b) Sing a Malaysian folk song
c) Relate the music to the lives of the people
II. Content:
A. Topic: Music of Malaysia
B. Reference: Music and Arts of Asia Learner’s Module. Pp. 20 – 24
C. Materials: Cartolina, Pictures, Speaker and Mobile Phone
III. Procedure:
1. Motivation
⁻ Show picture of Malaysia and students will share ideas about the pictures
2. Development of the lesson
1) Activity
⁻ Students will listen to instrumental and folk music of Malaysia
2) Analysis
⁻ Can you recall the difference between vocal music and instrumental
music?
3) Abstraction
⁻ 2 categories of music of Malaysia
⁻ Musical ensembles and types of performance in Malaysia
4) Application
⁻ Listen to a Malaysian folk song
⁻ Sing the Malaysian folk song
IV. Evaluation:
⁻ What can you say about the categories of Malaysian music?
⁻ Show pictures and students will identify the type of performance shown.
V. Assignment
⁻ Read about the music of Thailand
