Dear Ms.

Figueroa,

In the begging when I had first started to write essays that were five paragraphs

long, then later expanding my writing to at least six pages or more. I have never had

anyone guide me through my errors and mistakes in all of my writing pieces. In regards

of me having that difficulty to fully right a paper in a proper way rather than talking

directly to the “paper”. Over time I had learned a plethora of things in order to maintain a

strong essay with little to none mistakes. The dilemma in my writings were a lack of

broadening my word choices, remaining on topic, and properly citing and replying to

citations. The most common mistakes in each of my errors were the most common,

however the most repetitive. I had set a goal for myself in the begging of my senior year,

it was to be able to enhance my writing abilities into actually overcoming all of my

common errors and be able to score an eighty or above in my writing pieces.

It had taken me awhile to realize what I been messing up on in my writing.

Coming into my senior year it had been a challenge in writing due to me having to learn a

whole new approach in my writing in regards of me doing it incorrectly most of my high

school career. To be able to slowly overcome all my underlying struggles in my writing I

believe I can manage to write a full paper without any common errors such as, repetitive

words, not staying on topic, and incorrectly introducing and citing quotes. In my future

college career, I will take everything I have learned through my senior year and expand

and improve more and more.

However, in each of my pieces that was written in my senior year there was still

many overplayed mistakes still taken places. In the beginning, most of my pieces had not

been reread as many suggest a writing piece should be. That had caused many of mistake
to approach without me noticing it since I had not double check in prevention of that

occurring. In my previous reflection and revision, I had realized with out me doing so it

led to the most basic errors that could be prevented and fixed if I were to go back and

double check the entire paper. However, I realized that some common mistakes were, I

was unable to fully explain a quote due to the fact that I had no idea what the quote was

about, or how to properly explain it. At first, I never truly realized all of my mistakes

since I had never known what the proper way was of writing a well-structured essay.

Throughout the course of my senior year, I had learned a lot from the environment I was

in. I had learned how to manage a steady on topic essay with minor to no errors.
