A printed report containing abstracts of the news of the activities done on daily basis of
Daimler/Mitsubishi Fuso and its competitors such as Hino, Isuzu and UD Trucks, Develop-
ment of Electric Vehicles (EV) & Fuel Cell Vehicles (FCV) and Latest events happening in
Market. News is taken from different Japanese media i.e. newspaper & magazines. Report
is sent to the client located in Japan from Monday to Friday every week.

A dedicated database for all Nikkei related media is also used to extract text of articles which
saves time and improves accuracy. This database shows all the articles in one place, includ-
ing newspapers and magazines.
News search to compile daily newsletter is done by both Pankaj Rai and Bhanu
Ahluwalia jointly. In case of emergency when the former one is not available, the latter
one looks after the daily search or vice-versa.
1.2 Procedure
Team starts the article search every day at 12:30 am to 5:30 am. Daily newsletter is
compiled and sent to the client at 6 am every Monday-Friday.
Following steps are followed to search the articles for daily newsletter ( Refer APPEN-
DIX 1)
b. Click on Daimler Truck Asia Japan for checklists containing newspapers & maga-
zines info.
c. Files are maintained according to the month and year. Select the file you wish to
check or work on. Now, select any newspaper’s url , copy it to new tab of browser
(Google chrome, Mozilla fire fox).
d. Type Registered ID and password given in Google Drive file on Selected Newspa-
per’s site .
e. Then, select the keywords one by one given in google drive file to search relevant ar-
ticle in newspaper.
g. If the headlines seems to be related to automotive sector then categorize the article
as ‘client‘ , ‘competitor ‘ or ‘market ‘.
h. At the end, Magazines are searched through same steps as explained earlier.

j. Preparing newsletter for the particular day by combining articles extracted from dif-
ferent media.
Following steps are followed to create Table of Content (TOC) for daily newsletter
C.Select Daimler Asia Daily News Briefing-Japan. Then, click on New (on left side in
blue color).
D. Then select on Google Doc and create a new doc according to current date, month
and year.
A printed report containing abstracts of the news of the activities done on daily basis by
Mitsubishi Fuso and its competitors such as Hino, Isuzu and UD Trucks. News is taken
from activities performed in ten different countries. Report is sent to the client located in
these ten countries on Friday of every week.

Daily news search to compile weekly newsletter is done by Vikrant Bhatnagar whereas
Bhanu Ahluwalia is backup member of the team. In case of emergency when Vikrant is
not available, Bhanu looks after the daily search.
2.2 Procedure
Team starts the article search every day at 12:30 am to 5 am. Weekly newsletter is com-
piled and sent to the client at 6 am every Friday.
Following steps are followed to search the articles for weekly newsletter ( Refer AP-
PENDIX 2)
b. Boolean string is not copied and pasted in the search engine for example Google
Chrome, Mozilla.
e. If the headlines are related to automotive sector then categorize the article as ‘cli-
ent‘ ‘competitor ‘ or ‘market ‘.
g. Maintain table of content by mentioning the Source of the article i.e. the name of the
newspaper, page number and title of the article.

A printed report containing abstracts of the news of the activities done on daily basis by Audi
India and its competitors such as Mercedes Benz, BMW, Jaguar and Volvo. News is taken
from activities performed in India. Report is sent to Audi India on daily basis.
Daily news is divided into three parts viz print articles from English newspapers, online
news articles and print articles from Hindi newspaper. Daily search for English newspaper
articles is done by Vikrant Bhatnagar, online articles are taken by Nitin Sharma and Hindi
newspapers clips are taken by Moksha.
3.2 Procedure
Audi newsletter is delivered twice everyday to the client. First newsletter is delivered at 9:30
am and second one at 11:30 am. Refer APPENDIX 3 for details.
e. Horreum displays the list of articles clipped from English newspapers for the selected
date.
j. Maintain table of content by mentioning the Source of the article i.e. the name of the
newspaper, page number and title of the article.

It is a process to download the relevant articles from online magazines. Articles from auto-
motive sector from from Indonesian and Philippine magazines are downloaded and upload-
ed to Content Convergence Specialist (CCS) tool on daily basis . Later those articles are
clipped by clipping team to compile newsletters or coding.

