IMPLEMENTATION OF THE PROTOTYPE OF DOUBLE FED INDUCTION GENERATOR AND TO STUDY THE REACTIVE POWER GENERATION BY DFIG V/S THE AVAILABLE COMPENSATION TECHNIQUES (28/2005) B.E (ELECTRICAL) PROJECT REPORT Prepared by: Zohaib Ahmad Siddiqui (Group Leader) EE-05093 Yasir Jamal EE-05086 Waqas Naseer Sheikh FE-05089 Samiya Zafar FE-05106 Deptt. of Electrical ia, NED University of Bagg. & Foo), KARACHI. rec. But at the same time, the power quality of the generation must be ensured and this means that the electrical parameters of the distribution network have to be maintained within their upper and lower limits, Currently the accepted technology for large wind turbines is the doubly-fed induction generator (DFIG). Similar approach is used for generation but with an exception; Especially for remote areas where wind is available in bulk, small scale wind farms are suitable for which a complete set up is analyzed .The rotor windings are energized through a3 phase AC of low frequency and the stator supplies 3 phase AC to the load. Thus the induction generator no more remains doubly excited. The method of pitch control is employed for consiant frequency operation. The simulation results are presented. Results of hardware analysis and testing are also presented. REFERENCE LIBRARY Deptt. of Blectrical Engo. NED University of Bags. & Tech, KARACHL Ace, NoALYG....Date.. ACKNOWLEDGMENTS ACKNOWLEDGMENTS First of all we thank Almighty Allah, who made ail things possible. We would like to acknowledge and extend our heartfelt gratitude to the people who have made the completion of this project possible. Special thanks to Project Internat Advisor Mr. Mirza Mohammad Ali Baig for lending us his help & support during the project and for leading us towards the right approaches. It goes without saying that without him, the project would not have been possible. We would like to thank our Project External Advisor Mr. Syed Tanveer Ahmed Jafferi for considering us to be able to carry out the project. We would thank our Class Advisor Mr. Abdul Ghani Abro, for approving our project proposal, for taking keen interest in the project activities & for being a helping hand whenever we needed him. In the end, we would like to thank all Lab In charges for helping us in carrying out the tests and experiments.
