1 Before You Start
1.1 Application Scope
Before upgrading, if using Web to upgrade, make sure that our customer
promises us to connect their power system with personal computer; otherwise
don't upgrade software of their power system.

2 Preparing for the Upgrade
2.1 Prepare PC and Power System
The cable is the normal network cable.
2.2 Setting IP Address, Subnet Mask, and Gateway

The default IP address of SMU02B is 192.168.0.10. The default URL which can be used to
access SMU02B is https://192.168.0.10/login.asp. You can set the IP address, subnet mask
and gateway for SMU02B based on customer requirement if needed.
Set the IP address, sub-net mask, and gateway of the SMU on the LCD screen base on the IP
address allocated by customers. The LCD default password is 000001.

Set the IP address, subnet mask and default gateway of your computer, it should be in the
same subnet of SMU02B, but with different IP address.

2.3 Setting LAN
The following operations should be taken if you have enable proxy settings in your
IE browser while the SMU connected to PC directly, so that you need to disable it.
If the SMU is connected to the Internet and the PC is connected to intranet, the user
cannot disable the use of the proxy server. If the user cancels the use of the proxy
server, the user cannot access the SMU.
Set the LAN as follows:

Step 1 Open the Internet Explorer.
Step 2 Choose Tools -> Internet Options.

Step 3 On the Connections tab, click LAN settings.

Step 4 Do not select the check box under Proxy server, as shown in Figure 2-1.

Step 5 Click OK, finish the LAN setting.

2.4 Setting Compatibility

To ensure the normal display on the WebUI, click Compatibility View Button shown in
Figure 2-2 to open compaStibility view and set Internet Explorer 8.0.

2.5 Setting Internet Explorer Security
Before exporting historical logs, historical data, statistics, and battery test records, set
Internet Explorer security.
To set Internet Explorer security, perform the following steps:
Step 1 Open Internet Explorer.

Step 2 Choose Tools -> Internet Options.
Step 3 Click the Security tab.
Step 4 Click Internet and then click Custom level as shown in Figure 2-6-1. After set Internet,
please set Local intranet in the same method.

Enable the following options:

 Allow previously unused ActiveX controls to run without prompt
 Download signed ActiveX controls
 Download unsigned ActiveX controls
 Initialize and script ActiveX controls not marked as safe for scripting
 Include local directory path when uploading files to a server
 Automatic prompting for file downloads

3 Performing the Upgrade
3.1 Application Scenario 1 (NetEco Method)

In band, the upgrade task by NetEco will take about 4 hours.
Out of band, the upgrade task by NetEco will take about 5 minutes.
3.1.1 Login in NetEco

Start Internet Explorer, enter the IP address and port number of the NetEco in the address box,
for example, http://10.68.202.105: 31943/index.action to open the NetEco login page. Specify
the user name, password, and verification code and lick Log In to log in to the NetEco.
3.1.2 Upgrade the BSP

NOTES: Before upgrading The Software packages must upgrade The BSP First.
Choose Maintenance, then choose Software Management.

Choose Site Software of the left side, press Upload key.
Choose the NetEco upgrade package, bspv100r004c01b93_NETECO.tar, press Upload key,

and begin to upload.
Wait until the web displays "File upload completed." press close key.

Choose Upgrade Task, then press Site Upgrade key.
1. Write the upgrade task name.

2. Choose the right version, bsp v100r004c01b93, in Target Version.
3. Choose the upgrade site, press the ">" key

1. Pitch on the upgrade site.

2. Press Next key.
Press Finish key.

Press Yes key to begin the upgrade task.
Press Upgrade Task key, the webpage displays the Upgrade Task.
Finally, the upgrade task is successful.
3.1.3 Upgrade The Software

Choose Maintenance, then choose Software Management.

Choose Site Softare of the left side, press Upload key.
Choose the NetEco upgrade package, SMUV500R002C00SPCXXX_0XX_Neteco.tar, press

Upload key, beign to upload.
Wait until the web displays "File upload completed." press close key.
Choose Upgrade Task, then press Site Upgrade key.

1. Write the upgrade task name.

2. Choose the right version, SMUV500R002C00SPCXXX, in Target Version.
3. Choose the upgrade site, press the ">" key
1. Pitch on the upgrade site.

2. Press Next key.

Press Finish key.
Press Yes key to begin the upgrade task.

Press Upgrade Task key, the webpage displays the Upgrade Task.
Finally, the upgrade task is successful.

3.2 Application Scenario 2 (Web Method)

The upgrade task by Web will take about 5 minutes.
3.2.1 Login in WEB

The default WebUI address is https://192.168.0.10/login.asp. The user name is admin, and the
password is Changeme. If the password is error, please try input "000001".
3.2.2 Upgrade the BSP

NOTES: Before upgrading The Software packages must upgrade The BSP First.
1. Click Maintenance->Software Upgrade to open the upgrade page
2. Press Browse key and choose the upgrade package (BSPV100R004C01B93.tar.gz)
3. Upload the upgrade package as shown in the following figure.
Press Upload key.

Choose the Sub package, click Local Upgrade key.
Webpage displays upgrade successfully toast, click confirm button.
3.2.3 Upgrade the Software

1. Click Maintenance->Software Upgrade to open the upgrade page
2. Press Browse key and choose the upgrade package
(SMUV500R002C00SPCXXX_XXX.tar.gz)
3. Upload the upgrade package as shown in the following figure.

Press Upload key.
Webpage displays uploading toast, the package is uploading.
Wait for several seconds, webpage displays "Uploaded Successfully".

Choose the Sub package, click Local Upgrade key.
Webpage displays restart toast, click confirm button.
The upgrading process will take several minutes.
