To Whom It May Concern:

It is with great pleasure that I write a letter of recommendation for Tyrah Urie. As the
facilitating teacher in the Blue Preschool program at the Child Development Center at Keene
State College, I had the fortunate experience of working with Tyrah as she did her coursework for
Practicum 1 in fall, 2018.
Tyrah demonstrates excellent interpersonal skills. She relates well with staff, parents and
children as both a clear communicator and a vigilant, compassionate listener. She works
effortlessly to create respectful environments that encourage positive social interactions.
Relationships with children and families unfolded naturally for Tyrah.
As part of her coursework, Tyrah implemented best practices as outlined in NAEYC
standards by providing developmentally appropriate materials and designing creative activities
based on the children’s interests. She was a quick study with learning the daily routine and
procedural requirements of the paperwork. She is organized, thorough and punctual. Tyrah
demonstrates a working knowledge of child development and is always excited to keep up with
the latest research and literature.
Although Tyrah brings with her tremendous knowledge and efficient organizational
skills, it is my bias that her real gift is her ability to reach children. Tyrah has an unconditional
positive regard for children and this shows in her every interaction. She is nurturing, caring and
supportive while insuring safety, consistency and appropriate limits in a warm classroom setting.
It is without reservation that I recommend Tyrah Urie for employment in any educational
setting. If you should need any further information or have any questions, please feel free to
contact me at (603) 358-2214.

Sincerely,

Stacey Fortin
