With an illustrious history dating back to 1860 and a change of hands from Earls (The Earl of Warwick), tea conglomerates (Brooke Bond)
and other business houses, the 7500 acre sprawling expanse of the Estate does not in the slightest manner reek of any aristocratic awe.
Instead the Partners’ Bungalow at the estate, it is one of the warmest places, tucked away in the middle of the cascading tea gardens
with tempting proximity to Bangalore.
The Estate is just off the town of Sakleshpur on the Bangalore – Mangalore highway. With mild treks, about 10 streams and an
adventurous 4 wheel drive ‘off the road’ track to follow in the property; Elephant footprints, wild hogs, hare, bison’s, sambars are
occasionally seen and a good variety of birds are an everyday sight
Sakleshpur is a small town in the state of Karnataka. The town and surroundings are known as plantation country with Coffee and Tea
being major crops apart from paddy fields and betel nut plantations. Sakleshpur is also known for thick forests, flowing streams,
waterfalls and beautiful meadows stretching for miles.
a) By Road - Sakleshpur is at a distance of 220 KMs from Bangalore and is a four hours of pleasant drive. There are many busses from
Bangalore to Sakleshpur.
b) By Train - The Bangalore - Mangalore express train stops at Sakleshpur.
c) Nearest airport is Mangalore. Bangalore is also a convenient choice.
The estate is a low elevation tea estate which has around 1,000 acres of tea on it. The good news is the entire estate is about 7,000
acres, leaving over 4,000 acres to the wild and its denizens.
