Assignment Title: Q1 Mid-Unit: Macbeth’s Theme

Student Writing Goal: My writing goal is to score a perfect score in my next essay. I also hope to improve my thesis
and claims.

Instructions:
1) Re-read the paper (and teacher feedback).
2) Complete this reflection sheet.
3) Revise the paper accordingly and highlight any changes.
4) Submit the revision and this reflection sheet.

Sadly, I do not think that I have made much progress since stating my recent goal for the quarter. If anything, I
think that I have gotten worse at keeping up with my work. I do not feel happy with the way that I have been
What was the purpose of this writing assignment?
The goal of this assignment was to correlate Macbeth’s story into real-life situations. For example, many
people chose the topic of “corruption, because Macbeth, and the people around him were corrupted.
Corruption can also be seen today, which is why it is such a common theme.

How did you perform in relation to the expectations of the writing rubric?
I believe that I performed on an average scale. I do not believe that it was some of my best work, around the
time that we had to write the essay, I was not preparing myself well enough for it. I was not using my time in
a wise manner like I should have.

What aspect of this piece did you do well? (give example/quotes to support claims)
I think that I generally do well when it comes to my vocabulary use, and making my sentences flow with one
another. I also feel like my sources were very well thought of sand support my claims with the theme of
“corruption”.

Why have you/haven’t you chosen to revise this writing assignment?

I chose to revise this writing assignment because I could have performed better on it. I first, did not make the
best effort to complete it, and also, could have written better and turned it in on time. Also, I turned it in
without proof-reading it, and that ended up leaving me with reading errors.

What will you do better in your next writing assignment, and how will I do it?
In my next writing assignment, I will be 100% sure of my essay before submitting it. I will also make sure
that I am take my time finding the proper information that I need for my essay, and take my time making sure
that I perform to my best ability.

To what degree of success did you achieve your previously stated goal(s)?

handling my work, and I am disappointed in myself because I know that I can do better than what I am doing
now. I think the excitement of graduating and only having a couple of weeks left of school is keeping my
headspace away from the goals that I have initially made at the beginning of the quarter. I am aware that I need
to get back on my feet and catch up on my class and home work.