Daily article search and upload is done by Vikrant Bhatnagar. Bhanu Ahluwalia is the backup
for this task.
4.2 Procedure
Daily article search and upload is done manually by Vikrant Bhatnagar. These online maga-
zines do not allow to save the page directly in PDF format therefore the relevant page/pages
are in JPEG format. Later these JPEG format is converted to PDF format by using JPEG to
PDF converter tool.
c. If article is found, go to the developer tools to save the page in JPEG format
d. Saved page is now converted to PDF format using JPEG to PDF converter tool
A printed report containing articles from newspapers about activities by Union pay and its
competitors and industry etc. is sent to Union Pay China on daily basis. Newsletter is sent
twice a day as morning and evening newsletter.
News search to compile daily newsletter is done by Pankaj Rai (Morning) and Preeti
Sachdeva (Evening). Whereas Aditi Gupta is backup member of the team.
5.2 Procedure
Union Pay newsletter is delivered twice every day to the client. First newsletter is delivered
at 8:00 am and second one at 2:30 pm. Pankaj starts article search in Horreum every day at
6:15 am and sends newsletter around 8:00 am. Refer APPENDIX 5 for details.
c. On the next page, from right, first option, select print from the Branch dropdown menu.
e. Select one day before current date as Date From and select current date as Date To.
6. DP DHL
It is a process to find ‘Logistics’ related articles for DP DHL including other logistics partners
like Amazon, UPS,TNT and Blue Dart etc. News is taken from different Japanese newspa-
per. Report in form of an E-mail along with MS Word files and PDF is sent to the client twice
a week, Tuesday and Saturday.

6.2 Procedure
Pankaj does the article search thrice a week. (Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday)

It is a process to extract the relevant articles from downloaded magazines. Articles headlines
of all automotive manufacturers of Japan from Japanese magazines are save in a file and
given to CCS team. Later those articles are clipped by clipping team.

Daily article search is done manually by Bhanu Ahluwalia. These magazines do not allow to
copy whole headlines directly from PDF format, therefore, Firstly the relevant headline has
to be written manually in Japanese. Later these headlines are copied and pasted in work-
sheet.

Search is done for articles published in the print media, both Newspapers and Magazines.

Step 1. Copy the newspaper Url form the Google drive file and paste it in browser.

Step 2. Click on login on the particular website (If not automatically logged in) and enter the
login credentials provided in google drive file (if not automatically filled). Now, Copy the
search keywords and paste it the search box of the particular website to search for the arti-
cles.

Step 4. Once articles are collected and composed in the Newsletter tool, go to the ‘Main
Menu ‘which will pop up 4 options, go to the ‘Newsletters‘ click on ‘Newsletter‘ again.
Three options will be shown, click on ‘Daimler Truck Asia - News Briefing Japan’. Then,
On next page, Select the box which says ‘Create Newsletter Edition‘ . Compose the news-
letter using Newsletter tool.

Add those articles one by one, to compose keep start date as one day before current date
and keep End date unchanged. Click on ‘Filter News Feed ‘ to get all the articles composed
in between those dates. Now, select categories one by one according to the category men-
tioned in the TOC.
To send the final well composed newsletter, first click on Preview HTML to see the final look
of your newsletter and to check any grammatical or any other mistake. Then, Click on ‘Send
Test E-mail‘ from the top of the Newsletter tool. Once the TEST MAIL is sent, close the
page, refresh and go back to the Newsletter Tool. Now repeat the procedure, however this
time no need to click on Create Newsletter Edition, Instead, now you’ll be able to see the
newsletter already made as 1st option under Newsletter Editions list. Double click on the 1st
option, It will take you to the same page with compiled newsletter. Here you need to click on
the last option Send E-Mail to finally send it to clients.
Articles shall be composed according to the date, original Japanese heading followed by
translated heading, then, its publication. Please see below image for better understanding.

APPENDIX 2
Step 1. Copy the boolean string one by one to paste in search engine . It is Available at

Step 2. Select ‘News’ and ‘Past Week’ for search criteria. Figure 2 shows the search criteria.

Step 4. Once articles are collected and composed in the Newsletter tool, go to the ‘Main Menu
‘which will pop up 4 options, go to the ‘Newsletters‘ click on ‘Newsletter‘ again. Three options will
be shown, click on ‘Daimler Truck Asia - News Briefing International‘. Select the box which says
‘Çreate Newsletter Edition‘ Compose the newsletter using Newsletter tool. Figure 6 shows the steps
to generate PDF of the final newsletter which will be send to the client on Friday.
Select ‘last Friday’s date ‘ as Start date and ’coming Saturday’s date ‘ for End date. Click on ‘Filter
News Feed ‘ to get all the articles composed in between those dates. Now, select categories one by
one according to the category mentioned in the TOC.
Articles shall be composed according to the date of their publication. This can be counter checked
with TOC maintained on daily basis (Figure 7).
PDF can be generated by clicking on the option ‘Generate PDF ‘ to the final layout of the newsletter.
To send the final well composed newsletter click on the ‘Send E-mail ‘ on the top of the Newsletter
tool.

