Universal Design for Learning (UDL): ​This lesson is accessible with students with hearing disabilities and ESL.
The hearing disability can communicate with me via blogging and I can provide them visual sources and
documents on the blog. The ESL student can communicate with me on the blog, and I can even translate the
text for them if needed.
Lesson idea implementation:​ ​The first thing I would do is go over the topic which will be disorders related to
mental and emotional health. After I provide them general knowledge I would give them the class assignment.
The assignment will be they will have to make a comment on the 5 blog post I created that pertain to the
source provided. Each blog post will be a resource associating to a specific mental disorder. The student
comment must be a summary of the resource and how they felt about it.
The assignment should take most of the class time and if the students do not finish, then they have to finish it
as homework. To further the student learning, the student can research an article pertaining to mental
disorders and make a blog post explaining it with the link to the source. The student learning will be assessed
by grading their comments based on the rubric that will e provided. The assignment conclusion will be
reviewing their comments and have a group discussion on their views on the disorders.

Importance of technology: ​ The website creation tool is important to the project because the student needs it
to post their summary. The blog will be the primary source where it will have the resource and they will make
a comment. If it was lost, then the student will lose a chance to try blogging and comments. The only
technology is either phone or computer, os they can access the resource and make the blog post or comment.

Internet Safety and Student Privacy: ​The issues that can pop up is students posting inappropriate post
instead of the assignment. I would warn the students that if their summary is inappropriate, then I would give
them a zero for the assignment and would be reported to administrators and parents. I would inform the
administrators and parent about blog assignment and the consequences and get approval for the assignment.
The two policy I would Be following is FERPA and CIPA.

Reflective Practice:​ I​ feel good about the assignment. I would want to implement this in my health class for
their current event. The assignment could be further by making a blog post for the current event a weekly
thing. There is no other technology tool that can implement into this assignment.
