break in and steal.

Matithyah (Matthew) 6:19-20

19 “Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon the earth, where moth and rust
consume, and where thieves break through and steal;
20 but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth
consume, and where thieves do not break through nor steal.”
Satan is a thief. We are to lay up for ourselves treasures in heaven that he cannot get to.
Yeshua is the Guardian or Strong Man of those treasures. What is in His hand no one can take. Satan
was only stronger than Mashiach Yeshua for a season, so that Yeshua could purchase our salvation
and redemption. While Satan had Yeshua bound to a cross and put to death, death could not hold
Him and He has broken the bounds of death and has risen in victory.

Luqa (Luke) 11:23

“He that is not with Me is against Me; and he that gathers not with Me
scatters.”
We are either for or against Yeshua as Mashiach. It is not so much our words, but rather the
actions of our lives that show what is true and what is not true.

Luqa (Luke) 11:24-26

24 “The unclean spirit when he is gone out of the man, passes through waterless
places, seeking rest, and finding none, he says, ‘I will turn back to my house where I came
out.’
25 And when he has come, he finds it swept and put in order.
26 Then goes he, and takes with him seven other spirits more evil than himself;
and they enter in and dwell there; and the last state of that man becomes worse than the
first.”
It is simply not good enough to cast a demon out of a person! What good does it do the
person if that is all we do for them? The end result will be that the demon will return to see if the
person is filled or empty. If the person is empty, then that demon will go and get more demons to go
and dwell in that person. Then the state of that man will be worse off than before the demon was
cast out in the first place.
The point of what Yeshua is teaching here at this point is that once a person has been freed from a
demon, then that person needs to be filled with something. What he should be filled with is the
Spirit of YHWH. If he is filled with the Spirit of YHWH, then when the demon returns he will not be
able to enter the person.
Now, if you are one of those people who has practiced binding the strong man and believed
that you were binding Satan and you are still not convinced, then please consider this. Instead of
binding the strong man using the title “strong man”, please be specific and bind Satan. Then there
will be no
confusion in the spiritual realm and Satan cannot come into your life and cause havoc. You
see, if a person binds the strong man and only uses this title, then such a person has limited
Mashiach from helping him and has freed Satan to do whatever he desires. This of course is not the
desire or intent of the person. However, Satan is a legalist. This means that if he can legally take your
spoken words and use them against you, he will.
Many times we do things in ignorance, not understanding what we are doing. We need to be
as innocent as doves, but at the same time as wise as a serpent. This means that we need to know
and understand what is going on in this realm as well as the spiritual realm. We need to have an
open mind and heart to what it is that YHWH desires to teach us through His Spirit.
May YHWH teach us about Himself and His ways and specifically may He teach us the truth
in this matter of who the strong man is.
ABBA YHWH, open our eyes to Your truth that we may walk in it; in the name of Yeshua our
Mashiach.
Amein and amein.
