My name is Jerica Fischer and I am an incoming freshman at Penn State Behrend. I am eager to start my
education in mechanical engineering. Therefore, I am curious to know when I may begin participating in
research and internship opportunities.

I believe I must take part in hands on material beyond classes to ensure my future success as an
engineer. It is important to know how to solve problems both on paper and in real life situations. If I
contribute my time towards an internship or research I will excel beyond my fellow classmates. It truly
takes dedication to go beyond normal coursework. With minimal time in the day this would require
excellent time management to execute both efficiently. In addition, most engineering companies are
requiring past experiences like these prior to employment. This may not only be mandatory but look
appealing to these employers.

I will certainly appreciate your time to inform me on the internship and research opportunities Penn
State Behrend has to offer. I am thrilled to see what fascinating opportunities lie in my future.