Step 1. Log in to the online tool Horreum , available at: http://prime-intra.net/ . Figure 8
shows the log in page of Horreum.
Step 2. Scroll down and go to the Upload manager (New) as shown in the Figure 9.
Step 3. Enter project id 2206101 for Daimler International in Search id box. Select current
current date in the box mentioning ‘Date from’ and next day’s date in the box below (Date
to). Figure 10 shows the layout of Horreum and the required details to display the articles on
the right.
Step 4. Select the relevant article and push to the Newsletter tool by selecting the category,
project name in boxes on top. Figure shows the categories need to be fill in to push article to
Newsletter tool.
APPENDIX 3
Search for Audi India is done for the articles published in online and print media. It is done
simultaneously by two team members. One looks after the online article search whereas
other takes care of the print articles.

Step 1. Open browser for example Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox. Type in Audi and se-
lect the country ‘India’ and ‘past 24 hours’ as search criteria. Figure 12 shows the search
criteria to get articles for Audi India.
Step 3. Log in to the Gmail account of Audi India using the email id audiprimein-
ia@gmail.com, and password- superman$1. Open ‘Table of Contents’ in Google drive.
Step 4. Compile daily newsletter with the articles added to the Newsletter tool. Grouping is
done for the articles iterate same news in different medias. Figure 6 and 7 shows the steps
to generate final PDF after compilation.

APPENDIX 4
Manual search is required to identify pages containing the relevant articles. These pages
cannot be downloaded in PDF format directly. To convert them into desired format, they are
first downloaded in JPEG format using developer tools of the browser and later JPEG to
PDF converter tool is used.

Step 2. If relevant article is found, go to the developer tools on top right corner of the
browser as shown in the Figure 14.
Step 3. Press F5 and it will display all images in the browser’s page. Double click on
the page which needs to be saved. The last link in the right hand side is the link to
save JPEG image of the page (Figure 15). Click on the link and it will open up in the
another tab, if it does not work then copy the link and open it in Mozilla Firefox.
Step 4. Once the link is open in another tab, right click on the image and save im-
age as JPEG in the folder located at Y:\03_News_Services\10_Automotive Indone-
sia and Philippines\Indonesia.
Step 5. Once the JPEG image is saved, open PDF Fill tool to convert it into PDF
format. Figure 16 shows the customization to be made before the conversion.
Drag the JPEG image to the PDF Fill tool and the click on ‘ Save as’ to save the PDF
in the parent folder.

Step 6. To upload the PDF in CCS, drag and drop the file in ‘1’. Change the date
and type in magazine name ‘2’ before click on the Upload ‘3’ as shown in the Figure
18.

Step 1. Log in to the online tool Horreum , available at: http://prime-intra.net/ . Below image
shows the log in page of Horreum.

Step 2. On next page, Scroll down and go to the Upload manager (New) as shown in the

Horreum. Then click on the ‘Article ID’ to edit the article.
Step 8. On next page, Insert appropriate Keyword name according to the article. Scroll down
and click ‘ Save and mark done’ to finally save the article.

Step 9. To maintain track file on Google Drive, Singh in to Google drive and click ‘Input by
Prime India’
Step 11. To create new folder, Click on the blue button ‘NEW’ from the top left corner of the
page.
Step 12. Create new folder and name it for current date. See existing folder for naming ref-
erence.

Step 13. Now copy the ‘Template’ file and drag it into the newly created folder.
Step 14. Now, Inside new folder, create two folders for both the newsletter delivery timings
‘11:00 Delivery’( which is 8:30 am IST) & ‘16:00 Delivery’( Which is 2:30 pm IST). Also copy
the Template file again in the new folder, name them accordingly to the newsletter delivery
timings and drag both the file to their respective folders. Please see any existing folders for
better understanding.

Step 15. Please note, Current date articles will go to the ’16:00 Delivery’ file and day before
articles will be noted down in ’11:00 Delivery’ file. To see how to maintain track files please
see below image. Track file will be maintained through newsletter tool. First go back to
Newsletter Tool to edit article as done in step 8.

Step 16. Now, go to Newsletter Tool to compile newsletter, Go to ‘Main Menu’, Click to
‘Newsletters’ then ‘Newsletters’.

Articles are searches through Nikkei Database website and then uploaded to Horreum. A
word file containing all the articles along with PDF goes to Prime’s DP DHL team twice a
week, Tuesday and Saturday.
