Prioritizing Replacement of Aging Infrastructure Like Pipelines Over Two-Thirds of Minnesotans Agree It Is Time to Move Forward with a Newer, Safer Pipeline St. Paul – Today, the Ag Energy Alliance released new Public Opinion Research results showing that Minnesotans overwhelmingly support making aging infrastructure replacement, including pipelines, a Minnesota Priority. Over two-thirds of Minnesotans agree it is time to move forward with newer safer pipelines. “It is very encouraging to see that 84% of Minnesotans support making infrastructure improvements, including oil and gas pipelines, a priority in our great state” said Tamara Nelsen, Executive Director of the Minnesota AgriGrowth Council. “More than two-thirds of Minnesotans surveyed say it is time to move forward with newer, safer pipelines,” Nelsen concluded. “Minnesotans are concerned about the state of infrastructure in the state and are worried about the safety of the existing pipeline,” American Strategies CEO Joe Goode said. “Once voters hear more details about the project, there is broad agreement that it is time to get started building the new pipeline.” “The energy consumers, in our membership of Main Street Convenience stores, need the Line 3 Replacement project and are thrilled to see such overwhelming support among Minnesotans to get the Line 3 Replacement Project peacefully constructed.” said Lance Klatt, Executive Director of the Minnesota Service Station and Convenience Store Association, a member of the Ag Energy Alliance. The Minnesota Agriculture & Energy Alliance is a partnership between citizens, government, non-profit organizations and private companies working to support Minnesota’s farmers and agri-business, rural retailers and other small businesses. People and organizations from across the state are working together to help create policies and support projects that improve access to markets for agricultural products, efficient energy and the overall business climate. ###
