Oviso Rail through its framework also provides outsourcing of
experienced, competent engineers in the following disciplines;
signalling design, checking, verification and principles testing.
Oviso Rail has access to a range of simulation equipment SSI,
Westlock, Westrace and Microlok allowing full off-site design and
testing activities to be completed. This increases client productivity
and reduces client costs.
Oviso Rail also provides clients with an option to lease a fully
populated Microlok/MISS setup at our head office in Sydney. With
plans to further enhance the company’s capability to extend its range
of simulation equipment we offer our clients a cost effective option
when tendering for projects.

Design
Oviso Rail provides extensive in-house design,
checking and verification capability. All our
engineers are IRSE licensed and are competent to
the client’s requirements. We are proficient in relay
circuits and CBI which include Microlok, Westrace,
SSI and Westlock. Our team is fully capable in all
aspects of design and can provide solutions to fit
our client’s requirements.

Testing
Our comprehensive testing capability offers
clients extensive solutions in principles testing and
functional testing. Our team is fully competent; IRSE
licensed and can provide testing for both existing
and new installations, from simple alterations to
new interlockings.

Our in-house Microlok II simulator allows us to

provide a complete solution from design through to
principles testing and with access to Westrace, SSI
and Westlock simulators we can offer our clients a
fully integrated signalling solution.

Commissioning
Oviso Rail provides the required skills at
commissionings to undertake design integrity
testing, principles testing, function testing and
design support.

All of our engineers have been extensively involved

in major commissionings throughout Australia
and overseas.

Queensland Railways
Oviso Rail has a continued alliance with Queensland Railways and has provided them with design,
checking, verification and principles testing, working in collaboration on some of the largest
and most high profile projects in Queensland. Our continued commitment and association with
Queensland Railways is proof that Oviso Rail can deliver all aspects of railway signalling Microlok,
Westlock, SSI and Westrace.

South Coast Level Crossing Upgrades, Gap – Narrabri Improvements –

EDI Downer Works
Oviso Rail is providing continued signalling design, checking and principles testing to EDI Downer
Works. The South Coast Level Crossing upgrade program is a major program of works for ARTC
and we are providing the skills to successfully commission each level crossing from design through
to commissioning.

Hornsby Platform 5, South Sydney Freight Link (SSFL) –

Westinghouse Rail Systems Australia
Oviso Rail was part of a team which provided Westlock data checking and principles testers that
worked together to commission Hornsby station, one of the most complicated Westlock installations
in the world. Over a period of 12 months we provided Westinghouse Rail Systems with the skills
necessary to help successfully deliver this project.

On the South Sydney Freight Link (SSFL) project Oviso Rail provided scheme development, design
and checking of signalling control tables and principles testing of the Microlok and Westrace
interlockings.

Hunter Valley Alliance, North Coast Alliance, Maitland to Branxton

Bi-Directional – Ansaldo – STS
Oviso Rail successfully completed the Microlok principles testing and provided resources to assist
in the commissioning of all three projects for Ansaldo-STS, Australia.

ARTC South Improvement Alliance (SIA) – Connell Wagner (Aurecon)

Oviso Rail completed the Microlok principles testing for 2 of the new passing loops on NSW
infrastructure. Our commitment and extensive testing experience provided the client with valuable
feedback during this project.

Oviso Rail is also providing design, checking, verification and principles testing to ARTC on a
number of projects throughout NSW and we continue to pride ourselves on giving our clients the
