B.

Tech Projects (BTP I and BTP II)

BTP I

1. Faculty advisors will coordinate the BTP activity. The students will inform the
respective faculty advisor about this after the permissible ‘drop-add’ period is over.
2. Faculty advisor will announce that the examinations should be completed before a
given date. This announcement will be made during the mid-sem week. This date
shall not be later than the date of the last endsem exam for the semester. The
activity of scheduling the date, time and selection of examiners shall be the
responsibility of the guide of the student. At the end of the conduct of the
examination the grade awarded shall be submitted to the faculty advisor who
announced the examination and again no later than the date of the last endsem
exam. The faculty advisor through the HOD MED shall send the grades to the
academic office. The students who do not make presentations will automatically be
given ‘II’.
3. In the event that a student does not make the presentation by the scheduled date
whatever may be the reason for this, the student gets an automatic extension till the
last day of winter break. The highest grade that student can now get is ‘BC’.
4. The responsibility of sending the grade to the academic office now belongs to the
guide. The grade must be dispatched to the academic office through HOD MED on or
before the first day of registration of the ‘January (spring)’ semester. The student
automatically gets an FR if the grade is not sent by this date.
5. The option of dropping the BTP is given to the student till two weeks from the
commencement of classes for the ‘January (spring ) semester’ with the permission of
the guide.

BTP II
1. Within one week from the beginning of the classes for the ‘ January (spring)’
semester the student will inform the concerned faculty advisor that registration
has been done for this.
2. The faculty advisor may give ‘FR’ if item 1 has not been done. The faculty advisor
will again announce the date before which the final examination must be
completed which will be no later than the last day of the end-semester exam.
The activity of scheduling the date, time and selection of examiners shall be the

examination the grade awarded shall be submitted to the faculty advisor who
announced the examination and again no later than the date of the last endsem
exam. The grades shall be sent by the faculty advisor through the HOD MED to
the academic office. The students who do not make presentations will
automatically be given ‘II’.
3. In the event that the student does not make the presentation by the scheduled
date, whatever may be the reason for this, the student gets an automatic
extension of 30 days from the last day of the end-semester examination. The
highest grade that the student can now get is ‘BC’.
4. In the event that the student does not make the presentation even after the 30
days extension in summer, whatever may be the reason for this, the student gets
an automatic extension for another 30 days. The highest grade that the student
can now get is ‘DD’.
5. The submission of grades for items 3 and 4 is the responsibility of the respective
guide.
6. After the 60 days extension the student is automatically given the FR grade.
The grade should be submitted through HOD ME.
7. Exceptions will be entertained by DUGC only for medical reasons.
